    While I appreciate, as always, your videos, for this pattern what we needed is a video of how to piece/sew the sweater together. I am a crocheter so the stitches are no problem--but I am not a sewer, so I need instruction in how to fold and join the finished piece(s). Please consider making a video to show us that.

      I agree, this was a great tutorial on a shell stitch. How in the world am I supposed to make that sweater? What are the measurements of the rectangle I'm supposed to start with? How to do I put the sleeves together? This was in no way directions on a sweater. I am very disappointed. First time I'm finding this channel too. Not a great first impression.

      @@debracisneroshhp2827 I'm well aware. My point is that the title of the video does not accurately describe the content of the video. • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  Год назад +1

      Hi there, thank you for your question. I'm happy to help.
      As far as I can tell the Wonder Cardigan is based on a multiple of 3 + 1, meaning for a 54 inch width you would chain 243+1 -> 244 plus 2 extra (so 246) for the first hdc of the next row or just do 244 fhdc. I hope this makes sense.
      Please let me know if that works out or if you have more questions! Have nice weekend. ❤️

    • @CatherineELewis
      @CatherineELewis 5 лет назад +3

      What I did as a beginner is to go to Michaels and play in the yarn. Budget friendly (look for coupons online) AND you can touch the yarn to see what you might like. I would warn against Red Heart. Nothing wrong with RH, BUT-it doesn't knit/crochet up as soft as you would want for a pattern like this (even though it wouldn't be directly on your skin) and the drape will be different. Vanna White has some nice colors. Lion's Brand Homespun is really nice and has a varigated look to it that swatches up really beautifully. I hope that helps!

    I looked at the linked page where one can access the downloadable pattern. I see that this shrug/sweater calls for a 5mm/H hook and your company's fingering-weight sock yarn. Is the shrug made with a single strand of the sock yarn and the 5mm hook, or with multiple strands of sock yarn held together? It doesn't look lacy in the pictures, but it sounds like it would be lacy if made with a single strand of sock yarn and that large a hook. I do like the "one size fits all" part, though!

      Sure thing! Since it is a rectangle that is then folded in half and seamed up, I would check by making a schematic of the pattern using cloth and measuring it on their body. @@AuntieSasha1 If you are not working the FHDC row, you can do any multiple of 3. If you are starting with FHDC then you need any multiple of 3 plus one. Hope this helps!

    How do you keep the finished project from stretching?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  10 месяцев назад

      Do you mean during washing/drying? Or in general? It depends on what fiber you use for your knits. If it's super-wash wool it tends to stretch unfortunately especially while blocking. Always make sure to lay it flat, never hang your knits. This will cause stretching as well.
