  • Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson are joined by a hero of theirs, Jane Fonda! Jane is a master of third acts, and the guys are curious about how she manages to keep going full speed in her life and activism (though she insists she’s just getting started). They also get into the time Ted and Jane got arrested, her experience in Vietnam, and how she became an exercise icon. Bonus: Jane’s skinny dipping stories.

ABOUT WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson are total opposites with an unbreakable bond since meeting on the hit sitcom “Cheers.” But after that show wrapped, life took them in different directions, and they missed each other. This podcast is a chance to reconnect, both with each other and the amazing friends they’ve each met over the decades, like Will Arnett, Dax Shepard, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen, José Andrés, Conan O'Brien, and more - that is, when Ted can get a hold of Woody! Join them as they dig beyond the career highlights and into the stuff of life that makes us who we are. Like the title says, this is a place to be known.
    ABOUT TEAM COCO

People are familiar with the phrase “hope floats” from the movie with that title, but don’t know its origin: Charles Dickens wrote “hope floats, but it ain’t got no direction.” (Captain Cuttle, “Dombey & Son”)
Action employed to achieve an aim perpetuates hope.. Jane is exemplary.

"You are the tragedy, we know why we are fighting", this statement sums up all conflict and sorta touches upon the idea that a war could be won before it is fought and also explains how "might" can be brought down with "right". I hadn't researched too much into Jane's life.....but anyone that puts in the effort and participates is the life of the party as far as I am concerned. At least she begins a dialog....and the intellectual details can be hammered out along the way. I hope you stay in great shape beyond the age of 100....LETS GO!!!

Ms. Jane Fonda is living proof beauty has no age limits. I mean beauty in its true form i.e physically, intelligent, passionate about the world around her and so grounded. She is a philosophical person. Her approach of being better everyday is something we should all do in order to make the world a better place because were only passing through and its important to leave a positive footprint. I like how Ted, Woody and Ms. Fonda understand their privilege and use their fame to uplift the rest of us. Great interview I listened on my way to work and had to revisit the interview later.❤

Since then I’ve done a deep dive into her film career, especially during her time near the end of Old Hollywood. If you’re interested in seeing great performances by her, I recommend…
The Chase with her, Marlon Brando & Robert Redford (1966).
Hurry Sundown with her, Michael Caine, Diahann Carroll & Faye Dunaway (1967) and sadly this film is very topical today.
And for a fun one, Barefoot in the Park with her and Robert Redford (1967).
And of course like they talked about, Cat Ballou (1965).☺️

She was on crutches that day, recovering from hip surgery. When she signed my book, I told her how much I admired her and she reached out and took my hand. That meant so much. A very thought provoking and deep conversion (with a Hollywood Legend!) about what makes someone fight a war their whole life on the inside, by fighting the wars on the outside.
It is easy to accept those who do not accept themselves, but it is hard for them to feel anything other than being unacceptable. And they fight for their right to be so.
Wars (including meditation) push feelings away, so that they come back stronger later. To embrace yourself is to give up fighting and accept.
There is no enemy greater, or battle fought harder, than a self vs a self. And there is no winner, as one consumes the other, unless you thank the pain and suffering each day until it becomes less.

you are not born with the resilience she talks about in the end. its the role you get in your family. its the role you are born into. another sibling is born into a different situation and gets a different role. every child in a family is born into a different situation.
    loved this interview!

Jane is a warrior, knows climate change will change our world catastrophically, and has started. Jimmy Carter warned and tried policies to go Green, because he knew fossil fuels CO2, NOx, pollution is ruining our atmosphere, Kudos, Thank you Ted, Woody, Jane, and Team Coco crew. Peace and Love Y'all

I'm old enough to remember when Jane Fonda was really disliked by a lot of Americans; I've always thought that she is a person of tremendous moral courage. Reactionary types would accuse her of things that were at best inaccurate and misleading; that has always been America's Achilles heel: the individual who has no time for detail but just enough for two minute soundbites that both rile them and leave their heads full of hot air.
It is even more incredible that at her advanced age, she puts her shoulder to the wheel. Let's face it, in America working to reduce carbon emissions is a thankless task. Half the country still feels that it's a conspiracy - god, how we love our conspiracies - to deprive them of their cars....usually, cars the size of armoured personnel carriers.
More power to you Ms Fonda.
