Yari Samurai might have been worth getting if they had yari wall, which they fucking should historically.
Maeda Toshiie used a yari wall at Nagashino.

I think Shogun is the hardest TW game and definitely the hardest to cheese. It's so much more interesting because you have to make some tough choices rather than just cheese battles.

Its only hard because AI is retarded amd declering wars on you and sending armies after you even when they are getting demolished by other enemies. It's not difficulty, it's annoyance. Shogun 2 AI is horrendous. Generals charging into spearwalls, kiting ships etc.
@@MkZuO12345 try legendaries difficulty. You could hardly see general charging into spear unless its siege defend where the enemy general comes as reinforcement while you surrounded the entrance into the fort. They pretty much dead anyway once the clock is run down. As for ship kitting , it is reasonable since they are ships with different speeds. If you can outrun them. Good job. As for AI war declaration, i guess they just hate you more than others. Check your diplomacy more often. You will see more sense.

the reason why replenisment is so low is that they didn't upgrade the roads. It is the most important thing and everyone should build it first
That and the farms I like that the ai never upgraded anything mostly will leave it on the first tier yet even though they only have 1 or 2 provinces they'll have two or three deaths stacks
Takeda Shingen has a fear effect by default
In shogun 2 when skirmishing archers vs archers putting them in loose formation cuts down your losses dramatically while not affecting their damage output :)
20:17 i know this is an old video, but still, little advise, if you're doing a siege like this, you really should have enough ammo, especially with 4 generals there.
if you use your inspire ability on your archers, they have increased fire rate AND accuracy, the accuracy meaning you do more kills per arrow, so less ammo needed.
also, make sure to only shoot when the target is standing still, because it's harder to hit a moving target.
it does seem fine here, but that's just some tips for anyone who's ever not sure if they're gonna have enough ammo, you want to avoid losing men climbing the walls if possible, especially in a disastrous situation like this
Your shogun 2 disaster campaign videos are the absolute best content you put out by far and you seem to enjoy them as well. Wish more total war games offered this kind of challenge

It's possible to win the second battle - ashigaru have terrible morale, the AI is not particularly good, and if you attack them the moment the first few soldiers finish climbing a wall, they'll get crushed and their morale would drop immediately.
It'll still get shot by the archers, yeah they can defend against the spears, but they'll eventually lose due to air assault.
@@P4PapiPanDulce Not necessarily. The archers might be dumb enough to climb as well....Trust me, i do have an experience doing that.

I have never seen the legend seem rattled until this one. S2TW was in certain ways the most challenging game. I hope they come back and really try to do gunpowder right. (Better yet a pitiless game about the strategy and tactics of WWI and WWII eras. )

Meanwhile if you have cavalry in TWW2 (cough bretonian garrisons), which you can't even choose which troops gets stationed in, you can't do anything about it to make them anywhere near useful
i believe Bretoonian inner courtyards are a bit wider than normal to acompany for cav charges.
its the same thing and even if it was it would be too crammed for cavalry to do any good. Not to mention the ton of other factions that have mediocre cavalry as settlement garrison (HE with horse archers behind walls, genius move)
Shogun 2 is an excellent game. Right up there with Rome 1 for me. The only blemishes it has are auto-replenish and the building slots crap. The combat doesn't feel shit like in Rome 2 either. Super glad to see another SYDC for it. Cheers!
agree. but i Think the building system works better in this and empire than in rome2. it fits better. in rome 2 and attila its just annoying, especially the fucking squalor wich only makes the game more boring.
its funny i can tell you arn't used to the central regions on legendary, hojo, usugi or takeda you get royally forked in terms of aggression.

If you keep having trouble with bandicam you could always try "Action! - Gameplay Recording and Streaming" on Steam, I haven't had problems with it yet
I always choose hard difficulty in every total war game I play and shogun 2 is the only one (I never got into Attila so that's excluded) where I actually have trouble winning a campaign. The battles I can manage well but that realm divide fucks me hard every time. No matter how many battles u win the armies just come at you nonstop. I only won like 1 campaign from 5 attempts with different clans, and the one I won with was shimazu.

The parts where you catch yourself talking during the loading screen and then chastise yourself are funny. Sorry you have the issues recording the game, love Shogun 2, though. It was my first Total War game. I always enjoy seeing you work through it.

a tip for future battles, Always use yari wall for ashigaru. Tell them to run an attack, and when they're almost at the enemy, put them in yari wall.

anyone want to tell me what the point of battle time limits are?
To prevent the attacker from sitting idle and wait for the defender to attack them. This encourage the one who declare attack actually have to attack during battle phase. And also prevent endless battle when no one want to take the intiative.
Is there a forum where people post disasters like this? I know Legend doesn't post the disasters cause only a few viewers like myself would be interested in them. I've gotten kind of bored of playing 'normal' Total War, but TW like this would definitely suck me back in!
I think he gets these saves only via e-mail in the video description. He mentioned once that the number of saves he is getting just from that is quite large, even though he is quite picky in which ones to do in order to make a good show.

In Shogun 2 those kind of scenarios aren't that unlikely. And his tech opening is actually pretty solid (the cav focus isn't that smart but as Tekeda understandable). It is just that his army composition is really bad and his army size way to small for the time.

Some how he spent all his money on nothing lost his capital and everybody has declared war on him. he has Nothinig built in his settlement and why is there a massive stacked healthy army outside his settlement when his army is inside is beaten up ,ok let’s say he fought a battle and lost it and somehow the Ai did not chase he makes it back to his undeveloped fort then a new army comes out of nowhere without him replenishing his army or getting new units.he clearly did not even try to make peace with any factions since legend did it easily.
@@silvermasktraveler1788 I disagree. As you can clearly see, he built in his capital an katana dojo, a tier 2 stable and the rest of his buildings are upgraded as well. This isn't exactly cheap and in addition, those katana samurais and the katana cav. are expansiv in recruitment cost and maintenance. Which perfectly explains why he doesn't has money. And the army out of nowhere are rebels (they have the typical rebel banner) and northern shinano is in unrest which explains the rebels.
The only thing I don't understand is how the ikko ikki managed to capture kai without taking shinano.

Fall of the Samurai is just being rebranded though, it came out several years ago before Rome 2.
@@e.hanker193 Yes, literally the only reason they're rebranding it btw is specifically to try and save the reputation of the saga sub-series. I strongly doubt troy will be good. So they've just decreed that FoTS is a "saga" game now so that people don't dismiss all future saga games.
