10:02 also that's a first for me! I've never seen a monster change its mind right during a screen transition before. Zinogre clearly is about to go to area 5, stops and turns around, thinks about going to area 7, decides against it, and then goes to area 5.
I actually saw this a few times when recording this (I did a few Zinogre in order to get all the parts for the Zin HH) - I wonder if it has something to do with Zin's AI on this specific map, like his pathing gets a little "confused" when limp or when trying to leave the area. Quite odd, indeed.
Ahh, another Ristretto upload to watch while eating snacks :3 I'm gonna be honest here, I started up a new playthrough of MHP3rd after my last save file got... corrupted... Either way! I thought to myself to try out the weapons I don't play much, and this video got uploaded like, an hour after I did the 2* village Bulldrome quest with bow And the fact that I also beat the intrusion Jinouga after like... 25 mins?? Bow isn't one of my best weapons yet, but like, I feel confident in my ability to use it already (even if I carted twice, and was practically on my last legs, again-) Either way, I got a successful capture on the same monster as well, and I'm happy about that :3 As always, love your content, even if I sometimes can't find the time to relax and watch more, I'm just thankful that I have some free time today -w- Merry Christmas, and happy hunting!!!
Congrats on the early Zinogre with bow! Figuring out the ranged matchups on monsters can feel totally different than when you’re going at them with a melee weapon. :) Merry Christmas and happy hunting to you, too!
I lost my P3rd save file when i was almost reaching Amatsu in the hub. I imagine how much more painful it would be to lose a G RANK save file on 3U, for example.
@@athos9293 Awwh man, thank goodness you weren't at the point I was at, I literally had just gotten the guild card relic thingy for beating Akantor, Ukanlos and Alatreon, I got so mad that my save corrupted smh... But losing a save for one of the games with a G-Rank expansion, man... like, especially when you're close to beating the entire game... actual misery to lose so much...
@@ito_yukina On a positive note, you at least have the determination to go back and replay the game. My thought process was: "i can fight the P3rd subspecies in 3U, experience Yukumo and Amatsu in GU, and overall get pretty much all of P3rd's content from other games, except Akantor's arena, which is replaced by the Ingle Isle in 4U"
Stygian Zinogre's first measure once he gained the ability to withstand the Tundra's freezing temperatures was to go there and exterminate every single lagombi in an act of vengeance
Don't worry! I'll keep recording hunts with commentary pretty often,, I'll probably just put out "extra hunts" like this without it sometimes, too. I make these when I don't have the time/energy for commentary recordings, so they really are "extra" in the sense that I probably wouldn't have recorded this hunt otherwise. More SnS soon - maybe even a "Christmas" special this week. :) Cheers!
it's interesting to me that the tranqs didn't decay below the threshold of needing 2, well over 2 minutes since you first applied them 9:14 / 11:37 they lasted awhile
Yeah, this was a little weird - I was def over-optimistic on the first trap being able to capture, but he was weak not long afterward. That and him like "shimmying" when trying to leave area 6, too.
Don't worry! The commentary on hunts will remain, I'll probably just put out "extra hunts" like this without it sometimes, too. I make these when I don't have the time/energy for commentary recordings, so they really are "extra" in the sense that I probably wouldn't have recorded this hunt otherwise, haha.

1:25 gotta love the comically bad luck of getting waterblighted by a small monster right the start of the hunt, while using a stamina-heavy weapon.
