Oh gosh. Jane Fonda is very interesting & has led a very interesting life. I've not heard her claim anything specific, but she does have SOME regrets. I'm GUESSING maybe she wishes she'd have done/said some things differently in terms of protesting the Vietnam War way back in the 60's/70's.
I think she has written a cpl/few books. I bet they're super good reads.

Jane Fonda has fought the system since her late 20's. Nixion used her as an escape goat during the Vietnam War. The North Vietnam used her naive against her. She was branded as traitor for supposedly passing notes POW 's wrote to their families to the North Vietnam. Who then tortured the POW's. This has all beened debunked by the POW's themselves & Fonda. The difference between him & Fonda's life experience is like night & day. She lived it.....he just talks abt it. And as you can see... he loves to hear himself talk.

Jane Fonda is an icon. What Bill said about her being representative of many decades is true. She's most known in popular culture for her anti-war activities (Hanoi Jane) and being used by Nixon to rail against "Hippies" and for popularizing aerobics in the 80s, but those are just her larger cultural influences. She's also a phenomenal actress. She was in the Oscar-winning movie On Golden Pond with her father Henry Fonda before his death.

Wow🎉🎉🎉 I have listened to Manny interactions between many people, and never listened again to them. Later this week I will definitely listen to this again because I believe for me of all the interviews that I've watched or listened to,
This is the most honest and engaging conversations I have heard. It is such an intimate conversation it's changed with no fear which rarely, rarely ever happens. To be able to say to somebody I don't know what the heck you are even talking about, on both sides said it was so honest so remarkable.
Kudos, kudos to you Mr. Maher. And what a life well lived for Miss Fonda. I'm in my early '70s and I remember all the hate she got when she stood up against the war, so many people just thought she was doing that for attention and drama along with her celebrity. But instead we have a woman who walks her walk and talks her talk for years and years and years. Please have her back and continue your conversation. I loved hearing the opinions of two people I really have always liked and even and disagreement there was such a picture of Fondness,( no pun).
I felt like I was eaves dropping And instead of being nervous or ashamed about it I was intensely listening and thrilled. PLEASE PLEASE DO IT AGAIN, It just seemed ego without the window and there was no interrupting one another, I loved it

I live in Denver. Jane is correct about the two Colorado senators. They try to look liberal, but they bow to big business. They are so entrenched we'll probably never get them replaced. They look good on their web pages, but it's smoke and mirrors.
Another point: I just retired. Public school teachers are trying to survive the charter school take over, while dealing with children who have all kinds of issues. We don't have the time or will to mess with their minds, which the right wing says we do.
I wanted them to think critically and most were open minded about LGBTQ issues. I talked with one trans kid in my 36 years. (There aren't that many.) He was pretty chill, like this is who I am. The kids handle this stuff better than many adults.

Big news everybody. THAT IS WHAT PROGRESSIVES DO. SELL OUT. They pull on your heartstrings with emotional bullshit that the government should never even be involved in. They make tons of promises, and DO NOTHING BUT SELL OUT AND CASH IN. Doesn't matter as long as they say donald trump every other word. You don't notice.
Look at the progressive heroes. Bernie, AOC, the squad, nancy. They're all rich people working for the establishment.
Quit voting for people that promise you things. Vote for people that promise to keep the government far enough out of your life that you can do for yourself.
I have never been able to figure out why it's the progressive fantasy to be a dependent of the government. Have you never experienced the satisfaction of doing something for yourself?
In what part of the education you undertook to educate children did they instruct you to talk about acceptance of sexuality differences?
I'll wait, but the answer is NOWHERE. Not in any part of any course outline were you required to create a plan to sexualize children by "opening their mind to LGBTQ issues".
The problem is, enough of you teachers said. During this whole trans upheaval. That if we don't grant you access to our kids for these topics, it's anti lgbt...
We've seen the actual teachers union push for rules to keep secret relationships between teachers and students about their sexuality.
SOMETHING NO TEACHER NEEDS TO BE TALKING TO ANY STUDENT ABOUT.
The one thing that nobody wanted to talk about. Is that maybe the LGB doesn't want to be associated with the T that like to TOUCH kids...
There's a reason why it's called the LGBTOUCHYOURKIDS movement in a lot places now.
They associated all gay people with this butchering and sexualizing of children.
You should be ashamed of yourself for even thinking of spreading a mindset to children that would open them up to such abuses by pharma and expensive cosmetic surgeries that will keep them on drugs and treatments for the rest of their lives.
You can tell me, it's better to do it this way. You can say that, but it's a lie. I've been alive long enough to know better, I have watched the lie start out really innocent, "it's just some gay marriage. We're not gonna bother your kids. We're just like you."
Now it's "We're coming for your children" sung by a group of gay men, 41 of which were convicted sex offenders. SHAME ON YOU!
How do you think we got to where we are?
You just want to socially engineer something.
Go have your own kids and engineer them.
I can tell you've never had children of your own because you say VERY STUPID THINGS LIKE "The kids handle this stuff better than the adults". No, they aren't able to grasp the concepts involved beyond the emotional propaganda you present them with. Your outlook disgusts me. I'm glad no children will be influenced by you again.

She thinks electric cars are the solution to global warming. She mustn't have heard that the added weight of those vehicles creates huge wear and tear on roads and bridges, adds to particulate pollution because the tires wear out quickly, and if we all had electric cars enough electricity to run them could not be generated by non-polluting technologies. Typical of the short-sighted solutions offered by people who claim to follow the science but are only interested in following the parts that support their arguments.

History has shown that the real criminals were the presidents in power and top advisers and powerful special interests who kept us in Vietnam when they knew that we couldn’t win a war there. A lot of the men who went to serve in Vietnam were conscripted and originally thought that they were fighting for a just cause but got there and found something completely different. Three 3 million people were killed in the Vietnam war and hundreds of thousands of American men are living with the disaster that our leaders caused by not wanting to appear weak.

She went there not to support either side but to shine a light on the humanity and to show that the "enemy" were also humans. Do not believe any of that POW "notes" BS, it's absolutely untrue and two of the POWs who were there vouched for this, despite not liking her politics. Do you have any clue how much energy it takes to make 1 Wind Turbine? How much lubricating Oil is in one?
The Blades made of Fiberglass, or Carbon Fiber? How do you do that without Fossil fuels? Not to mention the short lifespan of these.
You can't make one Technology obsolete without a plan to replace it.
      Dean.

    • @starproxy_exe
      @starproxy_exe 2 месяца назад +1

Dean, the idea that renewable energy is somehow invalid because its production currently involves fossil fuels misses the bigger picture. Transitioning to renewable energy doesn’t mean an immediate, perfect system; it’s about reducing reliance on fossil fuels over time.
Yes, wind turbines require energy and materials to produce, but their operational lifespan offsets this by generating clean energy that far exceeds the emissions from their manufacturing. Studies show that wind turbines recoup the energy used in their construction within months to a few years and then continue producing clean power for decades.
As for lubricants and materials, advancements are constantly being made to reduce dependency on fossil fuel-derived products, including alternatives for resin and fiber production. Other countries have shown it’s possible to scale up renewable energy significantly without relying entirely on fossil fuels.
No one’s suggesting we can flip a switch and make fossil fuels obsolete overnight. But arguing against renewables because they aren’t 100% free of fossil fuel dependency during the transition ignores the progress we’ve already made and the clear path forward. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progress. If we continue at the rate we're going, how's that any better? Please.

Stating that they weren't cowards. It was during that time that I did notice his islamaphobia. but I didn't take it that seriously at the time, because again we were now in a war and many people had islamophobic rhetoric that I felt was misfirected dur to the attack. Americans are good about lumping a whole group of folks together based off of the actions of one or a few people. but now when I listen to Bill, i realize he's right, he didn't change. He's always been this smug, judgmentel, condescending pr*ck who lowkey hates women. But back then, we were not as divided as we are now as a nation. What would have been considered light banter back and forth is now replaced with pure vitriol and disgust for one another. Intolerance is what fuels
and grows the divide now. We've become so intolerant that there are clear lines being drawn in the sand. People are now being almost forced to choose a side. We are shameless at this point. A sense of shame is what this society also lacks. Not the kind of shame that makes you hate yourself or want to hurt yourself. But the type of shame that compels you to do the right thing. or the type of shame that tells you not to do that or say that, or even think that. there's always been hate in this nation, yet, the only reason it seems to be amplified now is because these thoughts and voices now have a platform. having these platforms fur spewing their hatred has not only mainstreamed these people, but emboldened them to be even more shameless in word and action.
