    Hey Kevin, this is probably my first comment on one of your videos, but I felt I could help shed some light on the speed of this kind of boat. This propulsion system is called an "Arneson Drive" It is almost half prop, half fan. It is designed to only be partially submerged while running, causing high-speed cavitation which acts almost like a jet. It looks like the boat is "chugging" while you drive it at the start. You might have the props down too far into the water. When going fast only the last inches of the boat hull are making contact with the water. Take a ruler and line it up with the prop and hold it flat against the hull. The prop should just barely be dipping into the path of the ruler. When properly trimmed this boat will make a 15-foot tall rooster tail, as it's designed that way. Cheers!

      @mickeyduvel 2 года назад +6

      Sorry, these are NOT Arneson Drives. Arneson drives steer as well, no rudder, the whole drive units (shafts and props) move left to right to steer. This has a regular rudder with fixed drive shafts, if anything, this is a Fabio Buzzi Drive set up. And they are called Surface Piercing drives, as only about half the propeller is under water when running on plane, definitely has nothing to do with a fan, lol.

    Nice video Kev. You may have watched my video of Zonda on here hitting 113mph and now up to 123.6mph all stock with only a prop swap on 6s. The Zonda will easily go over 100mph but it needs aftermarket props to hit this speed. Box stock on the raw stock props it does 55-60mph. Also you need to put floatation on the bottom of your hatch or you will lose it when it comes off in a high speed crash. Trust me it will come off LOL! Thanks for putting out all the great content. And if you want to get your boat to 100mph+ hit me up 😎

  • @dantheman20127667
    @dantheman20127667 3 года назад +194

    You need to make sure the drivelines are extremely smooth, no vibration or binding, balanced props, and you'll have to adjust the outdrives. Even just 1 degree of angle change will make a massive difference. Looks like it's running pretty wet out of the box for more stability. Getting 110 out of that boat is possible, but it's going to take a lot of patience.

  • @Leon-Servant-of-Christ
    @Leon-Servant-of-Christ 3 года назад +6

    Either the endpoints (doubtful) or you need higher pitch propellers(deeper pitch propellers are a guaranteed easier way to go faster!). Also, you can go with a slightly larger propeller than the ones you have now or even more fins(example, looks like you have a 3 blade propeller-go with a deep 4 blade) larger here doesn't always mean better when it Comes to propeller size.. You need to remember heat from the motors. Larger size props = faster acceleration but not really higher speed. Good luck Kevin!

    It's all above the drivetrain and the props. Your endpoints are perfect, more rpm and your Motors will blow up. Just screw your powertrims higher by about 1°, then try again- cause it's running wet out of the box, that causes more drag...
    Also, if your Motors and ESCs are not to hot, you could try bigger props, or with higher pitch. Easiest for you, cause you don't need to balance them, is to buy a couple of the TFL aluminium props, they are good and cheap for testing.

  • @rickholmwood2000

    You had no GPS on it, How can you say it didn't go 100 mph? You can say that you "I should stick to RC Car's" because your to rough on the Softer of RC things, You need a little Therapy? A little Relaxation! ...... I want this Boat...it's Expensive! and I don't have the Time yet to relax to do this Boat! In the Future though!

    Love your videos ❤️👍🏼😉 I always see something new in them , it’s amazing how you can make magic in them every time 👏🏻 .. many young men and old boys are jealous at you for living there dream life 🙏🏼 .. if it was possible? You could give that jet boat some down force wings , and make it the fastest sub jet boat in history of mankind 😉😁💪🏼

    MRMAD2424 set the record of 110mph using super geico props from dasboata and fine tuning adjustment at getting the boat to plane over the water just right, give him a shout. Don't forget to clean n grease the flexi shafts. I Suggest you find a big lake for that speed mind 😄 Good luck, I split the Hull on my proboat miss geico 36 doing about 70mph when i flipped it on Sunday. Top entertainment boys but watch out of its way cos it will do damage if it hits you 😉

    Hey, Kevin, you should purchase the Kronos XP V2 70 mph because it's fast and about and much like the Traxxas Maxx so it's not really dirt cheap but it'd be cool if you reviewed it and might even get it myself.
    BTW have subbed and liked the vid.
    also BTW get a Makita drill.

    It CAN go over 100mph...but, NOT on the stock unsharpened & unbalanced props. To get it to reach its true "top speed" potential, you'll need a MATCHED pair of sharpened & balanced props. Check out the videos done by secretsquirrel, and you'll see.

    Really enjoyed the video. Technically, I don't think it is 12S as that implies that the two 6S are in series. Given that they each drive a separate motor, if anything it is more like 6S2P.

    You need to balance those props. I would run a octura x457 cut down to a 47 mm. I personally would run onward rotation on props . Then start playing with trim of drives. Air that thing out a little and you will gain speed. Hitting 100 plus on the water is no joke and not easy. I have a bunch of vids of real high end builds going over 100 mph if you want to check them out for ideas.

    for 100mph you have to do a lot, first you need a new set of propellers some balanced and sharp then you have to find the perfect angle of both drivers a set of 2 batteries 6s up to 4000mah but with C as high as 100 recommended, at ESC is not need than time set at 7.5 ° degrees for the beginning, flexible axes if you could order them from OSE, they need to be replaced with some in one piece now they are in two pieces and it is good to grease them with Vaseline, then the more important is the center of gravity found and you can only play with the place of the batteries in the boat, there are many variables that influence the boat, it is difficult to reach 100mph those who did it unfortunately do not give much details, I wish you success

    Shaft too tight, must good greased...prop too small. Try graupner carbon K series 👌 sharp and don't need balanced. Try lipo little backwards or forwards check cog. Forwards given your more stable and handling but can decrease speed backwards otherwise. Depends water conditions.... chopp or flat?!
