Aaron's wholesome blind reaction to his own fragrance was such a profound moment, really highlights how much he enjoys and takes pride in what he does.
@@RichardOliver why? Because I asked him a simple question and he made a smart snarky remark then blocked me. I told him I had a few of his fragrances and loved boss Bastard. Wasn’t initially into it and took time to get to like it. Another seemed too sweet and not as rounded . He took offense to me saying it wasn’t as rounded I suppose.
@@stefankkbarnes interesting . If anything it should be a compliment . But there’s reasons why he won’t review FRAGRANCE DU BOIS. Oud or AOUD, can smell like anything , doesn’t always have to be pissy. Same with PDM & INITIO .
I've recently gotten a bottle of Onyx Extreme, the longevity is incredible. It blows all other rose oud fragrances out of the water. I have worked 24 hour shifts and get home and take my clothes off and still get strong smells of Onyx dry down. I can not say enough good things about this brand, especially in terms of price with regard to the quality of materials used.
Hey Chris! Absolutely love the video, always a pleasure to ATH (recently purchased Onyx and love it). A possible idea for a future video - not sure you've ever been into the shop 'Bodycare'but they sell the most hilarious bootleg copies of frags "Adventus" and "Le Man" were highlights. Would be amazing to see your and ATHs reactions to them!
These are epic, you two are foundational in our community. Thank you for sticking by and bringing forward so many voices of the frag comm, as well as injecting so much humor/joy in your work. Inspiring. Love your work Chris, and I love the sneaky, cheeky fun you have with him. You can tell how eager he is to start smelling at the beginning. He's like, "no intro, smell now!" 🤣😂 . bravo blokes :)
Nothing in that list from house of Orto Parisi and Nassomato? :( I think Alessandro Gaultieri is doing one of the strongest fragrances in the business as well.
this man (ATH) is a frikkin genius was wearing celestia the other day (this was a special gift from aaron to loyal customers when he was starting out - never sold!) and i was loving it i request he brings back some of his older frags
That would be awesome! I want to hear it dissected as well! Would love to hear some in-depth thoughts on it. It took me a few times before I understood what I was even smelling. So enchanting and natural- I was lost for a while, still kind of am, but seeing things more clearly as time goes on.
7:35 Oh! Prada L'homme smells so good. So does Bleu de Chanel. I don't understand why people buy such expensive fragrances when there are such beautiful, mind relaxing, happy fragrances for way less.
I feel like Aaron is going to be remembered long after he has passed. Not to be morbid. But he’s going places. Technically knowledgeable, modern, and an artist through and through. Love listening to him analyse fragrances.
Interlude 53 is so good! I want 50 bottles of it. Not sure why it's not sold out, greatest fragrance ever made in my opinion. I have been collecting for over 20 years. Only thing could argue that is better is Plum Japonais from Tom Ford.
TBH the vintage formula of Dior Homme Parfum is probably my strongest powerful fragrance and I have Amouage Interlude too… One spray and that is enough for 24 hours +
Great video! But I'm curious if anyone else caught this: Aaron said there was one in the line of PDM that he did not enjoy. There's a video that Chris shot with Aaron in the past, and Aaron was repulsed at the smell of Carlisle 😮 It is amazing how on any given day we can smell things differently...though I do think Aaron is softening up with his candid evaluations 😊
noticed exactly the same. As you said on any given day things can smell differently and on top of that people evolve as well. Aaron is getting alot better in conversing what he is smelling too :)
Dude, lovin' the whole professional perfumer angle. Unique, and USEFUL. 👍 (BTW, love the channel title, but I'm thinking "mental" is not as colloquial here as in the the U.K.)
Might actually be a plus if a perfumer isn't really familiar with the top of the pops. Like Aaron mentioned, it's less noise. But I would imagine that it does increase the probability that one of their creations might be similar to others out there. Otherwise, it's best to stay in the zone. 💪
Amouage Opus XIV Royal Tobacco is so good though, its my favourite scent ever since i bought it 4 months ago. Cecilie Zarokain is so good at making perfumes.
I swear, I had that exact same shirt in 1989. I loved it, a lot of happy memories. I'm not so happy that I'm so old that fashion is repeating itself, though!
Hi Chris! Do you have a recommendation for something I can use to add a little animalic edge to whatever perfume I'm wearing to increase the performance? Aaron used to have one called Animalix but unfortunately it's discontinued now :( thanks for your great work!
I don't really get the confused as to why he doesn't know what other houses fragrances smell like. If he went around smelling other fragrances all the time there would undoubtedly be some influence, even if it's unintentional. He is trying to come up with things on his own, that way he's got the best chance of making them smell unique as he's taking the raw elements and putting them together until HE thinks they are perfect. Just like what he said at the end of the video, he's passionate about what he does and wants to make what he enjoys. Naturally I'm sure he's hoping that other people are going to enjoy it too, but I guess it's a risk anyone takes by trying to come up with an original fragrance.
Aaron's wholesome blind reaction to his own fragrance was such a profound moment, really highlights how much he enjoys and takes pride in what he does.
Also can’t handle healthy criticism

3:49 The smile is everything ✨. Chris, please let him know we love him coming on the show.
I love whenever Aaron makes an appearance!
He seems so shy compared to when he is by himself in front of the camera.
Awesome character.
When it’s my channel Aaron just leaves the presenting to me.
I find it to be somewhat endearing. He's come a long way in his art and business. Many people in his position wouldn't be so humble.
If I'm not mistaken I think he mentioned before about having Aspergers Syndrome.
I have it too so that stood out to me.
@@IIIllIllIII Makes sense. Lovely guy anyways
This is not just a parfumer…this is Aaron Terence Hughes 🤩

More videos with Aaron. His descriptions are unmatched and his fragrances are beyond words

Best perfumer for me. Love love love these videos 🦄
@@ncpmadhead why what scents has he created that you think makes him the best ?Not one of his creations would get into the top 1000 scents of all time
I would love to see a series with Aaron where he dissects some master perfumers best works. Like 5-10 Alberto Morillas works etc.
Nothing makes me more happy to see a video of my favorite perfumer with you Chris. Big ATH fan 🦄
I hope you are fantastic and doing really well Mr Hughes
nice :)

Thanks for including Royal Tobacco! Excellent choice
You’re doing a awesome job with these videos!!!
Always nice to have Aaron on the channel,
Would love too see him review some more mainstream/designer fragrances 😄
Aaron is such a genuine soul hope life carries him far
He was revolted by Carlisle in the video a few years and now he liked it!!
Exactly! He hated the top note 😅😅
Two of my favorites frag head in one video!! 👍👍👍
I picked up Gentle Fluidity Silver this week. Everyone is saying it’s beast mode but I find really soft 🤷♂️🤷♂️.
Onyx Extreme was my last purchase. I enjoy it very much, aaron is a great perfumer!

Great review , interesting to see two amouage fragrances in there which is my overall favourite house .
I love this, both of you are amazing and this kind of videos put a smile on my face! Also, i was curious on Aaron's opinion on Diaghilev!
Great content. I vote for Nuit de Bakélite by Naomi Goodsir. Nuclear. I've set off several fire alarms wearing it.
Love this house. Bois d’Ascese is my favourite.

Protect Aaron at all costs
Protect him from what? is he under fire for something?
Great and fun video, thanks guys!

Pardon by Nasamatto has that lasting power also. Seems to grow with time.
There is no vintage formula of DHP. The formula for 2014 and 2020 are still the same only batch changes.
