I completed an oil change on my 2023 2.3l this morning, and I have a comment - I didn't fully remove the panel (at 5:16 in your video). Instead, I left the three rearmost screws in place and hinged the panel down out of the way. Saved a couple of minutes. Thank you for this video, and thank you for the suggestion that I get a set of panel fastener pliers. It made the job a lot easier. I wish I had taken your suggestion about using the oil filter box to catch the oil - I made a real mess!
Thankyou for this , very detailed, and helped me do the oil change on my Father In Laws 2020 Explorer today! I did notice i needed a larger Oil Pan for collection as it was almost to the top after draining everything! thanks
Did you warm up the engine prior to the oil change? I have the Timberline edition, it's my fifth Explorer. I always get that engine nice and warm before busting everything loose. Great vid sir!
Does anyone here ever use a FilterMag? I've been using one on my F150 and am thinking about buying a new Explorer with the 2.3. I haven't been able to find a Mag that will fit the FL-910S filter. The Mag that I am using on the filter on my truck is too large for the Explorer filter. (Edit) A rep from FilterMag told me the SS300 should fit the FL300s.
I heard from a great mechanic that all ecoboost engines need to be serviced every 3k or 3 to 4 months! What do I recommend on a 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid?
Hello. I’m currently stationed in Germany and you mentioned you can update the service on carfax. I can’t seem to find that video. Any help on how to? Thank you Great video by the way!! 🇺🇸🫡

To make life easier, loosen the oil filter, then use a red solo cup and loosen till filter comes off.
That sounds like a good idea, or maybe a Styrofoam coffee cup. Worth a try...
Thanks for the idea 💡😀

I would stick to 3k intervals, buying oil is more affordable than engine problems in the future.
@@aandamustangs thanks
Did you have to replace a gasket on the drain plug
I did not, probably not until a few more oil changes
i would replace the gasket, at toyota we put a new gasket on the drain plug
Use a plastic baggy
