    I have chronic pain from rheumatoid arthritis and I use my TENS unit on my knees when they start getting really bad and I find that the vibrations from the unit help make the whole knee feel much more flexible and loose. It may just be a case of mind over matter - but who cares? I feel better and that's all that counts!

    I was prescribed one after a car accident and couldn't believe how much it helped. So much so that when I wound up with a pinched nerve in my shoulder/shoulder blade area last year, I bought one. Not surprising, it helped that too. I can't say enough good about TENS units.

    I’m a dental hygienist and I love my wireless TENS unit. The only thing is I have to have my husband help put it on my back and I have to be able to reach it to turn it on. But it helps greatly with pain! Mine was less than $50, well worth it.

    I have torn meniscus and mild osteoarthritis in both knees and about two years ago, the VA provided me with a TENS unit which I have never used! I had no idea it could be that beneficial. I'll be pulling my TENS out and dusting it off this week. So glad this video came up in my YT recommendations!

    I had my L5-S1 replaced with titanium, due to a work-comp injury. I've had permanent nerve damage in one of my legs as a result, as well as severe Charley Horses, numbness and tingling, etc. I started with an external T.E.N.S., and I have had my internal T.E.N.S. since 2007. It was updated two years ago with the colored remote, through Boston Scientific. I am not a representative.😇
    For me the T.E.N.S. unit isn't the equivalent of pain medication. There is no substitution, depending on the severity. You still need those, unless mind fullness has been that effectual for the lucky; for they only combat the spasms producing the pain. That is separate from the pain, itself.
    Also, there is a reverberating feeling afterward, no matter how high its setting. That can be irritating. Most people forget to inform the curious. Last thing, it can feel like your’re walking on electricity, lol. But it i's a tremendous relief device for severely chronic pain survivors; especially for those with limited &/or painful mobility. You can get that extra mile of need, that would've been extremely and excruciatingly painful, otherwise.
    We suffer, but if we are still alive, we are fighters. Thanks!

      What’s an internal tens? Did you get a spinal cord stim? I’m literally sitting here right now using a tens and I don’t feel as much relief as I would like. I was shown how to use it in PT. Five months postop from spinal fusion, L5-S1, laminectomy, other repairs. Still in pain. Still on narcotics and just over it!

    • @mokpeku1969
      @mokpeku1969 2 года назад

      @@DayOneAdeleFans If you had your surgery for less than a year then you probably won't feel it. Boston Scientific is my manufacturer. Work with your adjustment specialist until they give you five Programs that you actually feel better. It's not the bullshit doctors tell you that it's “pain relief”. They don't know because they don't listen. All it does is take the edge off, at least for me. Try walking with it on outside, and you feel the difference, lol. STEMS just stop the source of the pain from increasing, and soothes that source. It's not pain relief. The medicine is for that. Let your experience tell you.
      You have to give your body a chance to adjust to a different you, in my experience, because the pain is deep. I'm still having problems with my back since my 2006 surgery. Duloxetine (Cymbalta) is a tremendous help.
      It takes more than a year to fully feel your spine feels better for some more than others. And, I'm sorry to break it to you but it's lifelong. You have to adjust to it. Make peace with that. Research what's best for you. But it's lifelong for us, unless you're in that lucky minority.
      I hope you eventually are.
      My ALIF caused my leg to become permanently nerves damaged. I take Lyrica. I also listen to I-Dozer. It's white noise that works for me. It's also soothing. And exercise. Exercise. Exercise. The more you do the better you are. Change your diet (Keto.). It's still extremely too new for you. And, PT (RUclips has excellent PTs who exercise for the disabled.).
      Five months is just too soon in my experience. Patience, because you'll need it. It's frustrating. I'm still dealing. I have PCOS, endometriosis, and cervical issues. I had a TKA, and I need another. If I can be patient, you can too. It could always be worse. Thank goodness you had no complications.

    I have numbing on whole left side of my body, from at least from neck to toes. 3 months before I get to see a neurologist. I asked about pain management and she threw her hands up, laughed and said it not an easy fix. And then no answer to my question. (I know what's mental abuse) I've asked about changing my blood pressure medicine because the medicine I'm on causes numbness for both medicines the medication works well to keep my blood pressure down but if that is what caused me to go numb why is my doctor still keep me on it and her cohorts another doctor in the nurse practitioner. I think because I spoke up about the situation about the medication causing problems they must fear that I'm a troublemaker and I am being ignored one doctor I saw told me that my doctor could do something to get me to see a neurologist sooner and she's not doing anything she hasn't even tried so I have to keep trying I have to call every day to see if they can move me up the line and I know that's almost impossible they've got a waiting list for up till October now I'm in August. I've had a tens unit for a couple years. And read somewhere that it could help this issue. Still researching thank you for being there I really appreciate all your helps that have helped me. Tens units are great unless your fairly hairy. The pads do not stick to hair. I have a Boston Scientific neuro stimulator implanted . Works like the tens but only covers the back and the stimulations can be increased to go down the legs. So that leaves no relief for the shoulders. I’ve found that steroid injections and biofreeze and Penetrex topicals work well for that.

      Depends on where your pain is exactly. I’m only using 2 of mine on one side of my back right now because that’s where the pain is.

    My neighbor who has schizophrenia puts his tens on his forehead. Should I be worried about him or is this is a thing his doctor would order him to do? Seems pretty bad to me
