I love to shop. Your videos just make my day. I don't go out shopping as much as I did since I am 83, but I love watching you and your husband. The perfect couple.
Many years ago I made so many macrame pieces and one was a light with a table together. It was awesome. I gave it to my brother when he moved to Florida. He passed away suddenly and I was so lucky to get it back because a bunch of his stuff was stolen after he passed. I still have it.
I live 1.5 hours away from where Penguin ice buckets were made and had never in my nearly 72 years seen one in a home, thrift store or rummage sale. You introduced me to it. Imagine my excitement when I found one “in the wild” for $3.99. You are right, it is sitting on my hutch! Love your channel!
Yep I'd be calling them by the next day, and having it shipped. They might negotiate you never know. .. definitely be kicking myself for not getting it
I think the owl (and earrings) are by a Native American artist named Nathan Corn. I had a ring of his, and the style was very similar. The stamp on the owl looked Mexican, and Nathan did live in Juarez. Not 100% positive but very strong feeling. Love the channel keep up the good work. edit Look for a letter N somewhere in the work, not for Nathan but Native.
@@leftcoastrevivals Get a REESE car rooftop carrier woman or ask if there is a packrat in the store. We know how to rearrange stuff. Just tell us we have to throw some of it away.
Yes the black, white and brass rotating condiment would’ve taken lots of thought but…I would’ve got it. Especially since you enjoy gourmet salts for the bowls. And you instantly had 2 places in mind for it. I sure hope you get one someday so we can live vicariously😍
That penguin ice box has been in three different videos in different stores that I’ve watched videos of yours. The funny thing is back when my parents got married. They’re gone now in 1954. They got one of those for their wedding present and I have it.
The name of the city comes from the French word dalle, meaning either "sluice", akin to English "dale" and German T[h]al, "valley", or "flagstone", referring to the columnar basalt rocks carved by the river[5][6] (in voyageur French used to refer to rapids), which was used by the French-Canadian employees of the North West Company to refer to the rapids of the Columbia River between the present-day city and Celilo Falls. Also in the same area was the Petites Dalles or Little Dalles, or Short Narrows. In French, "les dalles" means "the slabs". When a river flows over hard flat rocks, it becomes shallow, and rapids are created.
Came hear to say that but also add this. The rapids of a river that flow between the walls of a canyon or gorge. The word is French in origin. Fur traders often used the term to describe areas with narrow, rocky river channels. For example, the Columbia River's rapids at The Dalles, Oregon were the largest and longest of the four "great portages" used by fur trading boats.
I’ve taken flatware boxes and ripped out the insides, decoupaged the inside and painted the outside to use to hold game pieces. Martha Stewart gave me the idea. I sold them and never took a picture of one completed. They would also make great places to hide small electronics you’re charging. You’d just need to drill holes for the plugs.
😉 I commented on the video where Laura kept saying BergaMONT. Pretty sure she didn’t appreciate it. I love her and have been following since she was filming with what’s her name who I never watch since Laura went independent. It makes me happy seeing Laura do way better without her and I love that Jesse is coming along more and more. They’re Fabulous !
The little ostrich you picked up at the second place is made from Bali parasite wood. The tail fan is the part of the wood that clings to its host wood.
Holy smokes. Great finds, great choices, and you showed such restraint! The last shop was really incredible. It's one of the best antiques stores I've seen. Thanks for another great video. You two are naturals and very enjoyable to watch. The photography and editing are super.
Just thinking that the owl pendant looks more like a bat to me. The wings especially! Great video again Laura. Love when Jesse is with you and the laughs you share!
The first mark on the owl pendent is She Who Watches, a Columbia River stone icon. Looking at the owl, it has the same type of line work, at least to my eye. I've seen buttons and pendents with similar work, mostly in pewter. Might give you a starting place. Maybe hit up Maryhill museum?
I was laughing at Jesse’s face when you were showing the earrings. He looked so confused why they were different lengths 😂 Great finds. I’m excited to hear how much the lamp will be sold for. I’m sure it will go pretty quickly it is beautiful.
What a great trip! I can see that light planter in Little Italy! The 80s earrings really brought it back for me! Lots of hair mouse in our asymmetrical hair cuts. With our floral satin blazers! Hope you get a thousand dollars for the lamp!❤
Not me sick in bed catching up on awesome videos! I love living in the PNW again and can't wait to hit some of the places you post that I've not seen before!
I actually thought it was upside down and maybe more like a scarab. See the end of the owl is typically where you have the necklace/chain. Beautiful piece no matter how you wear it, though! 🌸
Another great video, Laura and Jesse. Oh, that beautiful cabinet, so gorgeous 😍 Side note: Your videos upload Saturday morning in Australia, Laura. So I usually make my breakfast and sit and watch you... Now my little chihuahua girl hears your voice and sits up and stares at me if I haven't made 'our' toast! If I don't stop the video and make it, I get the classic chihuahua side eye until I do. She even did it the other afternoon, too, when I rewatched an old video 😂 Needless to say, my Zoe loves your videos a lot ❤🤣
My friend has a genius woodworking son who is only 20 and I’m going to send him a clip of the maple cabinet to make himself. It was so gorgeous and unique!
The owl pendant is absolutely stunning!! The stamps are very small on my phone so I could be wrong, but the top one looks like the She-Who-Watches petroglyph in the Gorge, so maybe it’s a local artisan?
Your owl pendant looks like a frog to me! I love when the 2 of you shop. And Jesse is kitch!! Thanks for the best content. I have learned so much from you. Blessings always. ❤❤❤
Jesse is the best when you came to that jewellery cabinet and Jesse said “wont be seeing you in a few hours” smiling 👍🐨❤️🦘so much great stuff today it’s amazing.🐨 yes that cabinet is stunning it’s a keeper go back ❤
I have found my self watching your channel nearly everytime I am on you tube,I get the biggest kick when Jesse joins you he seems like the perfect thrifting partner , he seems so proud when he finds something that you love. One reason I enjoy your channel is because you make the information that you share about evrything so easy to remember , I Have tried to keep up with others but I seem to loose interest very early on in their videos, I am actully from Southern Oregon so seeing all the diffrent goodwills and various shops around other parts of Oregon is so much fun . There are not as many great places in my area as there are in the Portland metro area, but there are a few. I am hoping to plan a vacation to Portland in the near future seeing your videos have inspired me so much to go visit and check out some of the thrift stores and antique shops I otherwise would have never thought about if it was not for watching your channel . If you ever deside to come near me , (Medford ),we do have a huge 30,000 square foot antique shop downtown and a salvation Army and st Vincent DE Paul that can have some great stuff along with a few goodwills that are decent, The City of Ashland I feel like you would absolutely love , it has some really nice little shops that are locally owned and have a lot of the same type of items that you show and buy . Anyway, Thank you for all the information you give and all the amazing finds you share .
Hi, Jennifer. I’m in southern oregon, too (Grants Pass) and am over your way a lot. Laura actually has shown a couple of trips down here you should check out if you haven’t seen them. I think one was last summer when she did a solo roadtrip from PDX on her way to California and Vegas. She ended up coming back via Klamath Falls and Bend. She found some amazing things including at Crafters Market in Medford. Enjoy your thrifts, and definitely get up to PDX, so much to see!
I love watching you shop. You do such a great job showing items you buy and how to style. It’s great that you remind us to look for damages ( chips, cracks, etc)
Go back and get the condiment set it’s a once only piece all together! Forever piece. The cabinet was a must as well. Funny with the thou shall not steal cookie jar that my grandmother had one here in New Zealand
The one thing I like about you is you have class. If it's a high priced item you may ask for something off but otherwise you don't and I like that about you cuz you're already going to make quite a bit of money on everything you sell. So thank you. ❤
I don't think your living room is extremely cluttered, I actually love it as it is and I think the lamp fits in perfectly and still giving it its spot light, I think the inspiration photo is too minimalist
Totally here for the “Jesse kitsch” LOL 😆. That cabinet was stunning! Your jewelry haul was wonderful!! ~ Your pendant totally looks like an abstract female form to me!
Yes! Go back and get that cabinet!!
Yes! Yes you should go get that cabinet right now!!
That cabinet was incredible probably bespoke.
Agree
The cabinet for $165 and the black and white set for table at $125 are both amazing and unique….turn around and go get them!!!
That cabinet over a bar would look like art, then surprise! holds the glasses.
The name of the city of The Dalles, Oregon, which comes from French words meaning "rapids of a river through a narrow gorge"
GET THE CABINET…GET THE CABINET! Also the condiment set is EVERYTHING! I love the two of you together❤️

The cabinet for $165 and the black & white serving set- you need that in your life🙂🙃😁

That art nouveau copper kettle blew my mind! 🤯
Mine too! 😮
Regarding the condiments set - O stands for Öl (oil) and E stands for Essig (vinegar).

I use mine. It took a couple of years to find one that was not all dented and scratched.
I had 3 of them , all from thrift stores. I sold one for $40. But Laura doesn't like them so much but I love mine.
I love my penguin ice bucket, I use it all the time when we entertain🤷♀️
Yes on condiment server. So cool!! May Never see it again. Go go get it!!
Yes I would have bought the black and white set for $125. I could hear in both your voices how much you liked it.
I agree with this statement, but the other question it’s how much would it retain its value should you redesign your kitchen?
I would have bought it to. Too unique to leave behind.
Yep I'd be calling them by the next day, and having it shipped. They might negotiate you never know. .. definitely be kicking myself for not getting it
I would have asked for a discount on the condiment set. It was beautiful. You could easily get your money back if you change decor.
Go back for the cabinet. A steal @ $165! You couldn't find that quality in any furniture store today.
If you are going back for the cabinet, then stop in and get that black & white table centerpiece spinney thing. One of a kind!!
The fly swatter clock “ Time flies “
😂
@@leftcoastrevivals And they could noy have been sold at Flea Markets, but at Fly Markets! ( can't believe I just said that!) :)
Omg, you didn't get the cabinet? Please run back to get it!
I thought it was about “killing time”, lol. 🪳 ⏰

That bedspread is BEAUTIFUL! Great price, too! It's kind of hard to read Jesse's opinion of the earrings. 😄
Fun what you see in art. I see a frog in your owl necklace. Love watching you two together.

It would look fabulous in Jesse basement project
Jesse is such a doll!! Laura, we love you guys.
There is something just so cute about the two of you! Apart from your talent and good taste.
The wooden cubes are Chinese story dice. Even the small sets are very expensive so $75-100 each for huge ones is great! Hope that helps!
