- We were completely shocked by the stark contrast between the old and new of our first day out exploring in Kuala Lumpur! There is SO much to see and do. From the beauty of Petronas Twin Towers and the KLCC park and to the Senai KLCC Shopping Mall and the contrast to the Central Market in Chinatown, the shopping is vast and abundant! We tried the monorail which was incredibly efficient and easy to use and Grab is too! We walked a lot and saw so many historical and beautiful sites in this one FIRST IMPRESSION day in this beautiful city! Come and explore with us! Say hi to our RUclips friends @JacksonMarjo that you will see exploring with us through our Kuala Lumpur videos!

Hello welcome to Malaysia
Hi! Are you living in Kuala Lumpur? Thank you so much! We love Malaysia!
thanks for coming to malaysia guys....stay a little longer here...your channel will grow...
Thank you! Yes we have been here for 3 weeks but we focused on Langkawi for that time. We are here in Kuala Lumpur for one week but we definitely plan to return. We booked our summer exploring Indonesia, Malaysia and then Philippines for one month each but we travel full time so returning is the plan! Thank you for the support and encouragement!
Msian independent day 31/8/2023 coming soon u can see the parade during that day.
Yes we've just learned about that! I love parades. Have you gone to see them?
Central market is for arts and handicrafts
Yes it is a beautiful place to wander. We plan to return to both markets to do a little shopping and another video. Today's video was to learn about the areas etc.
One Important and interesting historical fact about Central Market is that it was once a wet market selling fishes and vegetables before it was converted into traditional art and cultural market many years ago😅😅😊
@@tansiewhock oh interesting!
Enjoy yr stay..
Thank you 🙏🏼
The sign that said "Bersama kita menjaga kebersihan kawasan ini - Sayangi Kuala Lumpur - Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur" is not the name of the area. It is a public notice. Loosely, it translates to "Together we keep this area clean - Treasure(Love) Kuala Lumpur - City Hall Kuala Lumpur".
Ahhh that makes sense! Thank you for sharing and taking the time to let me know!

Thank you for your this wonderful video, and for your first impressions, Welcome to KL, Malaysia. I hope that you guys have had a good time in KL and also Langkawi.
Bahasa Malaysia is very easy to learn, in terms of pronunciation, the vowels are phonetically articulated as per a e i o u in the words. You are doing just fine with pronouncing the Malay words.
Menjaga kebersihan kawasan ini ...means keep this area clean .
Ahhh yes very important! Thank you!
Go to putrajaya..you won't regret..

A 'u' in Bahasa Malaysia is almost always pronounced as 'oo'. e.g. Tun is pronounced as 'toon'. Anjung Tinjau (i.e the observation deck) is pronounced as Un-joong Teen-jow as in 'how'. Hire me and you'll be speaking Bahasa Malaysia like the local pretty quick.😬
Oh thank you those are wonderful pointers! I love language but it's so difficult to really learn them all when traveling quickly! The language sound beautiful. Thank you for the help.
Hello from Melaka. Nice video, hope you enjoying Malaysia .
Since you've been here for quite a while, perhaps you do know some Malay words but I will help you a little bit more.
Jalan = street / road (also means walk)
Bukit = hill
Nanas/Nenas = pineapple
Air = water
Minum = drink
Apa = what
Khabar = hello
Apa khabar = how are you
Selamat = safe
Pagi = morning
Selamat pagi = good morning
Terima = take
Kasih = care
Terima kasih = thank you
Nasi = rice
Ayam = chicken
Goreng = fry/fried
Mi / Mee = noodles
Thank you in chinese mandarin is xie xie.
In Indian Tamil is nandri.
The rivers of life is where Kuala Lumpur got its name from.
Kuala = river mouth
Lumpur = mud
Kuala lumpur = muddy confluence
The signboard saying Terima Kasih Kerana Menjaga Kebersihan Kawasan Ini means thank you for not littering this area.
Thank you so much!
I think you can't go up the Twin Tower at night. For a better view you guys can go up the sky deck at KL Tower at night. If not mistaken there are no time limit at KL Tower but the Twin Tower for only about 1 hour.
Oh ok that's very helpful information! I will look into it all to make sure before we go! Thank you for the heads up. In Canada, in Toronto (where I was born) we have the CN Tower which is quite similar to the one here in Kuala Lumpur. It reminds me of home!

if you want to see more interesting street art you have to go to Penang (Plau Pinang) I'm sure you will be excited... there are also many interesting places you have to visit..

As a KLite I find the contrasts between diffetent parts of KL intriguing....aftet sevaral years whol areas will have diffetent demographic and cultural shifts as the citt attracts more Malaysians from other states and migrants from abroad who add flavor to Klang Valley
Yes it’s wonderful 🙏🏼
KL is all about walking and discovering and a bit of research. That area from the Merdeka Square, River of life, Masjid Jamek, Central market and Chinatown is where the city came to birthed. It's hot and humid but that's the best way to discover hidden gems and pockets of interests in KL. There are also lots of museums and galleries here and there and specifically, areas like Kampung Baru, Brickfields, Chow Kit which hold a lot of history for the city. The Chow Kit market is amazing, to me anyway...just so many things to see 😍 Don't forget Bkit Bintang, Jln Alor or Cangkat B Bintang for a some nightlife. Anyway, hope you will discover more of KL and understand its charms and magic
Thank you so much for the suggestions! 15:10 waterfront area is the "kuala" (river confluence).
The river confluence was a Malay village. In the past the Sultan of Selangor had British advisers.
The British acquired Malay village to build administration center. The Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad (Sultan Abdul Samad Building) and other old buildings in that area were government offices.
The Sultan of Selangor granted a new area which is known as Kampung Baru (literally New Village) to the Malays.
