  • Well, it was a pretty crushing day, I had a tough ride ahead and somehow ended up in a weak emotional space which, as you can imagine, things didn't go so well from there. But of course it's all in perfection and truly there are no bad days. Today was a wild ride in so many senses, hope you enjoy it with me.

I have seen many people from the USA and Canada who live in El Salvador and say that at first they were afraid that people would be so nice to them or if they were looking for something in return since in their countries people are very cold, now they say they are They got used to that generosity of the locals and that they no longer have to be on the defensive all the time as they did in their countries, they are already used to the generosity of Salvadorans. 💜

So sorry for all you went through, but most Salvadorans will never consider anyone in trouble a bourses, it is almost in our blood to help somebody who is in trouble. We just won’t feel well if you ignore a person’s need and jus pass along leaving you behind left to your own luck. That’s why they did all they could to help you. However as you mentioned that could be sometimes overwhelming and interfere in your straight thinking. Glad you made it to the top eventually.

It’s easy to feel down, but I have to tell you I’m very impressed with your spirit. It’s not easy for anyone to wrestle a 500 lb motorcycle on your tip toes. I’ll bet there’s a lot of guys who would have had more problems than you did. I think you handled yourself very well, especially considering the added communication issue. I thought dropping your extra weight off was brilliant and will consider that in the future. The view at the top was exceptional, and I congratulate you. Keep going girl🙌🙌.

Im glad to see you plow though your emotions and found the bigger picture withing you. You are accomplishing more then the average person that WISHES they could do half of what you're doing this very moment... the gusts to just pick up and travel. alone ... on a motorcycle.. that in itself it what we all inspire to do. I follow other solo riders, and sometimes they are stuck in the middle of nowhere without anyone to help them. At least you had people who were helping you. Please don't dwell on it. It happens. It's all part of the adventure, right? Everyone needs to be "saved" once in a while. I have an ego, but if I'm physically or mentally stuck, I welcome a helping hand. Keep riding! This is why someone will always be willing to help you carry the weight even if you didnt ask them to. Be this a fault or a blessing, that’s just how it is. What’s important is that you made it. That experience would’ve made me feel that I wasn’t alone on my adventure. Everyone needs a little help now & then and it doesnt make our achievements any less important. What a view!

I did it on my DR650 in the end of second week of April this year, loaded up. Broke my rear luggage rack. Coming down the next day looks more daunting. Luckily, the truck guys helped me take my luggage down to the entrance. Kudos to you for putting the hardwork in editing these videos. I can't imagine doing it while traveling. I'm currently in Colombia going south. Cheers!
Edit: I just finished watching the whole video and I really admire the strength you've displayed during your ascent, in admitting how you felt and finally seeing the bright side.

I just want to say the distance you did make it is a big achievement. That kind of terrain is extremely exhausting and I would have done exactly what you did and taken the ride. The end view was breathtaking to say the least.
One question I have is - do you have an air pump? The reason I ask is motorcycle tires are very rigid at normal inflation and they just fight against every nook and cranny - so the best way to reduce the strain on your arms and the bike itself is to lower the pressure in the tire so they flex more to the terrain rather than fight against it. The issue is - you need a pump. You also need to make sure you don't go too fast for too long as there isn't enough air to dissipate the heat and you don't want to risk blowing out. Just a thought. It may have helped a bit for that rough terrain, but it would still be exhausting.
You are an inspiration and I look forward to your next video!

I do have an air pump! But I definitely didn’t even think to use it then, that’s a great idea. Thanks for the detailed information. I should really start experimenting so I can more of a feel bc I never adjust them and it’s a great idea. Thank you!!
