I wanted to compliment you you are the first one that explained how to connect the pallets and I am a first homesteader I said that wrong but I am 61 years old and desire not to pay $53 for a piece of board thank you for your help
The pig saw the tractor and was like “ruuuuun it’s Godzilla!”
Those are the nicest pallets I've ever seen. I pick up all those I could find.
That's awesome! We are just about to start building a shed for a few sheep and this js a great guide for me. Thank you from new Zealand 😊
Some how this man made this job look so simple. Just the size I need.
I love your farm. I love that you show how to do as much as possible without spending money. And you make it look nice. You’re not just throwing “junk” together and calling it good. You make the effort to make it nice. I think it’s wonderful. Really enjoy it and appreciate it. And ya had a great little helper today too! 😉 TFS! God Bless you all ~Lisa

Pallets are so great to use for just about anything. Our first garden was a 8 X 8 pallet garden. It was awesome!
That's pretty cool. Always looking for diy animal shelters that are simple and cheap. Thanks a bunch.
I continue to marvel at your ingenuity!
Excellent. Thank you so much for sharing how you did this. Wonderful. thanks again.
i built the same shelter, and a 30×60 pen from pallets tieing them together with 2×4s it lasted me 8 yrs and it was all free. just bought a handful of t post to drive down through the pallet fencing.
Good job! Love that it's free (except for labor, of course).
Perfect & man I’ve been thinking about building something similar with pallets soon so this was great timing that this came across now. Love it
I wouldn't have thought it would work. Well done
Love your videos and find them inspiring and useful. I live in the UK and the wife and I are seriously considering looking for a place with a few acres of land to do something similar to you guys. Keep up the good work and i look forward to future videos. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Like it alot! Man you can build anything. So awesome!!
That is awesome, great job.
Free builds are wonderful!
We have the same drill! Awesome video!
love it In the middle of building your chicken coop!!
Very nice! Love it!
Love it! Planning on doing something similar very soon!
Looks like it is going to work pretty good
That's a really good idea!
Good job Sir !!
👍 Very impressive! Ya done good! 😀✌🇨🇱
Nice build.
Great animal shelter.
I love your real time up close video I'm gna try this
Nice work!
Good job will be a nice little place
I would recommend that you put several wedges to fill the gaps between the roof and the frame. If a strong wind hits it would add more stress that the pallet roof can take and fall apart.
Well done !!! Congrads on 100k by the way....
Thanks!
Good work.
a old gravity box flipped upside down and then cut a hole in the side. my pigs love it. i found mine on craigslist for 50 bucks each. some rust holes but nothing a little silicone cant fix.
Thank you. I think it is great. 🙂
Nice build,.thanks. We gotta do a Goat shed and I'll use your method. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
If you put some 4x4's into the ground and secure the pallets it could work for mini horses. If not, they would knock it over from scratching their necks or butts against it. I enjoyed the video and loved watching the pig and goat.
Really nice shelter
The second hammer I ever bought was a three pound mini-sledge, several times in this video it would have come in handy. It might be easier, next time you bulld walls: start in a corner so the wall starts self-supporting. But good build, overall.
Hi Dad, I would put a couple of posts down the middle, where the pallets meet... to help with the snowload.
And I would really think about some rolled roofing for the roof.. Michigan winter is coming my friend.
I want you there helping him in the first place? It’s easy to tell somebody what to do after they’ve done the job.
A Canadian in Europe As a Michigander, I agree 100%. That snow load is no joke...
Sansom’s Pressure Cleaning & Pool Service It’s easy to retro fit to support the roof better. It’s NOT easy to rebuild after a collapse. I had a collapse last winter due to snow load. Nothing like checking the animals’ webcam during the night (because we were getting heavy snow) & seeing everything collapsed! 😱 That day started really early...lol It’s better for him to put up a pole or two now, than to have to dig out a collapsed structure & try to rebuild in 18” of fresh snow.🤷🏻♀️We were lucky to have not lost any animals. Miraculously.
The gentleman did ask for comments, and suggestions. This one was given with genuine helfullness in mind. I saw no criticisim at all. I watched to learn how-to using free materials. I will use A Canadian in Europe's instruction, bc he is right. I live in Virginia, and will not have the same snow load, but I see how the stability added is valuable also for wind, ice, whatever snow we do get, and to make it last as long as possible.
I thought about that or maybe at least at the front edge to keep those walls stable. Some tweaks will need to be done for sure
Great video
I would luv to have one of those tractor barns/shops like what u do.
Great job
I love it too! great job! Inspiring!
I don’t have the equipment but I’m on the same page, thanks for sharing!
Awesome!!!
looks pretty good
WAY COOL IDEA!
I've been using old motor oil to stain repurposed wood super water repellent. Great job have a great day of course the RUclips safety patrol might not agree with that press on in the good work.
Lol, I thought about using motor oil on the roof, still might!
My lips are sealed. LOL
That's a great idea. It would also serve to keep down bugs and stop mildew that would kill that plywood here in the south.
It isnt flammable either like some people will say. I use a 1 to 1 raito of used motor oil and diesel. The diesel thins it so that it goes on easier and can be put into a sprayer
@@CMichaelLyle great job.
Very nice 👍 thanks 🙏🌹🌹
Lol I saw this n going to make one thanks for the idea I moved to tx n going to buy goats. Yay
Great video! Love the editing in this one. You should probably wear ear pro when driving your tractor though, lol!
You are very right! I normally do!
Dude! That’s awesome. Great job!
Todd I’ll make a couple of those for storage
A great price for that kind of shelter!
probably should add some steel posts on the corners to keep george from rooting it around, pigs like to rub and push stuff around and make lots of holes
I’m totally going to build this if I decide to change the style of my farm to “Bridge Under Overpass in LA Chic.”
Awesome
you can still beef it up ,i would recommend some kind of roof on the cheap
You need some lift truck forks that go on the front of you bucket. Lumna Acres has some.
Nice shelter wondering how it does in cold weather?
Would you be able to do this with two pallets on top of each other to make it taller for horses? Would it still be secure enough?
did you finish the bunny hotels clean out pans? interested to see what you use. love the new building! great job
Not yet, this week!
This is such a great idea that I'm making a dog house just like this but with walls on the side I'm almost down
I have an abundance of pallets and need to build a shelter for my horse's, I wish pallets would work for a shelter that big 😂
They definitely will. But put in four posts for the corners. I will be building one for our horses next month
How well did this hold up?
New subscriber here! We are in Las Vegas on a small ranch. This video was perfect. I’m always looking for easy to build shelters that my hubby will actually be able to do without too much building. Did you have to secure it into the ground with posts set in cement or is it just sturdy enough on the ground? Genius!
The weight of the structure seems to be enough to hold it firmly on the cinder blocks I laid out under each pallet wall. To make it more sturdy sink 4 posts in the ground (no cement needed) at each corner but I don't think it is necessary
SSLFamilyDad Even better! Thank you for your reply
Was that regular 2 x 4 you banged into the joints to shore it up?
You are the Charlie Daniels of the Loader...
How you gonna keep that thing from blowing away?
Just seeing this awesome video! VERY inspiring but I NEED TO KNOW how to keep my goat from eating the wood we use to build his shelter? He's torn it apart😡
I know this is old but this is awesome!!! Where do you get your palettes though? I've heard there are places that give them away but I'm not sure where to start. Love your channel so much!
Look around and tucking company, warehouse, distribution places. Call them and ask, they will have plenty to give you
Is it rain proof ? Interested but might have to rain proof it
what type and size nails and screws did you use for this also
Hey, how's the pumpkin patch coming along? I know it's not much farther till your patch is open & I'm curious of how it's coming along since you haven't posted a video on updates about it in awhile. Hope all is good!
It is going ok, had some mildew issues and some vines rotting, will do an update soon!
👍good jop man
What's keeping it from blowing away?
It is super heavy
It would be awesome if you could find some used or scrap tin for a cheap price or free to help with your projects
Agreed!
Howdy Todd would this work for our goats
We will be using this for goats for sure, will be great for them
Did you tie it down?
Did you have a problem the pigs continuing to poop there my pigs always poop in the same place
Wish I could find plywood crates for free...will snow load be an issue?
I can't imagine it would be I was able to walk around and jump up and down on the roof. Snow load will be much more spread out than my weight.
So it has been a few days since this build. Has George rubbed it apart yet? Usually they rub on EVERYTHING so they are rough on buildings.
He has not rubbed anything apart yet!
How much do you have to pay for straw bales? They cost $15.00 where I live in metro Chicago.
2 or 3 dollars each normally
Putting 15 or 30 pound felt, or 90 pound granulated tar paper on the roof will last a surprisingly long time.
I actually have some felt paper, I may just do that, thanks!
So you're saying you can fit your pony in there?
Why did you put your cinder blocks in the ground the wrong way?
Great design of you have a tractor. I don't. I'll find a different way.
What state are you in?
He is in Michigan
Strap a 2x4 going down the side of the pallet roof
That is a good idea also, I could just secure it to the outside all the way down, woukd give a drip edge too. I actually should have done that before I put on the roof panels:(
SSLFamilyDad also maybe zip tie it to the blocks.
Cheap build! It does the job.
Hey nice job! Looks good and you are always so resourceful with your builds. I am taking the same approach. Check out my raised bed hat was inspired by yours!
An impact will be more effective.
Please do not go below this, it will kill you!!!😄
Every video about this topic... video started by someone on a tractor?
Very nice job it’s a shame your children weren’t there to help you instead of telling you what to do after the job was completed.
Never trust a grown man who wears short pants.
Put some clothes on the kids.

Don't be a jackass.

I'm not.
