@@valerieberger1606you have to hear him sing dancing thru the darks from thus older movie he was in! He’s so young in it and his voice is even ✨better✨
I bet there were so many fics about Stede and Ed’s first time but no one could’ve predicted it happening after Stede’s first kill and to the sound of Izzy singing la vien rose while in drag. Love that for them
fun fact: the real stede bonnet is credited for inventing “walking the plank” so that was a fun little moment of actual historical accuracy in a show filled with inaccuracies 😂
I have not stopped humming la vie en rose all day. The whole party (the happy parts before and after the torture lmao) is so soft and wholesome and i am WEAK over it
I love when Olu says he’s tender-headed. That’s a phrase that refers to black people with sensitive scalps, especially when getting braids or cornrows.
Assertive Stede is everything. He has gotten hotter and hotter with every episode. It's ridiculous. Steve Bonnet has re-libidinized North America (and elsewhere, but I only live in America, so I can't speak for everywhere else).
When Stede joins Ed as he is talking to the kids, Ed does a quick body check of Stede with his eyes - I've watched that scene many times before noticing it 😁
as for streaming numbers, it’s consistently been in the top 10 tv shows on max for the past 3 weeks, with it often jumping up to the number 1 spot on thursdays or fridays so that feels like it bodes well for renewal!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I had La Vie En Rose stuck in my head after watching this episode :) This is probably one of the best episodes of the whole series! Just loved that beautiful, romantic ending too with the fireworks and curtains closing omg I love these two so much ❤
Con O'Neil, what a lovely voice he has. I think it would be hypocritical for Ed to turn on Stede for killing someone. I just love this whole Calypso's birthday idea, it's so fab, and Calypso turns out to be a beautiful drag queen.
I feel like it's more that ed knows the emotional toll killing takes on a person and he doesn't want stede to go through that. And yessssss omg I love the whole party so much!! All the love to wee John too, the BEST calypso
You saying you're gonna throw up is me basically every episode. This show absolutely WRECKS ME. Like turns me inside out and rearranges me every fecking episode. It is an emotional rollercoaster - one of those where you are hanging in the harness thing and they stop you while you're upside down and screaming and then they shake the cars. Yeah. Like that. I love this show so, so, so much, but I'm worried it's gonna kill me.
I've been dying waiting for the reactions to start coming in, I need to watch other people's takes to help me process what I've seen and that ending OMG 🥰🥰🥰💜🏳️🌈🏴☠️ P.s. There's a petition going around for renewal, I don't know if it'll help, but putting it out there can't hurt, the more people that know and sign it, the better.
I loved the episode but I was sad by the end, I feel that this will be what drives them apart at the end. I also dont feel good that Stede is killing people and not feeling bad about it. Anyway now Im afraid to watch the episode 7.
Honestly I feel like Stede was kind of channeling his own feelings when he decided to make out with Ed. Maybe to feel better about the situation, and to express his love for Ed.
Well, Stede's most aggressive moments are when somebody hurt his crew or Ed. Ned wanted to torture them all and ridiculed Ed. Let's also remember that Stede decided to leave Ed when Chauncey told him that he had destroyed Ed. Stede hates to think that because of him people have lost respect for the powerful Blackbeard. Furthermore, Ned also made fun of Stede. Stede became a pirate, in part, to gain some respect from others. Although I think Ned's death will haunt Stede for a long time, I see the point in killing him.
Tbh, I didn’t find the love scene romantic. Especially with the context, I found it more “lustful” and just an expression of longing and passion after a traumatic night/event.
Stede's face is distraught and he's weeping when he pulls Ed into the cabin, he just had his childhood trauma flashbacks on deck, and even though they're both into it, the energy is more desperate than desirous. Just days ago, they had agreed that they needed to take things slow bc the fish wasn't ready to be caught, and Ed of course is a mess and needs to figure himself out and keep making amends. So this is sweet and lovely but also unwise and whim-prone, which is what screwed them up in S1. And just watch the behavior and choices they both make starting right after this night together. Whim. Prone.
They probably needed to talk things through here rather than f*ck the pain away. When they talked honestly at Anne & Mary's it was constructive and brought them closer. But they also need comfort and a respite from the violence, and when would Ed ever deny Stede or himself that comfort?
I don't know if this has been a thing in every video and I just haven't notice, or if it's just a coincidence today, but I LOVE how your eyeshadow matches the light behind you!
Unpopular opinion: I don't like the fact that Stede unalived someone, the guy was a bit psycho but he was one of the least offensive 'bad guys" on the show and I don't think that was earned. But then again, Stede was probably under the influence, and he was a bit aggressive in season 1 after a few drinks, so maybe that gave him courage?
I think it kinda makes sense for the character but I do feel like Ned should’ve done something more extreme for Stede to actually decide to murder someone for the first time.
tbh I don't think we're supposed to like it? There's a reason they focused on Ed telling Stede not to do it, and his pretty obvious unhappiness when Stede did it anyway. Stede is coming to embrace the pirate life just as Ed is truly ready to leave it. I imagine that might be the storyline planned for season 3, where they finally figure out what kind of life they want together and make it happen.
@@veera9718If so, they succeeded. I don't like it. It stressed me out because we have 2 episodes left this season and no guarantee we'll get the 3rd one. That's a complex issue and I wouldn't like for them to make it shallow. Comedy show or not, they usually pull off serious scenes quite well.
@@AlfeyHolmescompletely agree with you. Today's episodes made me realize how much of a loss it is to have only 8 episodes this season. I love the show and the characters, but I can't shake the feeling that all of this could've been executed better if we had more time! Sucks there's only the finale left, and it's only 28 min too...
Con O'Neill has 30 years' worth of experience in drag and singing, of course they needed to do that scene

The girls. Both of them are girls.

After his first kill? Yeah, there are fics with that. While Izzy is singing.... maybe not, but I wouldn't bet on it.

My friend actually predicted it... sort of.
She thought it'd be after Stede's first kill, but in a much darker situation lmao.

Izzy singing la vie en rose has been living rent free in my head ngl ❤
