That's pretty wild. I'm glad they have taken off so well and seem dedicated to maintaining a quality product. Honestly I think it's worth the wait to get one.
I've love to have that slide, but that slick front would make it hard to rack from there. Was there any issue with your thumb rubbing against safety while using the finger grooves?
@@politicalpolarbear actually it's not bad to rack the slide from the front, the lightening cuts give decent grip even in the absence of serrations. As far as the thumb and safety go I've noticed that with any firearm using an external/frame mounted safety I prefer to rest my thumb on top of the safety as part of my grip. Not so much as to attempt to "drive" the gun with it but just to keep from riding under the safety and bumping it on during recoil. Hope that helps!
Wow! I think they are a victim of their own success! After trying this one I would definitely say the price and the wait are worth it. I was really impressed with everything about the Platypus.
@@skeenshandguntraining9429 I don’t have my platypus yet. I ordered it 10 weeks ago, but I have shot a couple. I do have a shadow 2 done by CGW that was converted a single action that is absolutely phenomenal. I also have a prodigy that was completely done by Tommy Guns USA that is pretty awesome. I can’t wait for the platypus to come in and do my own comparison. But my mind is gonna be hard to top that shadow 2 lol. Thanks for the video
@@sugarbear573 I wish I was better able to show off the Platypus in the video. I was definitely a victim of my own excitement! My wait was 15 weeks from time of order. Its a FANTASTIC gun for the price point! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!
Every time I've been able to shoot this example it continues to impress. Think it would make a great Limited/Limited Optic gun for USPSA or Steel Challenge. Currently has the standard barrel installed, so no comp as it is now.
@@brannonbenjamin203 this one has the standard prickle grip. I have to say that it was a very pleasant grip, didn't need to bear down to hang on but also didn't hurt the hand after a long day on the range. Definitely liked the texture.
Great video! I cant wait to get mine..... I am on week 6 of a 20 week lead time (Ordered late April)..... Even opted to get my own S/N and a Bull Barrel. Thanks for sharing. Just sub'd
Handled one at the range last week and it made me regret most of my recent purchases. I worry that their popularity will cause build quality and QC to go down as they try to get orders out the door???
@@ronaldwoodman224 I see the time frame to get one continues to grow as the popularity goes up. That makes me feel confident that they are maintaining their level of quality even as orders pour in. At least I hope so.
Spoke with Steath Arms at the NRA convention. I was told it’s now a 28 week wait….

Bought mine in February. It showed up at my ffl last week. Worth the wait imo
@@austinmurphy6359 have you had a chance to hit the range with it yet? Seems like a bargain to me, even though the wait has to be rough.
Got a week left before I get mine currently at 15weeks I bought it when it was 14-16 weeks can’t wait
Stop back by and let us know what you think of it. I really enjoyed shooting this one!
Nice shooting Zac!!!
He did a heck of a job. Hoping to see him bring this out to some competitions with us soon!

I actually right now it’s about 4-5 1/2 months if you order today. But it’s worth the wait and price

Does this have the extra aggressive prickle grip or just the standard prickle grip? Thanks

Welcome aboard! Hopefully you'll let us all know what you think when you get it. I think it's a great pistol and a phenomenal value.
@@skeenshandguntraining9429 Thank you. I sure will!
Waiting on week 10/? on mine :)
Hopefully it'll be just a few more weeks! Be sure to let us know what you think once you get it to the range.
Super nice 👉🌬
Oh no… not the trigger gauge demonstration….
