Most of you have probably read the latest Starcraft update, with Blizzard announcing that they will no longer do further development of the game in terms of new/paid content. As much as this sucks, this does not mean the end of the game. I could talk about this more and even make a video about it (though I have never been in any video), but I think the Starcraft 2 scene is still very strong:
- The competitive scene is doing great, with viewer counts still being high and a guaranteed 2 more years of GSL & ESL yet to come. This means many more amazing tournaments.
- The number of 1v1 games on Ladder is at its peak for Legacy of the Void (check rankedftw.com), with over 250k 1v1 games being played daily.
- The game is currently in the hand of the community with so many community members and organizations still creating awesome content. ESL, GSL, Harstem, Lowko, even recently the new AlphaX King of Battles tournament has been outstanding.
So keep supporting & enjoying the game. Despite Blizzard taking a step back, many more great years of Starcraft 2 are yet to come!
Hopefully Mike Morhaime's new company Dreamhaven backs a new RTS game, would definitely like to see the RTS scene continue to get serious development

I vsed a terran mech not to long ago and they had a pretty inventive solution to my SH, went for 4 ghosts and a medivac, after I released the locust volley he sped the medivac in, dropped the ghosts and just sniped the living fuck out of my Swarm hosts, actually worked pretty well. Not sure if it's a viable thing to slip into a normal mech opener but as it came off the back of a failed ghost/Hellbat timing.
Did you have nydus? I don't think ghosts can do much if he reacted only after you have already released the locusts, your SH would already be back into the nydus.
@@skychaos87 touche, that would have helped, never been much of a nydus player, prefer muta ling bane comps but obviously not viable vs mech so I sorta just wing it against them.

@@moistnugget4147 I had a pretty big grin when I saw the ghosts drop, didn't care that I lost, it was almost as satisfying as seeing dark archons and scouts get used in ASL the other day.

@@codywotring8973 It was FearDragon and Zombiegirl. Feardragon is one of my least fav casters because his voice sucks. Also he had a funny voice break during the second match. Zombiegirl is ok, but nothing to write home about. They are both too serious and unfunny. As a caster it's ok to slip in some jokes and silly humor sometime. These young casters dont get it...
That first game just has me thinking "Don't make Serral angry."
At 5:36 it wasn't a "GG" from Trap. He wrote "\W" instead.
Serral has to be careful not to play mass swarm host too often or people might notice how ridiculously overpowered it is.
I think Rogue already did that a long time ago.
If Serral keeps it up they won't be any Zerg left to nerf

Swarm hosts seem to be really difficult to play effectively at the pro level. They are super weak at defense and consume a lot of supply, making it very easy to die to a counter-attack. When they do enough damage to snowball, it's a fantastic spectacle, but they must do some enough damage to tie down the opponent because they contribute surprisingly little to main-army engagements. Personally, I wish they would buff the swarm hosts just slightly; it's one of my favorite play styles to watch.
@@ddopson I don't think it needs a buff tbh but I also don't think it needs a nerf for all the reasons you pointed out. People watching these games only see when swarm hosts snowball so it looks op as fuck but for everyone game they snowball there is a game where they fail epicly.
Would be cool if the result of the game wasn't spoiled in the first millisecond of the preview on the thumbnail...

I dare to wager most of the viewers come here specifically BECAUSE they enjoy the best plays and don't want to watch all the preparations and yet another Reaper vs 4 Zergings Ring Around the Rosie. Video title is mis-leading. Serral's game technically had swarm hosts, but other than denying extended thermal lance, they didn't do much direct damage. Indirectly, this ~100 second reset of the Colossus tech forced an early Protoss move-out, then while the swarm hosts were off-screen, the game decided by a skillful roach / ravager engagement with a superior concave against a poorly arranged and strung out Protoss force -- at 4:44, an archon and sentry get picked off prior to any other units engaging, then unbuffered immortals and collosus take early damage and are killed first, leaving only the stalkers which didn't even shoot during the first half of the engagement. Look closely and you'll see that it was a maximally inefficient engagement for the Protoss. The second game has more swarm host action, but is Bly vs KingCobra. Nothing about this video has Serral using mass swarm hosts.

They already nerfed a lot of zerg units including infestors and banelings..zerg actually needs a buff. Seriously "players" these days keeps asking for zerg nerfs just because they suck at dealing with them. Look at the terrans they have multiple options how on to deal with being outnumbered(siege, widow mines and even thor). Protoss are cool but they too need a buff IMO. The Zerg? LMAO sorry the only thing that keeps them alive in late game in general is by outnumbering their foes with BASIC UNITS.

I gotta admit the baneling nerf was pretty hardcore, it's a bit tricky with ultras because I feel like they've never really felt "balanced" they either really suck like in wol, or they're stupidly broken like early lotv when they hard 8 armour and rauders had split damage.
IMO the ultralisk, brood lord and carrier needs a buff
The buff for the carrier should be that the interceptors linger around a bit longer after the carrier is killed. With this buff the viper would not need to be nerfed. This is the only problem I see protons players complain about,an extra two range on feedback seems absolutely busted.
My question is how do you deal with swarm hosts? Do the same things as carriers and make the locusts cost minerals? In all of the games I see, you can't chase down swarm hosts, you can't try to run past them, and you can't turtle against them. I feel that the only race I see that can deal with them is the terran, because of the ghost *pew* and the sensor towers for finding them early.

@@kriegscommissarmccraw4205 Not just sensor tower and ghost, Terran can just lift the CC and pull workers away to minimize the locust damage. Protoss however have to choose between saving the probes or nexus and trade their actual units that cost resources with free unit locusts. IMO i think they should make locusts do 50% less damage against buildings, so it'd be like nukes where opponent can just pull their workers away but lose some mining time.
I like the carrier idea, they should make carriers on death release all remaining interceptors to attack surrounding area for 5 seconds before dying off. Kinda like broodlings spawning from a killed zerg building.
As far as zvt goes I kinda prefer it this way. Use to be infestor brood Lord and then later on ultras, now it kind of stays in the mid game muta ling bane comps, but with a bit of extra tech sprinkled in, ultras may not be as good as they use to be but 4 or 5 peppered in with ling bane still helps. And Terran's side they have to pepper in thors and ghosts and what not. It's much funner to watch and to play both as zerg and Terran vs the deathball late game comps both races have had in the past (mass raven, rapid fire ghosts etc where Terran was concerned)
However zvp late game, balance aside is painfully boring to play and to watch, don't really play toss so can't speak for them but as zerg it is really not fun being forced to turtle into spore forests and basically turn It into a game of who can mine out the map first if you're not able to close the game out. From a pure enjoyment factor I hope zvp get's a revamp or the meta shifts. Hydra bane vs toss army is fun, shame it's not viable late game.
Damn, after Blizzard pulled the plug on StarCraft II they didn't balance out the Swarm Host properly today.
Suggestions:
1. Introduce a new structure that unlocks the Swarm Host and researches Swarm Host upgrades, called the Swarm Host Hollow, from Infestation Pit.
2. Reduce Locust lifetime by half, reintroduce Enduring Locusts upgrade from HOTS that undoes the nerf, requires Hive.
3. Make Flying Locusts upgrade researchable at Swarm Host Hollow, requires Hive.

@@veilnebula2411 Not quite. Swarm hosts are effective as a strategy but not overpowered. They require a fair amount of resources and most importantly are incredibly supply inefficient.
Swarm hosts are very powerful when an enemy is stuck on low supply. However when an opposing army becomes large enough swarm hosts become an utterly redundant unit.
Getting value out of them enough so that a counterattack again their massive cooldown is impractical is very difficult.
There is a reason swarm hosts are not common at professional play. They're a very niche switch that can be rewarding but just be executed properly. They are by no means overpowered.

I never understood why they show players's faces. Their complete lack of emotions it's always there, bothering. Neither in victory or defeat, or even during the game, they show any kind of reaction. It's quite despicable how little humanity competitive players (from any eSport) have...

Lowkey Swarmhosts are not only balanced they are kinda bad.
By that logic, infested terrans aren't free units either because it takes time to regenerate energy. Of course its free units, because locusts and infested terran have their own hp, attack and movement. You can argue that turrets are free attack buildings and broodlings are free units. There is nothing wrong with having free units, but when its unbalanced like any regular units, it becomes a problem. Infested terran was nerfed and removed because it provided so much value in head on engagement with infested terran dealing massive damage especially against air and it has its own hp to tank hits. A full energy infestor using infested terran can do more dps and tank more hits than any other zerg unit of the same supply within a given time. Not to mention infestors has many other spells and can burrow move into opponent bases to harass fungal or infested terran. SH and locusts however is a lousier(but still very good) version of infestor and infested terran. SH sucks in head on battle, especially if baited, they become wasted supply for a period of time. However in harass, when paired with nydus, its extremely good and can kill bases or a whole mineral line instantly. And the thing with free units is that even if opponent defended perfectly and take no damage, its only a draw. However, if opponent lose even a single unit to locusts or take damage, they are bleeding units over time. Basically if opponent cannot stop the nydus and prevent the spawning of locusts, you're basically considered to do damage at that moment. IMO SH is not balanced, it can be extremely bad in certain scenario if nydus is stopped or SH caught in middle of the map or it can be game ending good in other scenarios like an a wave destroy a base or mineral line or slowing grinding opponents to death like what happened in this video. At the highest level, top zerg players are able to use them the right way and often times straight up win with it.

The problem with that line of thought is too many people would never stumble upon the truth themselves. That said, Jesus wants us to go out into all the world to inform them, and you, of the good news. The good news is that even though sin separated us from God (and sin brings death), Jesus died for us in our places thereby fixing our relationship with God and then rose back to life from the grave by the power of God.
Believe that and you WILL be saved. It really is that easy.
In this life people only ever make 2 choices:
(1) Jesus - Eternal life
(2) Themselves - Lake of Fire
It's an easy choice when you know those two options are the only ones that exist.

Proof Jesus is God from sources outside of the Bible
While I'd need a time machine to physically prove His miracles the written record is what we have, just like any historical matter. You should look into a subject called "historicity." It's the historical verification of authenticity of literature of every type. Anyhow, here are three proofs of God's existence (who cannot lie). The same logic falls to Lord Jesus with everything God says about Him.
(1) There's the case of the blood of Jesus itself. After Jesus was brutally murdered on the cross for YOU (though you have to accept what He did for you) and me, it seeped down into a cave beneath the hill that He was on. Jesus's blood was found, at first it was just suspicion, and it was taken to a testing lab to see what it really was. The men performing the blood tests were Jews (not the biggest fans of Jesus). They concluded that this blood only had 23 chromosomes (autosomes) while the rest of us have 46 chromosomes. This proves the Bible true (yet again) that Jesus was born of the Spirit of God and carried in the womb of a virgin. Additionally, there's the fact that white blood cells can only life for about 2 weeks which proves Jesus is God and that through Him we have eternal life, because His blood is still living!
(2) Then there's the fact that there have been numerous crazy people throughout history all claiming to be God and they all died. The difference with Jesus is that He died after having claimed to be God several times, BUT Jesus ALSO rose back to life from the dead! No one else has ever risen back to life that has ever claimed to be God. That alone is worth putting your faith in Lord Jesus for.
Are you familiar with psychology? It states that delusions are deeply personal matters and cannot be shared by multiple people.
Did you know hundreds of people saw Jesus alive (resurrected and in perfect health) after He was murdered for us so that we could have life through Him? Did you know that at least a dozen people saw Him ascend up into heaven where He said He goes to prepare a place for us and that He will return for us so that we can be with Him for eternity in joy and life?
That's called eyewitness testimony and it holds up in courts around the world.
(3) Have you ever heard of somatids? Somatids are microscopic energy particles. They are found in all things including humans, animals, fruit, veg, and the sap of plants and also in lifeless organic matter like rocks and ashes. They are apparently indestructible.
This is important due to the fact that the First Law of Thermodynamics (Conservation) states that energy is always conserved, it cannot be created or destroyed. In essence, energy can be converted from one form into another.
The point of brining up the first law of thermodynamics is that God (who walked with men on two separate occasions) taught us that He is literally all of existence. Absolutely everything that exists does so due to Him and through Him (somatids prove this).

Literally all of existence proves God's existence. Just look at energy and the first law of thermodynamics. Energy can be neither created nor destroyed. God tells us everything that exists comes directly from Him through His will. Problem solved of why we have energy.
