Suggestion for the kids ---> Take them to Taman Tasik Perdana (Lake Garden) .. There you can find bird sanctuary, butterfly park, National Mosque, Islamic Museum, Planetarium. For fun ... there are Times Square (roller coaster), Genting Highland (loads of things for kids), One Utama (sky diving, surfing, games arcades, Sunway Pyramid (water theme and others). Also try Movie theater that are kids friendly

Average Malaysian weather nationwide between 24 C - 32 C at lowland, and highlands eg Genting Highlands, Cameron Highlands, Fraser Hill, Maxwell Hill between 14 C - 26 C, and in Mt Kinabalu in Sabah the lowest -4 C. Cameron Highlands ever get the coldest weather 7.8 C. Now is the monsoon season hence the weather much cooler, compared to dry season the hottest can be up to 36 C during afternoon.

Dominic and I talked about this frequently. We live in South Korea and many people do speak some english but we still encounter some communication barriers. In Malaysia, everyone seemed to speak English and most people spoke fluently. We were in awe at how many people spoke many different languages. I especially enjoyed listening to the radio in Malaysia! It was a real treat to be in a taxi and to understand what people are saying on the radio.

There is indoor theme park at berjaya times square, 5th floor, next to lalaport .
If you are a food lover, try Ramly burger, ICC pudu (authentic local food like charcoal egg tarts, Chinese yellow rice wine chicken bun, Fried Chinese rice cake with sweet potato and yam); apam balik,Tau Fu Fa & Koon Kee Wan Tan Mee (at petaling street), Claypot Chicken Rice @ 168 Coffee Shop (near ICC pudu). However, I would not recommend having dinner at Jalan Alor Street Night market, is too expensive and the food quality so so only.
For night market, recommend SS2 night market (every Monday, Petaling Jaya) and Taman Connaught Night Market (every Wednesday)
KL Highland - can see night view ok Kuala Lumpur

Welcome to Malaysia! I'm guessing by now y'all know that Nov-Mar is the northeast monsoon season here in Malaysia, which typically translates to lotsa rain, cooler weather, and floods. Avg temp now is roughly 25-32 degrees celcius.
End May/early June to Sep is the southwestern monsoon season when it is relatively drier (dry season) & the temp can be as high as 36 degrees (but feels like in the 40s).
Of course, being a tropical country, it tends to be humid.

It looks like you guys landed at KLIA2 which is the terminal for second tier and budget airlines. Hence the terminal reflects that. KLIA (1) is the main one and although not to the same level as Changi in terms of design and amenities but is equivalent in standard in terms of a first tier airport.

    • @NewFoundLands

@@NewFoundLands you need to take note whether it's klia, or klia 2.
Klia 2 is the smaller airport for budget airlines, but actually it's located just next to the klia. Several years ago it was situated slightly further away in the same locality and that terminal was called the lcct (low cost carriers terminal) which was built primarily to cater for our homegrown budget airline air asia, but pretty soon that terminal became too small to cater for the big jump in popularity of budget airlines especially air asia ofc.
In terms of practical shops within the terminal, I personally prefer klia 2, with its food court(s?) and grocery supermarket (jaya grocer)
