These videos are invaluable. You can say "compote" all day long, but seeing a picture of you holding it makes it real to us. New collectors may have never seen "hobnail" before, or don't have a clue what "reticulated" means. Lusterware, gilding, impressed pink and green glass, tourist pieces, studio pieces, mold number vs date, German serving piece...I could go on and on. It's like having your own antiques dictionary or encyclopedia with the visual effects. This is so helpful! Thank you for the time you took to film it.
You're from my area of PA. Was from Shippensburg, Carlyle area . My grandmother lived in newville pa all her life. Love it there. Wish I still lived there. Looks like vintage shopping is great!
Dr, Lori thank you for ALL that have been doing to educate me as well as ALL of your Followers. I have just gotten my 1st EVER 4 x 6 booth in a local mall and I am SSSSOOO excited to be apart of the resale market. Trying to offer love and appreciation of vintage and antiques to my small area of the world. I would NOT have had the NERVE with out YOUR teaching and encouragement. THANK YOU SWEET LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr Lori you are so encouraging to watch. I always appreciate and enjoy coming along with you. No matter how many times you take us along I’m so impressed at how knowledgeable you are. You are the best. ❤❤❤
Dr. Lori, i love your shows so absolutely going to follow. I think it has to be said, prices are only what the consumer will pay, and so many people watch this, ( including Goodwill) and think "my goodness, how rich these resellers must be." 😳 what is not said, resellers pay for products, clean, then research and price(time is not free). With business costs, they can be 30 to 40% on each sale, which can include gas costs, wrapping and most likely shipping materials costs. Dont forget the stock doesn't sale overnight so cost of carrying stock. Being a reseller costs money. Don't go into it blind, it is a business. But if you are just collecting pretties, Goodwill has great prices.😊
Hi Dr. Lori. I'm surprised that some have such negative comments about your videos. I think your videos are great. Your not rude. I like you are blunt. I am as well . I learn so much from you . I love old stuff and have even when I was little. I always wanted items from the dump that were nice or interesting. I watch you many hours daily for many reasons. Intrest, depression, boredom, exercise my brain because of trauma. You are so healthy for me and I am extremely thankful. I cant afford to go anywhere so you entertain me . Thank you for all you do. ❤
Such a nice store! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I love these videos. Its improved my thrift shopping for sure, a more informed buyer too. I dont resell. I sometimes just add pieces to my mismatched plates collection. But you know maybe someday...selling/shipping costs and shipping fragile items safely is something I may research. I purchased a franciscan, desert rose (made in US) piece from an online shop once and it arrived broken, so improperly wrapped and shipped..it wouldnt have made it down the street let alone from several states over. Seller was fair, did get a refund...but the plate! It was so pretty!🙂
You are extremely knowledgeable!! I just cannot believe everything you are finding that your Goodwill no matter which one I go to regardless of the neighborhood it just seems like a bunch of junk! The fact that you’re finding that many finds in one is amazing
You’re so incredibly intelligent yet still have a fun side to you. You are the type of person anyone would love to hang out with. I very much enjoy your videos. 😊
I get so excited when I see you shopping at Goodwill. Wish I was there. Love the German plate and the Japanese set. What a nice assortment today. Bargains galore!
Love how you chat with the camera like we're really there with you. Very personable and charming. You also make it fun to be on the hunt with you; all the while sharing your knowledge and passion for vintage glass. Thanks!
Thanks bunches, Dr. Lori! I love when you do these thrifting videos! I get so much motivation , inspiration and knowledge! I hope you have a wonderful week! 🌻
I shop a whole lot like you. I move things around and dig. I'm always treasure hunting. The things I love personally, I display in my home for a while, then sell them later. Other things, it's for resale or gifting. Anyway, I consider myself a winner. Thank you for continuing educating me. You have amazing insight which can't be bought.
Dr. Lori, I don’t know much about old items but I’m dang sure learning fro you. I just know you and I would have a great time out to lunch and shopping. I love to laughter and smile and you’re a fun girl too. Love ya Dr Lori. Enjoy and have a blessed week.I’m going to check your videos to answer a question I have about milk glass.
I love this 'Shopping With Dr. Lori'" format! You give us real world, on the ground advice (PLUS, I'm somewhat handicapped at present, so I appreciate going along for the ride with you).
Thank you Dr.Lori! Love your videos. I also love studio pottery and have some for you to look at for me. I had a video call with you last month and I want to thank you again for your time, kindness, and expertise!
Simply fascinating and a CLEAN Thrift Store really not to far away for a local trip! Thanks Dr. Lori ... OMG the stuff I used to throw away when I volunteered at a shop. Now I know why they called me the 'garbage man' even though the intake far surpassed our sales.
My values are based on what people really pay based on actual sales. Have you watched my video "Stop Quoting eBay Listings! I’m Sick of It and Here is Why" at ruclips.net/video/mDBSI2wV0gk/видео.html ?
LOVE THAT gold Germany plate❗❗❗❗❗Thank You!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️Have been watching for likely 5 years different places N you have replied to me in the past. You certainly do not need today!!! Gonna get out there . ❤️❤️❤️ THANKS A LOT Happy Lady!!!
We sometimes feel something is overlooked but from my experience when people are ready to let go they box things up and get rid of them. Even my mom, when her husband passed she took boxes and boxes of things (milkglass, , depression glass, pfaltzgraff-one set was 100 pieces, my grandmothers silver trays/pots) to a Goodwill and she felt good about the fact that GW might profit from it.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and teaching method. You don't just tell us a value. You teach us the why's, where's, who's, and what ifs. You have a passion for what you do, and it shows. Again, thank you. I watch your videos and then watch them again. I am then able to go to your website and search for anything I want to learn about. It's usually something I have already seen or read, but I need a refresher sometimes. You never disappoint!
9:26 Jackpot! 12:13 You find all of the Rockwell mugs in one place and don't need to travel elsewhere. That's worth a considerable value alone. No wear&tear on the car, no additional driving which is drudgery not paying us enough, no road rage chances, no fender bender keeping that insurer upgrading their marine boating equipment but more important-out time. These videos essentially stress "let the buyer beware" providing marketing insider info that leads us, the buyers to value-concious decision-making. Great videos.
I love that when I go to the thrift stores and Goodwill stores, I am able to recall so much just from watching your videos. You are truly appreciated more than you know.
I'm really enjoying you taking us out shopping, an giving advice. Its helpful knowing what would be a nice piece w/ value to put in our homes Or as alot of people are doing lately, Reselling. Your keeping it fun, Thank you !!
Wow, I just stumbled upon this video this morning. I just go to the thrift shops to replace my drinking glasses but I’m gonna start keeping an eye out for this kind of stuff. Thank you for sharing.😊
Oh, thanks Dr. Lori, picked up a "gravy" bowl... now I know it's a sauce boat? bowl? I mentioned I may have it but purchased it anyway. Yep, now I have two. Goodwill lady said good to have two, one for each end of the table. Great cashier. The whole set is Ekco Intl. Golden Autumn... So thankful for your expertise. 🏆
Omg you are a gem!!! I love thrifting and have recently really gotten serious about it as a hobby. Just in this video alone you've taught me so much! I definitely recognized some things I've missed and others I've lucked out on and still have...im excited!!!
Love watching you!! This trip was fun and such a great learning experience!! I told my husband you were my new "on line" class!! Thanks a bunch Dr. Lori for being such a great professor! Blessings from Iowa

I just discovered your videos today, absolutely love them. I can't believe how cheap your second-hand items are compared to where I live in the UK. Thrifting is my favourite last time. Love your videos.
The tea sets and plates and creamers would not bring that amount of money in my area. Same with Lenox. How would you suggest marketing to reach an audience willing to pay that amount? Thank you.
My values are based on what people really pay based on actual sales. Have you watched my videos that focus on reselling? Have you read my articles on my website at www.DrLoriV.com where I talk about reselling? I also offer classes on reselling.

Wish you had picked up that burgundy piece of art pottery on the top shelf and looked at the steins. The German tray was nice. Thanks for sharing your visit.
Hi Dr Lori. Glad you are doing a show in Lewistown. I live in the area and shop at the Burnham store quite often. Thanks for pointing out what you would pick up and their value
Hi there, Dr. Lori! 👋 At 8:09 there was a pitcher with two matching cups with daisies. Is that something that would have value? 10:31 the Lenox bird dish!! I've been looking for that for years! Great find. And oh, that lustre ware set you found!! Melt my heart!! Love ya.

Oh so educational Dr. Lori. Thank you so much for doing this. Where were you shopping? I’m so so jealous but happy for you. I’d never find one of those beautiful pieces in Sav. GA guess there’s a lot of collectors here that don’t donate. Please keep these type of videos coming.
The goodwill’s in Knoxville, Tennessee are nothing like any of the ones you shop at. We have local “community” thrift stores of “ charity but they are extremely overpriced! Glad you have those in PA. I’m jealous 😊
I attended an estate sale this past weekend and they had several reticulated plates. I passed them up because I had so many other things I was purchasing. I should have gone back on the last day of sale because everything was 75% off. Not sure if they would have still been there, though.

So fun!!! I love lustreware. I only have set of four ramekins but they’re well used and loved. ❤
I also got seasick on cruise to Bermuda because we left from NY and water was rough. But once there, it was beautiful!
If you live near a Goodwill this well stocked , you are very fortunate!!!!
0:18 Isn’t ceramics, glassware, and figurines where everyone heads.
New jeans, shirts, can be purchased new at box stores, correct?

Hi Dr Lori. Glad you are doing a show in Lewistown. I live in the area and shop at the Burnham store quite often. Thanks for pointing out what you would pick up and their value
Beautiful painted teacups and plates. I also LOVE the Norman Rockwell mugs. I would buy those weather they were valuable or not, I just love them!
Hi there, Dr. Lori! 👋
At 8:09 there was a pitcher with two matching cups with daisies. Is that something that would have value?
10:31 the Lenox bird dish!! I've been looking for that for years! Great find.
And oh, that lustre ware set you found!! Melt my heart!!

Thanks!
Thank you!!
LOVE This shop along. Learning so much. All I can say is Houston GWs must have already been picked over or no one gives this nice of stuff to them.
Thank you Dr.Lori. Very informative. Learning so much from you❤
Love to learn from you shopping !
Thank you Dr. Lori ❤. You bring new meaning to the phrase…YOU ROCK!!! 💃💃💃💃♥️♥️
Thank you for the lesson on what to look for. Appreciate your time and expertise.
You are almost a different person when you are in this element. Love it!
You mean nice, kind, and smart... I'm the same everywhere. Thanks for watching.
Had to look up the Lenox picture frame to see what they're selling for. Not sure how you came to a value of $35, but they're selling for no more than $15 on eBay, and there is very little demand for them. Am I missing something?
My values are based on what people really pay based on actual sales. Have you watched my video "Stop Quoting eBay Listings! I’m Sick of It and Here is Why" at ruclips.net/video/mDBSI2wV0gk/видео.html
You have by far the best channel ever! Very informative and I love the fact that you put most things back.
Have you watched my video on complaints about thrift stores at ruclips.net/video/243hr0v34ss/видео.html ?
I attended an estate sale this past weekend and they had several reticulated plates. I passed them up because I had so many other things I was purchasing. I should have gone back on the last day of sale because everything was 75% off. Not sure if they would have still been there, though.
Thank you so much for taking up your time to educate us. Much appreciated. Will definitely continue to watch your videos and try to learn.
You passed up an olive painted ceramic napkin holder. I would’ve taken that one in a second, but love thrifting with you!
I so appreciate your expertise and advice. Thanks. While there is no thrift store here, I'll know what to look for in the future 😉
and online when you shop too.
I learn so much from shopping with you!
I like to pick up milk glass of all sorts. They are such practical pieces and the white is always so cheery and even on trend now.
THANKYOU SO SO MUCH!! VERY INTERESTING ITEMS!!LOVE THE GOODWILL SHOPPING SERIS THAT YOU ARE DOING!!
