Toy helicopters make you think that its not that bad but when you are in full control and the the helicopter does exactly what you tell it to, you realize how bad you are at it.
@Engage RC imho the hardest part of helis is keeping track of where it is pointing. Like planes go forward and if you are in trouble a little throttle can get you out of it. If you can't keep up with your inputs on a heli you are going to have a bad time lol

Flying nitro planes from a young age must have been an exciting experience! I can imagine how challenging it must be to transition to helicopters. Still not sure how you can fly helis so well, but not planes lol edit: the durability of the helis today is great, although back when helis just exploded into pieces, it did make for great content lol
Yeah, anyone with any slight knowledge of how a plane can fly, can typically keep one in the air *for the most part* lol, but collective pitch heli’s are a WHOLE different beast.
Excellent and expensive video Kevin and Mark! I subscribed today! I'm a part 107 camera drone pilot barely a year into the hobby. your video sparked my interest in helicopters. Keep up the good work!

Wow Kevin. I didn't know you flew copters too. And you fly well. I flew helis alot back from 2005 to about 2013, had tons of different helis (A mid-size Evo, a few Hirobo's Evo 50's, Raptor 50, small T-Rex's, and one T-Rex 600E) and did a lot of 3D and sport flying. My last 3D copter that I KEPT besides my small 3S/4S T-Rex's was a modest Raptor 50 but with alot of high end parts and a Kasama head. I parted with most of my heli gear right around the beginning of the 2008 Housing crisis. I was about done with the obsessive accumulation and maintenance of all those helis and luckily divested myself while there was still a market. Before nitro was $50 a gallon. Kept many of my electric planes though, those keep well and are cheap anyway. After starting helis I got somewhat into planes, and then drones after 2010. Never did the R/C car thing but since watching your channel I'm absolutely stoked about getting a couple cars. I just ordered an Omni Terminator Carbon 1/10 scale as my gateway drug. Originally I was looking at a Mojave 4S or something bigger like that, but I'm content to start small and work my way up if I enjoy it. Plus I found the Omni was on sale WITH a 3S battery included for $212 ! Can't beat that for a small bargain basher, right? Plus I can probably drive it anywhere, even by my home stretch.
I bought a decent sized and price helo a few years ago. My biggest issue was forward, reverse, left and right while hovering. The ONLY way I could "fly" it was if it was moving and I didn't have enough space. I did trim all the bushes in my backyard though hahahah.

Heli flyers are operating in spatial dimensions that my brain can scarely understand. I'll stick with land vehicles.
I can only imagine. As someone who flies planes and a small amount of quads these look insanely hard to fly.
