God I wish you did more content like this. I love your content don't get me wrong but seeing you doing custom builds is what really hooked me to your channel. Your personality makes it fun to learn and watch. Please do more crazy, chaotic, fun projects.
I'm a 51 year old "noob" and came back into the hobby after building a couple of tamiya kits while recovering from a cancer op last year. I found kev while searching u tube for advise on a troublesome Absima dessert buggy. He seems to me to be a very likeable bloke who knows a shit load about RC. Some of his tips have been invaluable to me from using an elastic band for stubborn hexes,to silicone earplugs for crap diffs(Absima!) I will soon be purchasing an arrma senton totally because kev seems unable to brake them,so will make a perfect replacement for the ab1.4. Cheers kev, keep up the good work.
I LOVE Kev’s attitude. We could all learn a thing or two. I got my first arrma last year, this guy normalises just having fun with it in the best way. He even makes trying a record normal ( it isn’t ). Thanks man!
This is a channel I genuinely enjoy. Because even if I had the money this dude does. The last thing I’d be buying is RC cars. But I also absolutely LOVE seeing how absolutely mad RC cars have gotten in the past 20 years since I was a kid. I remember being blown away by petrol cars. And they only done 30mph lol
Your biggest issue is going to be finding tires that will stay together long enough that you do not completely total this build. Someone is going to need to custom make you a set, with a compound that can withstand around 250mph! Just saying that sounds insane, but I truly believe that what you have going here is easily capable of 250+.
This is a channel that when your down or upset this brings up creativity that can go into playing with rc cars. I also thought kev already went mad with these, but I was wrong!
@@procatprocat9647 while there might be a couple RC channels with technically more subscribers they don’t seem to get many views on their videos and thus far less engagement compared to Mr Talbot so I would maintain he is the biggest RC RUclipsr in the world considering the consistently high number of views his videos receive.
I love your mad scientist brain. You come up with stuff everyone thinks about doing to their RC, but you actually do it. Love your channel mate, keep up the craziness.👍👍👍
OMG, you're an animal Kev! You've officially gone bananas in a good way! I'm sure Brandon would agree. 😂 Next Kev will build a 200 hp with 3 cars put together and a 300hp motor caboose on the back to make sure it ends fashionably EPIC! 😂😂

Your content is always so different & genuine, this project looks absolutely amazing & the thought process behind it all is just brilliant. You take RC to the next level & to get over 10k likes in 4 hrs says it all ! Keep up your great work & passion Kev🥇
Hey kev, quick little tip from the 1:8 on road cars, if you mount the rear of the body to the rear hubs then it doesn’t compress the suspension at speed and just gives you more grip!
It’s really coming together better than I pictured, this is an awesome wide open attempt for sure. Props Kev for really giving it everything while at the same time making it seem doable at home by anyone.
man, I absolutely love these vids your content is just top-notch, Kevin like for real, you bring entertainment to countless people and youve given so much inspiration!!
And this is exactly why kev is the most entertaining of all time. Just seeing the notification of Kevin posting a new vid brings me rushing home to watch
This has to be one of the coolest videos you've done yet!!! Once you break the speed record... you should literally send it to the moon!!!!! Lol And break the record for highest RC car jump!!! You only get one attempt though...Lol
I think the tyres are the next issue. The smooth tarmac is relatively rough at the scale. You need to somehow get larger diameter foam tyres. I also think you need to extend the nose to pierce the air better at high speed
Hi Kev, Might just be worth running some aluminium T sections on the chassis to give it a bit more stiffness. It looked quite bendy with all the electronics in, which might be problematic at speed. Can't wait to see it in action! Atb, Ed
Kev I HIGHLY recommend setting the steering end points super low on this for the speed run, so there is barely any steering, you want to be able to make very minute adjustments as its going to be moving well over 200 mph.
Hopefully after you set some kind of crazy records with this, then go for a proper full aero fairing to see how much drag you can reduce to even further push the top speed!
Hi Kevin greetings from Thailand love your show making r c cars from scratch very impressive I'm a retired mechanic now living here in Thailand keep it up its great to watch 😊😊
I'm looking forward to that beast on the road. I think once you get the suspension dialed in, that thing will rip. I have a feeling the weight will cause some issues though with bumps and cracks in the track/road. Might I suggest some long frame stiffeners? (that go length ways down the chassis). Cant wait to see that bad boy hit the track!
I love mental builds especially if it looks half decent as well and this does have all the speed car potential in it it’s long narrow tones of power. Can’t wait to see it go
This build is wicked you nailed it 210mph Also in the beginning of the video I was kind of thinking oh no I’m not sure about this ? However as you went on I was like this is brilliant 🤓
Hey Kev, great to see the 200+mph car back on the agenda. Hot tip for cutting those tough lexan shells, try using Dremel cut off wheels (nr 409) and the Dremel flexible drive with the smaller handle. Munches through 2mm and 3mm lexan, curve cuts or straight cuts, no probs and super quick. Also, looks like it would be possible to use dual body posts (ie 4x posts at the front and 4x posts at the rear) with those body mount kits. With a car that heavy traveling at such massive speeds, it would surely be well worth trying to tie that body shell(s) on with everything available to keep it rigid and tight. 200 mph wind speeds will really drag against the body shell.
Was just going to say the same about using a dremel cut off wheel for the lexan; I also use the sanding drums or grinding stones for fine adjustments around edges of wheels or cutouts.
Kevin your nailing it brother. This is working out to be one extremely beautiful build! More power! Its gotta work, right?! Good luck my man. I'm loving the content you've been putting out. Thanks for all the entertainment, really.
Nice one Kev! Awesome project. I wonder if the extended chassis and increased weight will cause the chassis to sag in the middle? May have to use some kind of internal brace to keep it rigid.
Not sure what happened but RUclips stopped showing me your posts and I never unsubscribed. Didn't know I missed your content until I found it again. Good stuff.
This is the coolest rc video you've ever done AND the best one I've ever seen. The build quality so far is just the tops. The creativity and design are genius. Incredible! Can't wait for the next segment.
kevin has turned into a full-on mad scientist with this one. I just feel like it needs slightly bigger wheels for ground clearance. also want to see the total $ this project ends up costing.
Even with the HD springs I’m wondering if the bottom plate will bow and cause the middle of it to scrape. Might have to reinforce to prevent that. Cool video can’t wait to see the next one.
I can only surmise that you went at that plastic with scissors for comedic effect? Surely you've a dremel with a cutting wheel somewhere in that shop with all that money fly'n about on parts? Awesome build, thanks for sharing the video!
