I miss DingDong and Julian. Chris and DingDong has amazing chemistry and Julian adds good commentary, but I definitely feel as if DingDong has changed somewhat to a slightly more serious demeanor.
I can't believe Sega was expecting Forces to succeed over Mania. A game that looks like the best parts of everyone's favorite Sonic games vs. just another 3D game.
The problem was that they tried fitting in _everything_ fans wanted. They’ve got 2D, 3D, an OC creator, everyone’s super serious, every single Sonic character is back and has to add their own snappy dialogue so things aren’t _too_ serious, and every villain from old games are back for no reason. They wanted it to be a jack of all trades but it isn’t a master at anything, so it’s just all over the place
This game is beautiful. Sega should consider licensing it and selling it or giving the creators the chance to make an official game using these assets like they did with Sonic Mania.

Nah, it could've been considered "finished" with all levels about 10-15 years ago, the modding scene has just kept up surprisingly, so there's still small updates/mods.

If this game would have came out back in the day it would have given Super Mario 64 a run for its money, and we might still have had Sega vs Nintendo console wars today, also I liked the Dark Souls bonfire reference in Eggman's Castle zone 1
What's nice about this game is that Sonic is never on a "track in the sky". You can go as fast as you want without risk of the game fucking up and clipping you off the track. Every goddamn 3d Sonic game does that and it's a parody of itself now because of it.
What in the world are you talking about? When has clipping *ever* been an actual concern outside of the adventure games and boom? The only clipping im aware of needs to be triggered on purpose. While possible, it's not something you do by just going fast. I genuinely have no idea what you're referring to

I played this game way back in first grade, 2009 when I got my first laptop for my 10th birthday. Fuckin loved it up until like 3rd grade, and then I entirely forgot about it. This was very nostalgic for me to watch.
I really hope someday we get to see dingdong and Julien come back for another let’s play. It would be incredible to see them play Kingdom Hearts 3. As much as I like everyone on oneyplays I always really liked how down to earth dingdong and Julien could be and I liked hearing them talk passionately about games.

I've been keeping an eye on that but I'm still worried it'll be held down by being an improvement to one of the worst games I have ever had the displeasure of playing. Will likely still give it a go.
Jump is bound to bumper so that you can keep your right thumb on the camera controls while still being able to jump with the standard controller grip. If jump were bound to a face button you'd have to either use a southpaw grip to jump and still have camera control while jumping or take your right thumb off of the camera controls.
Ding Dong did an old stream of an earlier build of this fan-game with Cory, Karnivore89 & RC64 where they all just shat on it that was honestly one of my favs of his old TBG era playthrus. But it is still cool to see DD come back to it years later and go from calling the devs idiots to praising it's many improvements.
You guys should play the Project Brutality 3.0 mod for classic Doom. It's crazy how people add to how good the original games are. I recommend using the IDKFA music pack and finding a HUD you like too.
I'm kinda glad they stopped before they got too far in to this game. To the unpracticed player, the Lava zone and Egg Rock are literal hell. And if you can't do Egg Rock well, how can you be expected to do Black Core? This game is a great balance of letting you control your own fate, and also ramping up the difficulty based on the environment and progression. It's hands-down my favorite Sonic Fangame, and that's considering how many of them I have on my PC due to the last SAGE.
for me the appeal was massive with the SA1 SA2 stories, they were amazing and so was the plot of both, it has struggled to be anywhere near as good since, I still love sonic though
I don't think there's ever been an OneyPlays where the cast was so focused on the gameplay itself
