🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today's video we let you know we bought a new tractor! We have a 2023 Massey Ferguson 1825 E compact tractor with the FLX 2407 loader. We also put our tractor to work using the loader bucket to spread the 23 tons of 3/4" stone for our gravel driveway. We use the tractor to widen our driveway and make our driveway turnaround from one vehicle width into two vehicles wide. We also use the loader to back blade or scrape the driveway smooth as well as our King Kutter 5' rear scrape blade to smooth everything out. Let's go!

Be a big game changer for you all congratulations
Elijah sure had sprouted up. Getting almost as tall as dad😁
Impulsive NO WAY lol we are only getting older. Sam I have been trying to sell the same thing to Sara hahahaha She is like NO not yet. 😂🤣 Dump you out! LOL yeah you definitely need to make sure you are extra kind that day.
A need for sure with the homestead. You have made a good choice moving to this property as it is giving your boys the best life.
Great video, you all look so happy, God bless
Great job Angela driving the tractor
Nice driveway nice tractor you go Angela seeing you drive that I want one but I live in the city 😂😂
Love the new tractor. It was great seeing Angela drive and spread gravel. You guys are so stinking cute. Looking forward to more videos
The hayfield potential will be a nice little side hustle perhaps. Living on that property you definitely need that tractor. 💖💖🎶🎶
Happy International Women's Day Angela!
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time they come on. May the Lord bless and protect you and your family
Nice ride. Please also get ear protection and wear it for all who drive the 🚜.
No doubt about it. They need a pair that just sit around the steering wheel so they always have access to it.
Great job spreading gravel Sam
Happy for ya’ll!
Congratulations on the new tractor!
A little tip you may or may not know about using the bucket. On the right hand loader arm here's a silver rod that moves up and down out of a red sleeve as you tilt the bucket. When the bucket is flat, the rod should be even with the top of the sleeve. Knowing that can be very helpful when trying to scoop a bucketful of gravel or whatever you're scooping because you typically want to go into the pile with the bucket flat
massey 1825 thats a 25hp kubota diesel
Nice advice
@@n3v1ko i always use my bucket to bask blade what ever i spread around
Elijah should be old enough to learn & use the accessories. I was plowing & mowing with a large tractor when his age or before.
As long as y'all can afford the things you purchase, it's no problem. Sell the FORD
Nice addition to the farm
In the Spring when the grass comes up through that gravel, get a sprayer and mix water, cleaning vinegar and a touch of liquid dish soap and spray the grass. If it does come back spray it again. Chemical free!
It's all good as long as you keep ''old blue'' in the family....
Very happy for you guys!
Cool to see the recycled greenhouse in the background.
Welcome to the MF family buddy. These red tractors just keep working and never stop. I got my current MF 4 years ago after a lot of studying, comparing and taking in the benefit of a hydro so my wife, grown boys and grandkids would have a better experience using it. After 4 years, no maintenance headaches, flat tires from thorns don't count. Wait until you buy a 3 point tiller for the garden, it is so much easier. We use a rotary cutter and disc mower, rake and baler. If ya get back in those tree's, watch out for those lighs, I snapped off my left side light off the ropes bar about a month after we got it.
Your family is awesome great choice on the tractor 👍🙏
I’ve had two back surgeries, three knee surgeries, neuropathy in my feet, and have had two strokes an ischemic and an hemorrhagic I’m very lucky to still be alive extra weight I carried for years was a very big contributor to my strokes, knee issues, neuropathy and back surgeries. Extra weight is very hard on your heart and by the time you realize it you’ve damaged your heart. So please start losing weight now, no processed foods, chips, limit anything that your body turns into sugar. Eat healthy natural foods it’s hard to change but your body will adjust and your body pains will subside greatly and you’ll both feel better and be able to do more. God bless your family I’ve lived this and I’m not being critical but you have young children you want to see grow up.
You look good on that tractor and I like the color. The red and black goes well with your other tools. Seriously though, it's a good looking tractor and very capable. Nice buy!
About the tractor shed. Just keep in mind that even the tractor dealers leave them outside on the lot. It won't hurt them to sit outside for a bit, so try not feeling so rushed. Just do what you can, when you can.
The loader wins me over for sure :)
Congratulations on BIG RED, You all will love it
You need to paint your workshop red to go with your tractor now. Lol
Congratulations !!! So happy for y'all's sweet little family.
Great video Sam and Angela
Anything that makes job easier is worth the price. Enjoy the toys and life.
Everything is looking good 👍
This is probably one of the sharpest looking tractors in this size that’s out there. And MF has a long and strong background. It’ll last y’all a long time and it’ll work hard for ya.
Every nice homestead needs good tools.I’m all about doing easy and fast. This is a great investment for you all! It’s a nice machine!
THAT IS ONE GOOD-LOOKING TRACTOR
Sweet!! I also spied CHICKENS!! Ya'll are making it come together so quickly!
Congratulations on the new tractor! I'm sure you'll find PLENTY of uses for it. And now Angela can help, too!
Great tractor Sam. Great job Angela. Great job Elijah.
NICE new toy
Wow, your boys are getting so so big and they will be a great help to you and Angela around the farm ❤
You can’t go wrong with a Massey Ferguson and back in the day old blue would have been a luxury but like all of us he is getting old however old blue will or already is a valuable piece of machinery and you deserve all that you need to make your life easier especially on a homestead. Love the video🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
If you ever get forks on that you're going to wish that you got a tractor that has the mechanical parallel linkage on the loader.
That keeps the forks or the bucket at whatever angle you set it at as the boom goes up and down. An absolute must with forks so that you don't drop material or supplies on the ground, the tractor or yourself!
That feature I absolutely freaking love on all loaders!!! Unfortunately a lot of loaders don't have it.
For some reason a lot of people call that self-leveling but there is absolutely nothing self-leveling about it!
It maintains the angle that you set it to as it goes up and down.
Actually self-leveling is a feature on large construction site payloaders.
No matter where the boom is you can push a button and it will it will automatically level the bucket or forks.
That is the simplified explanation. Actually the bucket has to be at a negative angle then tap the control over all the way to the left. When it reaches 0 ° to the ground it stops.
They also have an automatic up feature for loading trucks. 😃.
But your boys are stepping up and helping you 💞may you use it in good health 💞
Well deserved! And money well spent. The wear and tear of our bodies, especially as we age, is no joke. I'm glad you're taking those precautions.
I know people as well as follow people with homesteads and hands down, the first thing they need or want to purchase when they get their homestead is a tractor. If you have ever done years and years worth of labor without a tractor, you know it's a NEED, not a want. Myself and my neighbor do similar projects and it takes him 30 mins. with the tractor and me literally 2-3 days of BACKBREAKING LABOR. In my opinion, you owe nobody an explanation but you are so genuine I'm not surprised you took the time to explain. P.S. my co worker just bought shoes for heel spurs and she said they are wonderful, she can walk again. The are made by Sketcher, thick soles with an arch and made to take pressure off the heal. Had a co worker many years ago that wore similar shoes. If I still have your email I will send you the info. God bless the family
Your an awesome family. Love your videos and those two boys are precious.
Great Teamwork!!
That's a nice tractor, it's going to help out around your homestead. Congratulations
Hi Sam and Angela! Good for you guys being able to purchase this needed piece of equipment! I don't think it was an impulse buy. There are certain things that are a must have, living the homestead/ farm life. Have fun playing around with it! Can't wait for more videos of what you all have planned in future projects! 😉❤
My grandpa had a Massey Ferguson dealership back in the 30s & 40s.
I’ve seen what laying down 3/4 minus gravel on dirt does. I don’t remember seeing in a past video you laying down underlayment followed by pit rock and then finally 3/4 minus.
More expensive in the short run, but worth in the long run.
Most likely you cautioned your son over the dangers of heavy equipment. A friend of ours accidentally ran over his 18 month old daughter in 2012 killing her. 😢
Congratulations on the new equipment.
You guys are so close to 100,000 congratulations and I'm sure you'll hit that soon
Congratulations. My husband loves his Massey
Awesome purchase y'all! God Bless Y'all 🙏🏻 !
You folks are so deserving of a few great things to help make your property productive.....
Love how you show your boys how to treat a wife. 😍 Angela, happy International Women’s Day.
You don’t need to explain to me why you needed to buy a tractor! If somebody has a problem with it they don’t have to watch your show. I’m sure you’re not gonna spend the money and buy it unless you need it especially now that Angela can drive it. Stop apologizing to people! Congratulation on your purchase. You know it’s really easy for people to sit here on their butts complaining about what you’re doing🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
My wife works for one of the highest volume Massey/Mahindra/Bobcat dealers in the country and has for over a decade. You chose well. One of the best products on the market. When I was younger stronger healthier and whole lot more broke I had to shovel 37 tons of crushed red rock into a wheel barrow and spread it down a driveway. I didnt have the money to hire it done. Didnt have the resources to get my hands on equipment to do it. And I had a young family of four kids and a new single wide coming in a week. I refer to this as hell week lol
It's usually a good idea to lay down weed block fabric or 6mil plastic etc. The grass and weeds will grow right up through the gravel without it. Just my experience.
Cool tracker. I like it good choice
Congratulations! Now it needs a name!
Awesome guy's very nice tractor! God Bless you guy's!
Hits close to home. I moved on to an acreage late in life. Bought a Ford 3000 to handle the chores. Had a loader and back blade. Found out real quick in the winter, open station and cold prairie winds aren't the answer for this old guy. After the sale of my city house, went out and bought a cabbed Massey 1742 with a loader and blower. One of the best attachments you can get for driveway maintenance is a land plane. I built my own out of scrap and it makes you a driveway master.
When I saw Angela on it I thought well Sam is not going to get to drive it to much. You go girl !!!
Woohoo!!! A new tractor!! Congratulations and Angela....I'm jealous! 😁
⚘Happy for you here!
A little tip. In my use of grader blade.
I find when grading driveway stone if you turn blade backward and drag stone it does a better job. This also works well in snow removal. Blade won't dig in so deep and drags stone down easier. Have fun with new tractor. God bless you and family
Congratulations, its money well spent. Let me give a little advise, when you build your tractor shed, make it twice as big as you think you need, as you will be purchasing other attachments. Example, I built a 12x36' addition on my garage for my JD 2025R and its full. When your washing it after use thats a good time to hit those grease fittings. Enjoy it, you find many uses for it you hadnt even planned on.
You will find tons of uses for that tractor and loader. It will save you time. It will pay for itself. Congratulations on a good purchase.
The NEW TRACTOR can BE a very Big Help around the "Ranch". They are Very Valuable TOOLS.
It didn't take you guys long to decide to give the "old -blue" a rest. These modern small tractors are real "Work-horses"- But Realy glad you guys got a Massey-Ferguson. ( have two) & another orange one-all different sizes.
With every New piece of Equipment; there is a "Learning Curve", and your "best-friend" is the OPERATORS MANUALS !!! This tractor ; the Massey-Ferguson 1825e is "top on my list" or the 1835e & also another "red-type" in the 25-35hp range (not mahindra). The hydrostatic transmission is WAY too LOUD fer me- a 8×8 or a 12×12 is the way fer me. Congratulations on the "New-Rig" and SO MANY hits &likes ; Astonishing in such a short time. Thank you Sir &Madam for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.
He is getting so big. Wow, y'all have a teenager soon.
Jack Sprat could eat no meat, his wife could eat no Lean between the two they ate the plater cleen , you two work well together,!💕💕💕👍
My husband has the same tractor. We bought it last year and it’s been our most used thing ever. It’s sooooooo handy!
Oh.....I knew this was coming :) Sounds like you did the research and got what you need for the best deal. It's gonna save you time, money and your backs, knees, feet, fingers.......etc. Now, all you need is a hay barn with space to park two tractors and implements out of the weather. Out in the countryside you'll never want for something to do.
Nearly 47 years ago i was 12. My neighbor had two tractors, a red Massey Ferguson without a cabin - or front hydraulics- and a Deutz with a cabin. The Massey Ferguson was the first vehicle in my life i drove at age 12. I had to jump on the clutch because when i tried to push it down, i could stand on it and it wouldnt budge. So i had to jump on it.
OMGosh, the feral child is turning into an young adult, how exciting!! (**scary too). They grow to fast.
How awesome you getting the tractor, so much you and Angela can get done. Not just Sam, not just Angela, but, both can do. So happy for you all.
I think if you have a homestead and going in for the long haul, you need a tractor. 15 acres is a lot of land to mow! I say this is a great investment for you do not have to worry about renting or borrowing. Great job Angela, you seem very comfortable on the tractor. Like Sam said it is nice to have equipment both of you can use. Elijah was just so excited and glad he is able to have that experience.
Congratulations Well deserved and buying it new, this will be the blue tractor in 50 years. I am always impressed by Sam and Angela. Truly happy for you.
👏👍👏 you two are going to get sooooo much good out of that tractor. I love driving tractor. My stats: 73 yrs old, woman.
Congrats!! I purchased my new JD 2038R about a year ago. If you have a sizable amount of property you almost have to have a tractor. Like you I did lots of research and settled on JD because of close dealerships and great success with other JD products. The downside they are more expensive. I look forward to seeing future videos and great job Angela you looked like a pro!
were getting rid of all our deere each year towars all case's and Kubota equipment because theyre cheaper
Wholly Cow I love going down rabbit hole’s…
A piece of landscape cloth under the stone would keep the weeds from coming up too bad so maybe on the next load of rock? Nice tractor!
You so much deserved that new toy…..it looks like it’s fun to drive too a very useful tool for ya
Massey has been around along time. Great tractors. So happy for y’all.
That’s one snappy looking tractor guys!
I'm glad you decided on a new tractor to help you with your work. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure.
Awesome for you all 🎉
Just a suggestion - instead of using your blade to smooth the gravel, use some chain link fabric (10 or 15 ft long) attached to 2x4 and about as wide as your tractor. The benefit being when your tractor goes over a hump or into a dip there is not a resulting hump or dip in your work. Result is very quick and professional looking. Enjoy your channel!
Oh wow! Congrats🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I’m sure you can get a lot more accomplished easier and faster with the new tractor.
My husband is a grading foreman and he says a 3 or 4 bar grading bar to tow behind the tractor will give you smoother results easier without leaving waves in the gravel.
Good move on buying the tractor. Bucket is a must, you'll use it more than you think. Congratulations!
I'm glad y'all had fun.
