This season has been incredible so far. It's like the writers sat in the writers room and said, "You know what they would really love?" over and over and they built the season from there. It's sweet that you were concerned about Frenchie. I feel like David Jenkins has decided that they all have endless plot armor-they're basically indestructible. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next week!
HE SAID THE THING!!! Followed by incoherent screaming and crying is the only response to the scene. The episode was just so wholesome! We have Ed genuinely trying his best (to his ability I guess) to rectify things with the crew. Fang being the resident therapist and putting into perspective just how traumatised the crew was. Ed genuinely feeling remorse for hurting them. Lucius trying to process his anger and trauma, realising that living in it rather than celebrating where he is now is only hurting himself and the ppl who care about him. Pete being the one to talk about feelings! THE PROPOSAL. WE ARE GETTING A PIRATE WEDDING OMG OMG OMG. Roach inventing peanut butter! Olu/Jim/Archie, absolute cutest trio. Love how superstitious Olu is, even tho he’s always seen as the voice of reason! And let’s not forget about Izzy! Not only has he found a way to move on from his trauma and grief (create a narrative that heals his wounds), not only give advice about acceptance to Lucius, but also find some purpose and comfort in helping stede to become a better pirate! His pride when stede is legitimately improving! THE PARALLELS THE KISS THE HANDHOLDING I’m so unwell. This show makes me so feral.
I felt the need to point out how jim, olu, and archie are just a polycule now and I adore them. I also have the need to point out that Con has been trying to get his shirt off for a long time now and now it has finally happened and I am not complaining.
I love that Izzy couldn’t come up with a good ominous ending to his “a curse is a curse” line in the moment but then apparently thought of a better one later and posed at Stede’s desk waiting for him to come in so he could say it all dramatically
I like how they used Fang, especially one-on-one, to get Ed to sit long enough to think about how he's impacted others and hit at why he acts the way he does. I love all the characters but I gotta admit Fang was my favorite one in this episode. He's a tough (but sweet) pirate.

Lucius and Pete getting engaged, are you kidding me?!!! So sweet and such a happy surprise!! Stede and Ed finally being intimate again, but this time focusing on consent and communication?!! Loved every second of it!! They’re all moving beyond young teenage infatuation, and into adult love based on mutual respect, healthy boundaries, and talking things through 🥰 I can confidently say this is officially my favorite episode so far!
THE PARALLELS!!! 1x5 and 2x5 and the two moonlit scenes and fucking YOU WEAR FINE THINGS WELL AND THE KISS!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I also feel like their little thumb war game was improvised, but I haven't seen anything on it yet 😅 The uh...implications of Ed in a cat collar calling Stede sir and helping him find his mean voice, though 😏😅 I bet they had to split Ed from Stede in the red suit because he was going to jump his bones immediately (I mean, how could he resist 🥵😅) Lucius and Pete continue being just the sweetest, omg. I looked it up and the name Kevin means handsome or beloved and both of those are so sweet, I love we're getting more of him, he's such a sweetheart 😊 Also, the parallels between this and good omens just keep mounting up as we got the I feel like your basic and my basic are different basics, just like I think my exactly and your exactly are different exactlys 😅 And Archie having been raised in a *snake* cult made me think of a xover where they were worshipping Crowley 😅😅😅 I'm so excited to see where we go from here 💜🏳️🌈🏴☠️
I think it's funny that after all Lucius went through, he's still kinda surprised as he says 'The bar is one the floor' when he realizes no one sees the point of expecting Ed to own up to his actions. He's been through hell, but he wants his damn apology! I get that the scene was meant to convey to the audience that pirate culture is cycle of abuse, but the way Nathan delivered the line just tickles me.
***GASP*** and at the end Auntie turns herself into a bird and she and Buttons live out their lives like Karl and Olivia (I CANT EVEN). I need to stop feeling.

The writing is phenomenal. It's ability to break you emotionally in a whole new way every episode is superb.
