  • This Japanese amusement park has a reputation...and not a good one. Countless horror stories surround it regarding incredibly slow dispatches, which lead to terribly long lines. But is it all true? We paid Fuji-Q a visit and decided to put them to the test!

      Penguino Sei I had a similar experience, the people there are so unfailingly polite. This makes me wonder whether they’re more geared towards safety or guest happiness (shorter wait times) based on their general politeness.

      Very true. I remember I asked this lady in Kyoto for instructions and she accidentally sent me the wrong way. 3 mins later and I’m pretty far down the road, I hear her screaming after me and chasing me lol and then she told me that I’m going the wrong way. And then she even took one of my suitcases and pulled it down the road ❤️ I almost cried when we said bye, because I’ve never ever experienced such a helpful gesture from a stranger like this, not even in my own country.

    A major part of the problem at fuji Q is the abundance of low throughput rides and single trains that contribute heavily to the long lines there.

  • @EmmaGranger99
    @EmmaGranger99 4 года назад +11

    The problem I found with Fuji Q was not the speed of the ride ops, but rather, the time between unloading one train and the next train being allowed to board (a couple minutes in between) and then also how slowly it took people to actually get to their seats. Once people were actually seated the ops checked the restraints relatively quickly, it was just the lag time in between that made it take forever. So I don’t think this video is super representative of how slow the dispatches are but I’ve also only been once.

    • @madelinegarber7860
      @madelinegarber7860 4 года назад +1

      Twisted Timbers wasn’t that bad when I rode it. It was running 2 trains for once. Dispatches were a bit slow, but that was because they were having a new kid do it while someone with more experience watched him. Which meant I very nearly avoided getting stapled by asking both of them to leave me room. The only time I had to wait some was the second time I rode. It was near closing and it was raining so they were taking a train off while we were in the station. Then we had to wait for a few trains to go. SFA is worse.

    Regarding the slow operations, the coasters that had bad times seemed to also either have slow boarding or were particularly complex rides, which explains some of the slowness. There's also the fact that some of the riders took their time boarding the rides.

    After visiting Fuji-Q yesterday, my experience was the roller coaster dispatches were decent on time and the waits weren’t long. It was the flat rides that were completely ridiculous. A single dispatch on tentekomai and tondemina took over 10 minutes which is just complete insanity. 20-30 minute wait times for literally 2 dispatches of a ride was so infuriating.

    As Joan Jett says- Fuji Q doesn't give a damn about their bad reputation..... Because they have some of the best coasters in the world. You are going regardless of their operations...

    • @brianpatterson1827
      @brianpatterson1827 4 года назад

      They also receive double the amount of rain in a year than Seattle Washington gets lol. So that could also be part of the problem. The fact that they even have coasters running during rainfall is a + in my book never mind the slow operations. In six flags great adventure near me (without the flash pass I'd not even go) shuts down the best rides if a drop of rain falls lol. So yeah that's my take anyway. It would be as I'm a meteorologist so my first thoughts when going to an amusement park is "Are Thunderstorms or Rain in the Forecast" lol.

    Fujiyama has lines on one side of the track and the storage lockers are on the opposite side. So essentially, when it is your turn to ride, you have to walk through the cart to get to the lockers, then after securing your stuff, you have to come back to the cart to take your seat. Poor planning and logistics but the ride is awesome!

  • @kryn1030
    @kryn1030 4 года назад

    I went earlier this week and I won't lie, I thought the operations were awful. When they were loading the train it was fine, but they kept doing these drawn-out safety briefings before hand and they also did Eejanaika with only one train, which was pretty ridiculous. Basically, the operations are that one glaring flaw in an otherwise outstanding theme park.

    I know this video is old. But man, I grew up going to Europapark (like every Swiss in the Germanside of the country does) and I wasn't prepared for the low capacity. Like come on, what's that with Eejanaika. Only 1 train in operation? But one hour line? Like wtf... Get more ready and let them go. At least 2 or better 3 trains. Because you wait so long, even if you are ready.... Like WTF...
    Okay, Eejanaika is heavier than every ride in Europapark added up, but even then....
    I did not know that the slow operation is known. I was really surprised.
    The thing is, the operation itself is not very slow, but the waiting in between is so annoing. Even if you are ready with your shoes off, you have to wait another minute until your train comes. In this time you would have time to get even some passangers get to the seats ect.
    Same goes with the other coasters. I didn't hear a lot of coasters going on. But you had to wait for about a hour or more. In Europapark you see so many trains going on, but even then you wait about 1h or even more - for Silverstar or Bluefire you usually wait about 1-2h on a busy day.

    The operations weren't that slow at all, la ronde has still the worst operations

    They don't have bad operations, they just prioritize safety over speed. There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, it takes a while, but they gotta do what they gotta do. (This is coming from a coaster operator btw)

    From what I've seen in this video, I don't think Fuji Q deserves the title of "worst operations" anymore. La Ronde is far more deserving of that tile now, IMO...

    I’ve seen worse at sfog actually there’s can be horrible at times and sometimes they only run 1 train like how hard is it to load and unload I get safety but still come on sometimes I wonder if sfog doesn’t higher the right people cause they be lazy on the jobs!!!

    Seems like an American Parks. Ride operators are not really coaster enthusiasts that's why it seems like they don't even care that everybody is talking about how poor the ride operations are. If I found out that everybody talking bad about my job I would try to at least change or bring it to park operations attention.
