I live in a small town in Alabama which has a small antique mall called Rustique Relics. I have started bringing my grandchildren (7 & 10) there to shop for presents for their Mom and Dad instead of going to a big box store. They enjoy looking (so do I) and finding something unique and special for each of their parents and it is becoming a tradition we look forward to each year for birthdays and Christmas. It’s never too soon to start their appreciation for vintage treasures instead of buying new. My daughter and her husband especially enjoy these thoughtful gifts.
What an awesome tradition! Your grandchildren will always remember these times. Plus, it's cool that they get something unique for their parents. Lovely!
Hi there. Those birds on the wallhanging next to the Lion one are Guinea fowl we have lots of them all over Southern Africa, and Zimbabwe, in fact, they are endemic to Africa in general. Bred for the table in Europe too.
I laughed so hard because of the picture hanging on the wall to the left side of the screen. Around to 20:00-21:00 mark. The triangle got me Lol. Also the coffee pot with the wood handle... Could you just refinish the top and handle to match the tea pot you have at home? Just a thought. You got some great stuff. I love the black bird. That movie scared me when I was a child. The Birds. Alfred Hitchcock did some amazing movies.
Okay now i have list of upcoming videos that im looking forward to watch 1. Sister's room reveal 2. Jewellary night 3. Top 22 vintage find Cant wait!! 😍
31:51 that’s not Mexican. That’s Portuguese traditional pottery made in my region ( Leiria) that we use to bake and roast in the oven. My mother even sells those pieces in her shop! That is perfect for getting Portuguese duck rice ! Yummy! Love you Laura!
In one of your previous episodes you had asked what we would like to see in your videos. This (for me) was the PERFECT combination of everything I like to watch. Best video so far!
I get a chuckle every time I see you hone in on those ice buckets! I own one. lol. I use mine to hold my cats' water bucket. They were tipping their water, so I placed a margarine bucket into the ice bucket, and use that as their water dish. (I've stored the lid.) It's hard for them to tip over the round ice bucket...LOL! Love, love your style and the things you look at while thrifting. I've seen too many others' videos that are about clothing or kitsch items. I'm an artist, from the 60's and your style fits me best. Thank you for all that you do.
Hey Laura, the color of your bluey-green candles and bottle vase is called "greasy green" after one of the colors of trade beads the French-Canadian fur trappers used to barter with the Native Americans back in the 18th and 19th centuries.
I love that you buy kid art. I love when I find it. I think they are the best artists. My kids art is a whole wall in my house and framed like a museum gallery wall and everyone comments on it. It is def the best wall in the house. :-). The leopard is amazing!
I am a travel nurse and I went to some of the goodwills you go to. I hoped I would run into you but didn't. I am from Austin TX but my heart stayed in your beautiful state. I was in Beaverton, Vancouver, WA, Portland, Eugene, Seattle, Cannon Beach, Astoria and Medford. I brought with me some things I thrifted and have set a goal to go back just to thrift. I love your channel. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones
When you picked up that black bird I knew exactly that it was a Maltese Falcon. ( yes, I'm old) lol. Awesome find!! Love it and have always wanted to find one.

I have those little jars, I put all sorts of little things that need to be saved and the jars are all held in a spice rack that I painted... works great
I'm wondering if that cobalt glass ball with the rope around it was an old Japanese fishing float at the second Goodwill you visited. It was right after the butterfly box. They stopped making those floats in the 1970s and have used plastic ever since. I would have picked it up in a heartbeat!
You have curated the items in a very beautiful display. I love the items you have chosen for your studio. Well done. This is the first time I have watched your video's.
Saw a couple of pieces of Nemadji Pottery vases at Found on Fremont (min 5:28 and 5:57) ! Just recently picked one up. So unique and beautiful!! Pretty good for resale if you can get them for a good price. Mine was $1 at a roadside sale. Woohoo!!

I love mid century and hopefully in the next three years will finish our basement. I just love you style. I haven’t found much mid century in the south, i live in Southern Indians. Beautiful studio! Unique & beautiful items! Loved the blue & green snowflake plates...I wouldn't do a thing with the hanging metal rack. Thank you for so much great content!
Are you selling items in your design studio, or is it just for storage? So much better than boxed up. I have lots of finds in boxes that I really can't enjoy. Some day I will shelve them. Great idea. Why not enjoy them where you can see them! Same for my silk flowers. Some day I hope to store them in florist's containers. Will probably cover them with cheese cloth to keep them fresh, but way better than wrapped up in boxes. SOME DAY! One of the things I love about your channel is the research you do on pieces. I love learning about items you thrift, their history and besides that I learn something.
Laura, I have to admit that you inspire me every day from your videos. Whenever I go thrifting I always get things for my future home! Thank you for being un my life x
That bird is a replica of the Maltese Falcon. That full-size replica, in plaster, became available for sale circa 1980, though it looks like they're still making them out of other materials. We used to own it. It was the only thing that fell off a shelf in our house during the Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco (1989). It sustained nearly the identical chip that the one you show here has.
The studio part that you showed today looks fantastic! I'll be interested in seeing how you set up your area for photographing smalls and what equipment you recommend.
When you held up that coat it brought me right back to 70's! I had a brown suede coat with lamb wool collar, cuffs and trim. My husband selected it for me as a gift! I loved it, however I no longer have it. Love your videos!♥️
I am so happy to have found you and your Channel! You are so inspiring ! I love going to thrift stores. There are so many treasures out there that we don’t need more new things … but how do you know what is vintage ? What to buy for resale ?
I had to laugh at the closeup of the stainless Westbend penguin ice bucket. My parents owned one growing up. My husbands parents owned one growing up. I found one thrifting and my sister has one as well. I think they are very common but I love it.

Hello from Brazil. Just a quick message to let you know how amazing your pieces are. You have got an expectacular good taste! I also am a fan of blue and green pieces! I will continue addicted to your videos!
OMG so wild about the apothecary style coffee table you saw and that you would put lion head door knockers for new hardware. I’m currently painting two antique nightstands that have that look and have 9 lion head door knocker pieces of hardware per table! I fell in love with the hardware so bought the first table then found a match in another town. Love the art of the hunt! Thanks for your wonderful videos!
I am so excited I found your videos! Loaded with so much information. I am curious…Is your studio a place you are selling out of or only a place store your items and you sell in line??
Thank you so much for all your wonderful tips. I'm thinking about getting back into selling some vintage type items. I've just been a small time seller, but I just love thrifting and doing...I mean I would love to be you and do what you're doing. I thank you for your wonderful tips cuz you are inspiring me to kind of formulate some ideas about what type of things I would like to sell you have such a wonderful sense of the aesthetic as well as what seems to be a uncanny knack for putting together an eclectic visual that works so well together. Thanks for your tips. I'm a disabled breast cancer survivor and would love to earn a little extra money. I can't wait to see more of your videos.
I live in Gresham and was very glad you featured several of our sweet antique stores on your show today, but Gresham Goodwill is NOT usually fun for collectibles. Was not surprised you found nothing there!
I love that old movie “the Maltese Falcon,” and I knew that was what you found there. I think that movie was really what established Bogart as a leading man rather than the gangster he had played so often. What did you think of it? I hope you went back and got that bird vase. That was beautiful. I also loved that retro tv in that first vintage store you visited.

Your home looks lovely and cozy. Have a wonderful Christmas!
I signed up as a new subscriber just bc of nytch!! You’re amazing
I am so happy to have found you and your Channel! You are so inspiring ! I love going to thrift stores. There are so many treasures out there that we don’t need more new things … but how do you know what is vintage ? What to buy for resale ?
You are such a talented designer!! Your ideas are amazing! I'm about as talented as a rock
I have that gold flatware. I bought mine in Germany in the late 80s.
I had to laugh at the closeup of the stainless Westbend penguin ice bucket. My parents owned one growing up. My husbands parents owned one growing up. I found one thrifting and my sister has one as well. I think they are very common but I love it.
A happy and peaceful Christmas from the UK and from an old Scottish lady a good New year happy Hogmanay xx

Sending you lots of love from Belgium.
Your videos are just so so good. Enjoyed every minute. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
#goals LOVE your studio!!!
I think I need a penguin ice bucket! Do you know where I can get one? Lol!
I am so excited I found your videos! Loaded with so much information. I am curious…Is your studio a place you are selling out of or only a place store your items and you sell in line??
Hello Laura, I have that same lamp at 36.18 minutes in your video!! Nice 😮shopping haul.
Merry Christmas
Your home is always so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
The music accompanying your continual spotting of the penguin ice bucket cracks me up to no end. 🤣🤣🤣
The second I heard that song I was like “THAT’S IT!!” 😂 It’s the sound that perfectly fits the way I feel when I see one 🤣 🐧
@@leftcoastrevivals - HaHa!!! One of your "other" talents.🤣🤣🤣
So many fun things to look at.... great video... Yes..Please!
Congratulations on your new studio. Love seeing all your goodies.
You are so lucky to have Goodwills chocker block full of goodies!!
Love your show! What camera do you use when you walk thru a store or flea market?
