So if I get HPtuners I can tune more than 1 car with it? With this its just for the car it is in? Just asking Cuz where I'm at with my swap I am 3weeks away from wiring and was gonna order HP tuners right away. I’d like to do a don’t bs me style build in the future but tuning seems pretty intimidating. This holly really makes it look easy! I’d love to learn hptuners though. Keep up the great work Mott!
Definitely looking like it will go on my project - really loving what they did here - major plus is that any tuning shop should know their way around holleys, so they shouldn't shy away from it.
Slick unit, price is real reasonable considering the features. I was expecting you to say, 'What would you pay for this? 3 grand? Nope not 3 grand, not 2500, not 2 grand.. 1300 bucks in three easy payments... ' Just giving you shit, thanks for the demo its pretty damn nice.

It kind of reminds me of the FItech ultimate LS setup which ive heard is trash but it looks like the holley setup has a lot more features and options for tuning boost, nitrous, and many other perimeters it seems.

i got the "spend a little more to get the more advanced features" message back in the late 00s. if i could have gotten something that did everything this does for a grand i would have been stoked. on the car i had then i ended up getting a Link G4 when they first came out, the big "looking back i wish it/i had x" feature would have been electronic throttle. it would have made the antilag/cyclic idle/idle in general (terrible old solenoid open/closed idle up for AC and idle air bypass setup were so fiddly to get right) so much simpler. i think the big thing holley brought to the masses with their entry into the EFI ECU market has been that any average joe can install one and have it running/self learning so easily, no other system i have seen seem to have that same ease of entry into standalone EFI setups.
I bought from holley at their xmas sale and payed the sale price for the terminator.. this model just became available and is still way cheaper then the sale price was. I am building all motor and only needed this product. damn Well either way

For the record I'm not knocking it . Mines already ordered , I think its great , finally something quite a bit more affordable .I'm just saying that they basically repackaged and removed a few features , renamed an already great product , but it does seem a bit cheaper than it should be...

Distributorless 1st gen v8, with injection of course, I want to put a 4.8 in my firebird, with a bit of boost, 650 tire , with a T-56, or a 6l90 -8L90 6-8 speed trans, I can get a 6L90 for about $1, 700, but controlling it is about that again, for the price I can get a T-56 with the works! But I have a newly built 385 stroker, with aluminum heads, and 11.25:1 , and nos hp cam, to go in it, I would like to keep it manual trans, or 6dpeed + if auto. The orkginal T-5 will be useless! It even has the same gearing! But I can get the same power with a boosted 4.8-5.3 with a cam and a few other goodies, injectors throttle body, a truck intake is fine with me, I have room for turbos behind the headlights, put the battery behind the rear tires, where the spare tire goes, I'm not racing, at the strip, anyway, a 3.45-3.73 gear is plenty for it? 27" tires,
Less IO, no boost control / two step junk - but for a street car it seems like an even better value to me. What is it, like, $1000 with trans control? Comes with 3 bar MAP and a wideband + the harness. Hard to talk shit on that.
@@tomslater5198 retail $ 1k with trans control. I'm running without. Under 800 for 70050. I'm sure the Holley is a better executed product, but Im just putting the option on the table for consumers to consider. I've got 3k miles on mine by now and Its been relatively flawless.
Matt references Flex (FCS) but the Term X manual does not mention Flex as a connection... So I am not sure if the harness includes a FCS connector or not..? I am interested to see how Matt gets it setup once complete, hopefully walks through the Flex setup soup to nuts. But if the Term X does not include Flex then the FITech is a better value IMO for a basic setup.

Hopefully they come out with a setup for the Ford guys, having a plug and play setup that could work with TFI or EDIS would be amazing, even more so if it had transmission control!
@@williamzoom i dont either but theres a reason why holley follows ls build. There in demand..and thats where the moneys at for them..if coyote swaps were there for 500 bucks at a junkyard you would see a cheap deal like this
Hey Matt can you shed some light on the Fan #1 and Fan #2 ground triggers? My question is whether it can be setup like an LS1 F-Body using 3 relays for high and low speed, in which case Fan #1 must be shut off before Fan #2 kicks in.
Only downside I see so far is I cant use this to pass emissions here in AZ. Tuning factory pcms on obd2 I can. Maybe Ill have to build something that was originally obd1 junk.
Will this allow for laptop based tuning with the, not yet included, software? Something about a 3" screen and no keyboard still bugs me. If I'm tuning something I really want to be able to screw some stuff up.
Wow! Yeah you could spend $600 on harness, $300 on AEM failsafe, $250 on MSD 2step and still not even have an ECU to start it. I love the parameter based logging feature, since I'm a data geek that logs everything, lol.
Totally agree, I live in CA where the emissions are crazy, would have to file for an exception, wait for 10 months, make sure the motor came out of the same class of vehicle (passenger vs. truck/delivery), had the same fuel type usage (no gas to diesel conv) and they might, and I mean might approve it within a year.
@@iamblaineful its stuff like this that makes me love Texas, if I put a 6bt into my truck they just say go ahead, and there's no testing on diesels or 25+ year old.

@@DadsDriveway th400 absorbs a lot of hp, its bigger and stronger but takes a lot of power to run it they came behind big blocks for a reason. I rebuild my th350 i wouldn't say it bullet proof but quite strong
I had another question as well seeing that you're a tuner does this eliminate the need for tune because it has Target air fuel ratios that it will try and hit? Obviously from what I can see you can't change spark maps and fine tune air fuel but it will do it all automatically based on your settings right?
Hey there, I am doing a build with a 95 mustang and will be running a 5.3. Will I need the harness to have control over my transmission? I was looking online here. in Canada and the Unit you are speaking about is around $1500. With trans part it is $2000. What year is the mustang? Brad
Will the transmission control for a 6 L 80 work with the Terminator? The ability to change gears by hitting a button will that be retained or do you lose the manual control?
Question, if you rock your own MAP sensor as you are here, does that soak up one of the 4 auxiliary inputs they give you? Or is that part of the regular harness
Matt I’ve been researching tuning, I purchased an x max and I’m going to learn to tune it myself. I’ve been trying to figure out the afr at wot at 0psi. I found a post on Ls1tech that you said you like to start at 24° and you like 14° at 14psi. So basically your taking .7° of timing per psi of boost. Would this still be a good starting point for a 6.0 9.5:1 compression 7875 e85 with a ss2 cam?
They have SBF and Coyote kits if anyone's still reading this. Got the SBF kit for my 408 stroker. Will eventually do an LS swap on another car, use the same SW and harness I'm learning now. Harness was super easy and high quality.
For the pressure transducers for fuel and oil pressures why don’t you just re pin them at the ECU then you don’t have to move anything or hack up the harness.
Where are you getting this $999 price? Looking at any of the terminator x units on amazon and it shows like $2000 😑 is it able to control stock Silverado dash’s?
900fj10 I know the dominator is set up for two O2’s right from Holley and this one says it only has one O2 sensor stock. But what I am wondering is can you configure one of the 4 spare inputs to read an additional O2 sensor.
Ordering my terminator x next week. Called holly yesterday but hung up because there was like 37 callers ahead of me. What flex sensor are you running with it?
Quick question will this work with both 24x and 58x cranks...my current engine is 24x but when it finally blows the new engine is 58x ... My current harness and ecm is stock gm and hp tuners.

@@thestig8768 it is kind of like the 4l60e vs 4l80e, the TH400 was always the go to trans for high performance. I bought this one off the shelf spur of the moment when I broke the housing on one in my gbody. Gbody twist and solid mounts all around are no good :)
Brad
Which Terminator x did you get? There's two different variants just curious on your take of it
How does this stack up to microsquirt?
You have changed Holley and the world👍🏻
On the gauge screen does it have a speedometer?
That is about as plug and play as any system could be . love that cord from 1960 ,did you take that from your grandmother's house?
Will the transmission control for a 6 L 80 work with the Terminator? The ability to change gears by hitting a button will that be retained or do you lose the manual control?
If you can't change it in the configuration you can just pull the pins from the fuel and oil pressure on the computer and switch them
Yes this is what I was going to do
I cant sleep now lol good little sneak peak !
Bakelite extension cord kool
I wonder if those they are calling FIC (Fuel Injector Connection) or (Fuel Injector Clinic)? hmm
Matt how would I record speed in a t56 car? Would I buy the version for an auto trans and modify for my vss?
Always a good day with a new sloppy video
so would this be used instead of hp tuners ?
Are they going to bring out a terminator version for other engines?
You should check out holleys site, they have had these for years, just this version is new and inexpensive.
They have SBF and Coyote kits if anyone's still reading this. Got the SBF kit for my 408 stroker. Will eventually do an LS swap on another car, use the same SW and harness I'm learning now. Harness was super easy and high quality.
Gonna have to get me one. 👀👀
Just repin the wire in the header connector. those are the easiest connectors to pin.
For the pressure transducers for fuel and oil pressures why don’t you just re pin them at the ECU then you don’t have to move anything or hack up the harness.
Starting to regret my Fitech
Where are you getting this $999 price? Looking at any of the terminator x units on amazon and it shows like $2000 😑 is it able to control stock Silverado dash’s?

This VS Gold Box what are you opinions?
My biggest question is is it configurable to set up a second O2 sensor and how if so?
no , only dominator will do it .
900fj10 I know the dominator is set up for two O2’s right from Holley and this one says it only has one O2 sensor stock.
But what I am wondering is can you configure one of the 4 spare inputs to read an additional O2 sensor.
Game changer for the average person
Ordering my terminator x next week. Called holly yesterday but hung up because there was like 37 callers ahead of me. What flex sensor are you running with it?
Do you have an opinion or experience with the fitech ultimate LS system?
Hope it works well. I just bought one. If this had been out I would have got the Terminator X
The problem I’ve had with it is finding someone to dyno tune with it. No one wants to touch it
This looks like a home run. I think it would be a grand slam if Holley released a sdk and took advantage of your follower's free labor pool.
Quick question will this work with both 24x and 58x cranks...my current engine is 24x but when it finally blows the new engine is 58x ... My current harness and ecm is stock gm and hp tuners.
He was able to pick 24 tooth in the beginning of the video when he first grabbed the screen.
Ok thanks I missed it the first time so I watched it again.
Meh, for people complaining...W.S. The harness alone is $750 on sale. $850 normally.
