"I only hold one type of prokaryotic cell in my hands tonight, and it's not you Tyra." How? How are you so ridiculously, weirdly, funny!? I just love you!
That bit killed me omg
Tyra is not a true prokaryote, she’s just a bunch of eukaryotic cells stacked in a trench coat
When Tyra said to Anna, “how does it feel to be the only plus size model” I choked on my drink. PLUS SIZE?! Anna looks like maybe a size 4 or 6, hardly even close to plus size. The early 2000s truly were wild and the reason why I still have body dysmorphia to this day
In 2003, anyone above a size 2 was considered plus size. I remember in Tim Gunn's blog for Project Runway, he referred to one of the models as "plus size" and people were reacting pretty negatively to that because she looked a size 4 at most. The early 2000s were way behind from where we are now in terms of body inclusivity
(hugs you)
It reminds me a lot of "The Devil Wears Prada" when they gave Anne Hathaway grief for being a size 6.
To disgusting, simply DISGUSTING!!!
Plus Tyra claims today she was a “beauty crusader “ for models and their bodies not being so skinny yet she showed something totally opposite on the show.
This show straight up conditions people to accept abusive employment environments. There are multiple episodes of serialized crime dramas that deal with a model or a series of models being coerced into modeling nude and then forced into ... more. And this show is a huge reason that it's still happening, especially as its impact grew and the offshoots started. Tyra Banks effectively set the modeling world back a couple decades with challenges like this.
Much like abuse for those who work in retail.
@@samuelwallace1797 really? How so?
@@melodyandbryanphillips8304 having to put up with rude customers and having to apologize when they're not wrong, and that's only a start.
@@melodyandbryanphillips8304 Threats of retaliation from Management if you complain to corporate.
@@samuelwallace1797 thanks for answering, Wow, I never knew that. Leaving the employee with no way to actually address issues that may be going on. Yeah, that’s messed up.
I’ve rewatched this one 3-4 times now and every time I hear Tyra’s “top advice” of ‘wanting something so much you don’t have a backup plan’ my blood boils even more. What a ridiculous thing to tell young women entering an extremely fast paced, competitive, volatile industry. A backup plan is just good sense, not a lack of dedication.
If your advice is to want a job so bad that not getting it will send you to the ocean and you won't come back, you are no longer qualified to give advice. It's wildly unhinged. So, pretty on brand for Tyra, I guess.
Apparently the girls explained Jenascia on set that they didn't notice she wasn't there because they were still so new to each other, so they just didn't think of her until they were on the van + production wouldn't allow them to go back to the apartment (I think the elevator was transporting equipment from production). Also, Nigel himself explained he didn't mind Jenascia being late because the makeup for the girls before took a long time anyways so she still was "on time".
I believe the whole thing was a produced storyline, where Jenescia wasn't informed. I think it was set up for Jenescia to be left behind, to wake up late, panic, cry, be called, arrive and everything's alright again. They had a film crew in the house, filming every girl wake up. Filming the alarms. I don't buy, that it "just happened". I think production arranged it that way. Maybe even without the other girls knowing.
@@johanneshalberstadt3663 The crew isn't allowed to interact with the girls AT ALL so even if they wanted to help her they just couldn't, they are there just to record. I do think them not letting the girls go back to the apartment was a way for production to cause drama since one girl could have easily used the stairs to get to the fourth floor in no time.
Now to be completely honest, if you're competing for something you truly want, I think you're expected to set your own alarm and get yourself up no matter what..
Nigel talks about it in his interview with Oliver Twixt… like 36 min in. He basically says he didn’t know until he rewatched with his daughter during the pandemic that they left without waking her up and he was told by production to go fuss at her for being late even though he typically wouldn’t do that even if he was annoyed because he wouldn’t want to make someone he has to photograph feel bad and make his job harder.
@@bobcatred yeah there was a couple times in the show that they tried to make nigel seem like an uptight asshhole
@@purplemonkey9575 I agree that everyone should have set their own alarms, but as a defense to Jenascia, literally the night before several of the girls were claiming they would absolutely help the other girls make sure they get up and get around on time, so I don’t blame her for having faith in them tbh. I know it’s a bit naive of her to trust people she barely knows but I really don’t want to blame people for trying to see good in others.
Regarding the one model talking about being hungry. Shandi said in a recent interview that frequently while filming this season there was no food and they would be left hungry. Most likely in a bid to keep their emotions nervous and heightened to make good tv. That's why later in one episode one model ends up out of her mind drunk. Because she hadn't been given any food to eat all day and was then given alcohol and told to relax and party.
this was sadly common in a LOT of early reality tv, it's insane to think about.
Probably they also just didn’t put it in the budget. Reality TV producers aren’t just these evil, manipulative psychos. They’re also incompetent.
I've done full body paint modeling/photo shoots. I don't understand why they can't give them these skin-tight panties and use thin, skin toned pasties if they're uncomfortable. I looked completely nude but I was covered in the public events.
Idk. It's clearly not an option for the drama.
They were definitely given pasties and what looks like the groin pasties. You can see it in the girl who had hair ringlets around her boobs. The problem is that many Christians think that doesn't count as covered up. They'll do tiny swimsuits so fast, but lingerie, or skin tone/ "nude illusion" garments are somehow unacceptable. 😒🙄 We saw it in cycle 1 with Robin and Shannon. So many people have these arbitrary "lines" they won't cross, and some make no sense considering other things they're willing to do.
@@ophilianecr oh thanks. I mostly listened to the show while cooking so I didn't see the make-up process.
And you're right 100%
Not to mention, in the season before this, they were offered nude colored boob bands & underwear to 'simulate' nudity without actually being nude, and the two women STILL declined that. So I think they do offer that, but yeah, EVEN WITH that, some still end up declining. 🤷🏻♀️
Edit: Woops just realizing this comment is 1 year old. 😂😅 My bad.
The girl asking about food is actually quite telling, knowing how things were bts. It's presented as if she's complaining, but I would be the same; no fucking way I'm working without food cause I bet they have been waiting for HOURS on the sidewalk and in the bus before getting there. So, Tyra, where👏is👏the👏food?👏
where is the foooooodd ?? where is it!???
Seriously. And skinny people will pass the f out if they don’t eat!!! They don’t have any backup energy!!! Gods what torture p*rn of a show this was
I was a model in the dark ages 50s-70s. We were helpful to each other behind the scenes…and this is nothing like what we did. There was live commentary about what we were wearing and our walk had to fit the time marks. We did a swivel turn halfway down the runway, and halfway back. At the end we had to strike 3 poses that showed the garments for photographers, left front, front, and right front..🖤🇨🇦
The reason the runway audience are military and first responders, is due to 9/11. A lot of shows during these times/decade really wanted to incorporate them due to the traumas that showed after the events. Especially this being in New York.
Yeah, it aired in 2004 so I'm thinking it was filmed in '03 when the US invaded Iraq.
this is 100 percent why. a lot of things during this time had this crazy intense patriotism. Like there are disney channel commercials of the teen stars talking about how "inspiring" seeing the American flag is and it'm like this is straight propaganda
@@dacrayzblaze1 yeah I remember the commercials you are talking about. They were kinda random and weird looking back.
Pretty much any war time includes the whole “support the troops” spiel. War is a business and it needs buyers
The thing I remember most about 9/11 is all the weird and obvious propaganda that happened for years after. And the xenophobia, lots of that.
Isn’t it crazy that Anna’s child is 22 years old now! Old enough to be on this show now themselves! 🤯
Oh gods 23 now. I’m gonna be sick

The matching Tyra necklace situation was very creepy-cult... 💀
I would have sold that on eBay for like 2 grand lol

Yeah! And does anyone remember if it was tyra’s show where she gave the audience blinged vaseline?? Like just rhinestones ig and the way tyra hyped the audience getting something super duper amazing 😂
This elimination sent a message to not say no to production this is how they got away with the race swapping shoots in later seasons.
I agree that it sent the message to not say no to production. It shows that a contestant who refuses to do a photoshoot that makes them uncomfortable will be eliminated.
I can’t imagine having a child and being married at 24, that feels so young these days 💀 like I’m currently 23 and still struggling with being an adult and life as a whole, if someone said to me I’d have a baby and marriage next year I’d scream and run away 😭
Omg I’m 24 and I’m married and am having my third baby😂 it sounds kind of young but then I think yeah but people just settling down at 30 seems kind of old to me? We’re all different, it’s cool that some people want to have kids young and get married and some wait or maybe never choose to settle down.
I got pregnant and married the baby daddy who I had dated for less than 6 months at 18, had my daughter at 19, got separated/divorced at 22….. and I’m 24 now with a 5 year old daughter. Life is definitely overwhelming I promise you that. 🥹
The fact that Anna was their plus size model has really clued me in to why my mother told me that I was too fat when I had a moment of "oh maybe I'd like to be a model" back when I was 19. 😅
Re-watching these along with you has opened my eyes to a bunch of stuff. Thanks, Luxeria
Sending you much love and I hope you've come around this trauma x
@@aleathtuthranduriel That's very kind of you - that particular conversation was 15 years ago so it stings a lot less these days. ☺️
I weighed 118 lbs in hs at 5'8 and my mom told me I could go on the show if I lost 20 lbs AND IT DIDNT BOTHER ME BECAUSE I AGREED WITH HER
I just hope you’re clear tho that that’s not Top Model’s fault, the industry was far worse than that.
@@thetriplethreat3 oh I know. It's still pretty bad, although things are very VERY slowly getting better.
Jenascia said in her interview with Oliver Twixt that she got up in the middle of the night to shower and stuff so she could avoid the rush that it would be in the morning. So she ended up going back to sleep after that not waking up. She must be a heavy sleeper too. Ha And yeah production wouldn't let April go get her.
If I have to hear Tyra say, "I love a plus size girl" (knowing she means a size 12 maximum) one more time, I'll piss blooddddd
The rampant normalization of "let someone at a photoshoot make you change your morals" is SEETHING
I also noticed that she started off by implying that "dedication" was so important, which I think was set up to make Anne look like just by being married and having a child made her less dedicated. I think they choose people who don't have that kind of automatic support system, so that they have noone while they're on set to give them any perspective that they can have a life outside of modeling
Mad respect for Jenasia for helping April. That was really good of her. They are competing but to be an ass only screws up your karma
Hell yeah Luxeria referring to Lilith when talking about the first woman and Eve. Loving that! Not a lot of people know who/what she is. So thank you for saying that and putting it out there for people to get educated on! Love you Lux! 🖤
I have to say this is mostly an ant-Jewish/Christian thing atheists say because they don’t know enough. Probably found it on Facebook or something. Sounds good but it’s not true
One of my cats is named Lilith in her honor! It's very exciting to have attention brought to her! Thanks Lux!
Still another mythological character though...
@@GMW.artist Well so is Adam and Eve...

Ok, so we're gonna just speed on past Catie saying, "fifteen chapel" instead of Cistene(spelling) chapel lol that was so adorable 😆
I loved this show so much growing up. Mainly the photo shoots and then seeing the photos . I wish they would show them longer. I remember trying to emulate certain looks and still reference certain ones in my mind from time to time. Had no recollection of how unhinged the show was till I had 2022 goggles on.
I completely understand that. that was my attitude as well
Me too! I’m a photographer now and sometimes I still really appreciate the photos they created on this show (sometimes). Even though I wasn’t super into photography yet when this aired, I was very into visual arts so seeing the final photos was the best part for me!
It really helped me learn my angles! Before this show I had pretty bad pictures of me, because everyone always wanted to take pictures full front and stuff, but I have a huge head with a massive forehead, small nose, eyes, lips, so I usually look like FOREHEAD rest of the face. So I learned the tip my head back a little and to have my face to the side, also how to compensate for my big girls and stuff. The photoshoots were the best part. Sadly they really amped up the drama later on, but that's American competition shows. UK or Australian shows are a lot more laid back.
As an artist in hated that the Show was 5% fashion and photoshoots and 95% drama..
I am with you there. Cultural change is the most bonkers thing in the world. I genuinely COULD NOT SEE how wrong this was. I trusted Tyra, and trusted that she must be doing her best for these women.
I think an Oliver twixtclusive Jenascia explained that she had already waken up, but then went back to her bad and somehow fell asleep. On April's end, she tried to go up the elevator, but saw some camera crew or production members shaking their heads no, so she mistook them as some authoritative figure, which is why she went back into the van. Thanks for doing these Scandal Girls recaps. I love your reaction videos!!! :)
From my experience in a talent agency for film and television, any nudity in a contract was outlined in basically a SEPARATE CONTRACT where there was the agreement, the outlined list of production needed (which is supposed to be as limited as humanly possible on a closed set), and the script sides of the EXACT scene in question. For each scene involving nudity, there needs to be a separate package for EACH SCENE. It really makes me question the.... ethics??? of these moments??? I get it that riders have changed a lot since the early 2000s but it still seems really shady to say the least...
It's a little heartbreaking to see all these young, beautiful and motivated women entering Tyra's own Stanford prison experiment 😬
Luxeria's expression of a caterpillar bug is hilarious tho 😂💖
The second season of _Top Model_ was twice as problematic as the first, and I cannot WAIT to see the gout and scandal of it ALL!
I vaguely recall hearing somewhere back during the early seasons of ANTM when the winners weren’t “making it big” that the girls really started out disadvantaged because the had to be 18+ to be on the show because they couldn’t do the filming schedule with minors due to labor laws and to really go big in modeling you had to start well before 18. Some of that might have been PR to cover for the fact that the high fashion people didn’t want reality stars, but I think underage girls as models and actresses in very sexy roles probably was probably way more common and not considered nearly as problematic back then, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it certainly did make it harder.
Ooooh, that does make a lot of sense!
Oh it still is the case today, the norm in France is to start at 16 (age at which you are free to leave the educaional system) and they are recruited by agencies before this age.
Yep it’s why AusNTM had their competition from 16.
Aus and Nz are a couple of the strongest franchises (in my opinion).
@@aveuch completely agree
Literally the only reason it's "rude" to put your elbows on the table is because it was considered taboo due to the fact that it apparently meant you were ready to fight someone.
Tucking hands under the table gave people more time to stop a fight.
So basically it is out-dated and stupid, and I don't follow that rule at all. Why do something that means nothing??
Put your elbows on the table. Who cares!? :D
It is still rude. When you put your elbows on the tab you are invading te space of the person sitting next to you. Good manners are always manners.
I do so love when Lux flexes her science degree. 🤓
Thank you so much for being who you are. You keep me company when I can't leave the house, use my brain, etc (chronic pain).
I loved your casual comment about not liking nostalgia because it can bring sadness. I feel that so much, especially with my major depression. I've never heard someone else say that and it makes me feel like I must be a bad person.
We're about the same age but my life has really stopped from the chronic illness and chronic pain. I really look up to you and the way you communicate. Keep it up babe!
Just sending you some love - Luxeria’s videos really help me too on bad pain days 🥰
Thank you for this. I’ve been feeling alone lately, and isolated. My husband means well but he doesn’t live inside my body, so he doesn’t really truly understand how chronic pain and fatigue feels. I can’t make it up the stairs most days more than once or twice and even then only for the restroom… if I try going upstairs and spending time outside my room(which is in the basement because it’s comforting and because it’s my space…) it’s always a chore because I have to navigate sensory issues, seating arrangements for comfort and accessibility, etc etc. and most days I just can’t be bothered… I’m comfortable in my environment… but it is still lonely sometimes. My husband and I have separate sleep schedules, and he has two jobs to support us, so he sleeps in another room due to the sleep schedules and also due to my comfort… I sleep better by myself…
The overall point of this accidental info-dump, was that your comment spoke to me as if I’d written it myself… and it’s nice to see that someone else understands. Thanks.
Shandi said in an interview with oliver twixt that in her casting she yelled I don’t want to work in walgreens anymore! Or something like that lol, she was basically joking but she was chosen. She also joked around with the people behind the camera, they talked with her for a long time but they didn’t do the same with the other people who were auditioning. Says a lot about her persona.
"if we smacked a red dress on her, and some stilettos, we could turn her out" 56:02
Ma'am that's high-key prostitution talk in a non sw-friendly way.
I loved how later on in the show they started doing "best photo" because these early seasons it was very much "in no certain order" that the girls really received no idea of their abilities or standings in the competition.
I watched this when it released and I so desperately wanted to be Shandi. I'm so glad I never went into modeling then... But also she was one of the people who made me feel more comfy in my scrawny, nerdy-looking skin.
Me too!! She was my favorite the entire time. I loved the girl who won too (not saying her name so I don’t spoil for anyone reading this) but I really wanted it to be Shandi. I 1000% agree that you should never do any photos you don’t want to do. My husband and I are both art photographers and we have contracts that every model signs. If it’s a nude shoot, it’s discussed WELL in advance and extremely clearly. You establish what the model’s boundaries are (topless vs full nude, for example) and everyone is on the same page. It’s not fun to have an uncomfortable model, for any reason.
Another thing about making sure everyone is consenting; if you don’t have the model’s express permission, she can easily contact you any time in the future, tell you she’s changed her mind and ask you to take the photos down/stop using them/remove them from the show/whatever. It still happens even with consent and we always honor their wishes, but it can really suck and mess things up. Less scrupulous photographs will force the model to purchase the rights to the photos to the model, often for a very hefty fee they can’t really afford. Photographers don’t want models to do anything they’ll regret. Models don’t want to find themselves in this position. Everyone just get consent.
”Where’s boat?” For some reason I just died at that 😂
I think it was rotten of them to do the nude shoot so early on, and to not inform the models BEFORE they even sign up for this show that nudity would be needed. if nothing else, they should have offered alternatives like nude body suits or a more covered look. I think Anna seemed a bit entitled in how she described herself not doing the "ungodly" work, but I will also admit that her look seemed to have the least amount of paint and accessories. Some of them appeared almost fully clothed with opaque paint and tons of accessories that changed their silhouette.
Absolutly here for the biochemisty jokes.
Same. More, please.
Actually having Tyra draw and explain the Kreb Cycle would he classic!
Love that you used a hilarious clip of Lulu the cat. I really feel for Jenascia in this because I'm a super heavy sleeper and I know how much it sucks to not wake up even when there's enough happening for everyone and how it causes so many problems.
Yeah, I personally think that jetlag or being really tired from so much travel could have definitely played into why she was knocked out as well.
Lulu is soooo cute!
She said in an interview that the producers kept them out super late at Tavern on the Green, and she went to bed at 2 am, but got Shandi to set her alarm for 4 am so she could shower and shave (their directive for the morning) to avoid the bathroom rush. She got out and tried to get more sleep in, but obviously she only had a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep and must be a deep sleeper. I’m like that too, once I’m out, I’m out.
Wow, so much later, and having experienced so much more life, I find the "get naked in front of lots of strangers so we can judge your nude body" so soon to be incredibly predatory. I'm very belatedly disturbed.
How are we on season 2 already?!??! Perfect way to keep me company while I prep dinner!! Can't wait for the dramaaaa!!! Much love x
She said “The Fifteen Chapel”?!

Luxeria, when you said “Did you birth an android?” I screamed with laughter 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't think I had seen cycle 2 until I saw Mercedes then so many memories of me as a child just rooting for this girl to win rushed into my head. I'm honestly excited to see why 10 year old me liked her so much
Same. I think this was just so traumatic based on making regular women think their bodies were inadequate, plus the things they’d say… I just yeeted this whole series from my mind.
I love Mercedes too!!! She just seemed so sweet and bubbly and genuine. Plus she made it far in the completion, she’s a great model! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The first "runway" had me curious & had something pulling at my memory. Why the military audience? The US invaded Iraq in 2003, when Cycle 2 was likely filmed (aired in 2004). Morale for troops...
Honestly, that biochemistry joke was everything! The fact that you can be so hilarious, articulate, and intelligent so effortlessly is one of the things I love about your content.
I would like to say, when I went to the casting in Portland they did list out wardrobe styles that you are to consent to if your consenting to do them. If she had marked it, it would have also been a contract violation. Which day most agency is terms to terminate contracting.
Interesting! So it listed something like, “You’ll be wearing bikinis, lingerie, gowns, nude,” or something? Cuz that would make a lot more sense as far as consent goes. I’d hope they’d at least do that much, but I could be giving them too much credit.
I've been a model for over 10 years, almost 15, if you don't think there is sabotage and cattyness you're very incorrect. It used to be wayyy worse but it isn't so bad now, though it does happen! It has evolved into something different.. it's hard to explain. I'm happy to see some progress but there's still a long way to go!
Take a drink every time they say “plus size”
Tyra: “everybody is different”
Production: show two girls who look the exact same 😂
EXACTLY! I looked around the room and was like "it's gonna take me a sec to figure out the difference between like five of these people."
“A painting of like the Fifteenth Chapel”
Oh no. Oh sweetie, bless your heart...you tried.
The difference between an estimate and a guesstimate is your confidence in your accuracy. You say 'guesstimate' when you want to signal that you're really unsure.
The whole thing about her being 3hrs late, yes she should not have relied on the others, and they should/could have made sure she was up. Production would have known she was asleep still - how did none of them notice them filming her in bed.
So fine they had to leave, but as soon as they arrived at the shoot - and told Nigel that she wasnt there, how did it take them so long to call her?
Stirring up drama (with Nigel likely holding out on telling ANYONE to call the hotel) and to make the girl feel bad. Yes, she should have mainly relied on herself, because not everyone is going to pay you back for a helpful hand you gave them.
🙌 television drama🙌
Exactly. The phone is ringing off the hook yet there's a camera person trained on her for an hour plus.
They have instructions of no interfere with the show, because they wanted to capture the "reality" of it all
I at first thought they would keep the mom for inspiration porn moments ("life isn't over when you are married, pursue your dreams") but keeping Jenascia makes sense from a drama potential viewpoint - there is lots of tension now and tension is what production wants. Also why am I so invested in all these reality shows lately? It's such toxic TV but at the same time so entertaining, especially with your commentary.
Yeah, Jenascia is really set up to provide interesting drama from here on out
Biochemistry jokes yeeees queeen we are here for it! Appreciated very much by this bunch of cool nerds, medical professionals and scientists at the other side of the screen 🤓
YES! YES! I CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW THIS TURNS OUT *activates Hubble telescope*
LOL
What they said was plus size back then is WILD! Obviously they still have plus sized models who are quite slim and "perfect" dimensions, but we also have genuine plus sized models who have body types that are a bit more "average person"
Me (Luxeria's voice): "America's Next Top Scandal Girls! Gout!" Lol.
Sidenote: I loved Cycle 2. Great cycle but very problematic. I don't wanna give out any spoilers, but let just say it didn't age well when it comes to certain topics that you instantly may pick up, Luxeria.
If people are watching this video I dont think they care about spoilers. Plus it was made like 15 years ago. I wouldn't worry about it
One of my favorites!
This was during the reign of Kate Moss and the "heroin chic". That's why the "plus size model" was size 10!
I remember about a decade ago, my mom was listening to catholic radio and they interviewed a girl who spilled a lot of tea. I don't remember who it was though. I'm wondering how much consent and ability these girls had to give full consent to be on this show. This was probably the most predatory show for getting kids, legally sure they're adults, but they are fresh out of highschool and unfortuantely most in cases where they can be easily victimized.
“Waif” was a 1960’s term to describe the “Twiggy” body type. Only recently has the term become not so nice. I am thankful that being voluptuous is in vogue! This girl (me) has the boobies and the booty!! good to finally be in fashion 😂🙏🏻❤️😂
In the MTV show Daria, they had an episode all about a fashion magazine called Waif. I thought that was hilarious!
I watched this when it first aired, and rewatching it now I immediately remember that I did NOT like that Eric guy from that “extremely popular” magazine that no one’s ever heard of. He says a lot of problematic stuff and I am so excited to see Luxeria read him to FILTH!! GOUT!!
42:19 …..did Catie just call the Sistine Chapel the “fifteenth chapel” in describing what was painted on her body? I’m not sure if I’m hearing it correctly. If so, that’s hilarious, and not because it’s wrong. It’s just absolutely adorable
10000% I thought I was hearing things too.
That first “runway” was just so mean. Also looking forward to next week’s episode of UK’s next top microbiology GOUT!
Luxeria, you weren't bullied by girls who looked like that, you were bullied by girls who were TRYING to look like that! Take their skin and WEAR IT BETTER.
Eek I’m so excited!! I love these videos and your reactions! They truly brighten my day❤️❤️
Anna’s PLUS SIZED?!?!?!!!!! WTTTTTTTTTF!
nigel saying "photographer shouldn't direct a model" uh then who should? there wasn't active creative director so it falls for a person who sees what is being photographed. models don't have mirrors behind you, how whould they know if they make some mistake. the "amputee" photo could have been avoided if nigel saw it and pointed it out right away. ugh that man pisses me off
I am so excited!!! I love cycle 2. Shandi and Mercedes my queeensssss. Luxeria you are an icon
😂I feel the same way about the word “guesstimate”! Just say estimate! I love your channel and it makes so happy when you post a video.
I can't wait to see how this turns out
I feel like they set Anna up to fail having the most ... unpainted ?
Suit or whatever .
I cant wait to watch more of this chaos though through your commentary lol
Okay if you sold branded opera glasses as merch.... I think we would all lose our collective shit. Imagine, Luxeria Opera Glasses to watch the Gout in real time
So excited for Luxeria and Cycle 2! Thank you for the flash back to the sneaker high heels I used to own 😂
2003: "You don't go to a high end, fancy restaurant and steal toilet paper"
2022: oh you sweet summer child...
Heather: "are we really gonna live on a ship?!"
Luxeria: "no heather"
LOL im dead
Ohhhkay. I found your channel by accident, and it took about ten minutes into this video to hit the subscribe button. You are *hilarious!* And even more important, you come across as being fundamentally kind. I love you!
You are the only person to make gout sound fun. Love your channel and personality.
That sunflower ! I died !
Yes Season 2! I may have accidently stumbled across you from Season 1 and spent the weekend binging your Bridalplasty (girls) and Swan (girls) content...no regrets. IT'S A SCANDAL (GIRL)!
To be honest I didn't have a shred of sympathy for Anna. Of course no is totally sufficient. It was everything else she said. Derisively talking about the other girls 'having their coochies out'. Saying it was 'for her husband' - just screams of a retrograde attitude to male ownership of their partner's bodies. Saying she didn't do it because she's trying to be "christ like" and "lady like". I'm not a fan 😂
To be clear, there's nothing wrong with wanting to restrict any form of intimacy (inc. being unclothed) to your relationship. It's the language of it that gets me.
Absolutely agree.
Still deserves and should have her boundaries respected even if the language she used regarding the other women wasn't great.
@@riversrhodell2359 Yes, that's why I said in my first comment that no is sufficient and said it was her reasoning which was why I didn't vibe with her. I also followed up by saying I recognised the boundary itself is valid, but again not the language
Umm this was 2004 it was different back then she sounds southern so that maybe just how they talk where she is from you have to remember it’s not now it was in 2004 we don’t speak the same
OMG Luxeria, THANK YOU for making that elimation edit of the cells! I had a terrible day and that made me laugh so hard! I have no choice but to continue to stan!
I don't know if you know, but whenever they say "Tyra Mail" the closed captions always read "Tyra Mayo" (like, the food "mayonnaise") and I can't help but laugh every time
Cannot believe Tyra “plus size” Yet Tyra claims today she was a “beauty crusader“ for models and their bodies not being so skinny yet she showed something totally opposite on the show.
Why I loved this show so much as a kid is beyond me 🤦♀️🥴👽
😂😂it’s baffling 😂😂
How I thought this show wasn’t fixed or produced in any way (beyond basic editing) when I was a kid watching it for the first time is beyond me! 🤣
@@NataliaAleks you’re so right! I thought it was totally real and just a coincidence that they posed in a grave right after a death
Omg same! I was obsessed with this cycle and especially cycle 6
Omg I spit out my drink in a burst of laughter at your biochemistry joke! lol
In my day I wanted to goin the army and my dad tore that straight down 🙄👋🏻he was like “ so a 6’2 …14 stone man is running at you what you going to do” !!! Don’t be stupid!!!
So then I said one day “I’m going to be a fire fighter”
So then he said how you going to carry a 20 stone bloke down a ladder 🪜!!! Now stop this nonsense !!!
It broke my heart
As a US size 18W, just the fact that Tyra said "plus size" and literally showed a picture of a US size 4??? That messed me up so much
omg I love that biochemestry joke! made my night. Love your humor girl!
I love episode 1, my favourite of season 2.
You will see how mild this season is comparing to season 3.
The old and outdated as hell ideas of what "plus size" is still baffles me to this day. The model industry is still toxic but it has thankfully come a long way since 20 years ago. Only hope that it keeps shifting and becoming more inclusive, more diverse and more embracing of all people.
Also, forever loving when you bring science into your content. ❤
So great to have your ANTM reaction videos back Luxeria. Also no offense to Roly but the way Janice said "what?" at the end. I had looked away for a second and genuinely thought it was Roly(on a soundbite/clip). 🤣
I LOVE how she switched it up in the real opening sequence and said " I've got goiter!" Instead of only GOUT the whole time!!!😄😄😄😂😂😂💓💓💓😆😆😆
My mother used to be quite picky over my table manners, it took her a while to realise I did some things differently because of the tremor in my hands and I wasn't really consciously aware of the fact that I was adapting to be able to tell her that.
Yasss I enjoyed you reviewing Cycle 1 so much so I'm so excited you're doing Cycle 2! Get ready for even more drama and scandals girl!!!!!
I have recently found your channel and I am so happy that I did. You are beautiful, funny, and smart and I love watching your videos. I won't lie... "Get in the Bin" is now a phrase in my vocabulary. You officially influenced me, you gorgeous influencer! Much love to you and your channel!
The "wow, you can really dance" made me fall in love with you because so many people don't know that video
