- Getting ready to start milking all these goats! Time to build a proper milking stand. I used 3 pallets to build the stand plus some screws and a bolt. Altogether the project was free if you exclude the cost of some screws.

I appreciate you doing this project on here. I am building my first goat milking station today for my wife and your design makes the most sense of all the home builds I looked at.
This was very helpful! And the joy watching you interect with your daughters with such patience.. God Bless .Thankyou for sharing..Carol from Oregon
Great idea with that block on top!
Thank you and may God bless you.
Just LOVE seeing fathers taking the time and patience to teach their children practical things...good job.
Yeah my dad 👨 is so mean he has been cheating on my mom 👩 he is a jerk 🙄
I like to see him holding the saw handle with her so she gets the feel of it but he maintains control for safety

Thanks so much! This so far is the best way I've seen in making a milking stand!
Thanks Todd! I’ve probably watched 30 different videos on building a goat milking stanchion. Yours look to be the simplest yet.
Bravo for the idea of the bench for sitting on
this is the best Goat milk stand build I've seen.
I enjoyed and will use this to make my milking stand. Maybe to let the head lock move easier I’m gonna put a spacer on that side
Great plan! We are a sustainable farm and believe wholly in recycling, upcycling, repurposing and reusing various materials on site. The cool thing about pallets is the ends have precut openings for forklifts that can be removed, sanded and used as a stancion to secure your goat's head.
You are so creative and a master on wood construction. Great carpenter!!!
This made me smile!
Best memories I have with my dad is him taking the time to show me, and let me build things with him.
Now he calls me to come and help him build lol.
good job bro - just the video I needed to see - I have the pallets so will get it made soon - thanks - best wishes from Ireland.....!
Add two ropes at the tail end with a adjustable hoop on each rope to hobbel the hind legs so they can't kick, and spill your milk.
I drilled multiple holes through the frame and movable gate board, then used one of the multitude of "free" Allen wrenches that we've collected over the years from furniture purchased to lock the headgate in place. We drilled a hole in the top of the frame for a quick storage space when it's not in use, too.
You're a smart man thank you . I was looking for an inexpensive goat stand.
Thank you for this video. I like the block wood thing too. That is a simple way to keep the head bar in place.
Teaching kids practical things, we need more of that in this world.. Thanks and peace to ya...
I like the wood block idea to hold the wood in place for their neck not to move instead of buying hardware. I’m going to go try to build this. Thanks!!
You were meant to be a farmer 💪🏻 what a work horse you are👍🏻
Yay I found the video! I like this stand and will try to replicate it for my sheep
GREAT video! Thank you so much! I'd rather use pallets than purchase wood. It's expensive right now! Great job on getting your kids involved!
I marvel at your ingenuity! You are doing very well making it as farmers. God is good!
The part of the pallet where the Fork lift blades go under would make a great head stall
Old jem popped up when thinking about milking my goat as she had 4 kids and refusing to feed one. Watch all your current vids
I'm not too good at building stuff, but this video was well done. Even I built this stand and was happy with the result! lol (George)
Just building mine now and doing some research saw your video, so going to use your great ideas. Thanks
This was an EXCELLENT walkthrough! We've just recently jumped into the world of goats, and I wasn't even sure how a milk stand works, but I'm pretty confident that I can do this. Thanks for sharing!
awesome video. One suggestion, we went to the feed store, got a stall mat and cut to size for the floor. It helps the goats with traction, and is easy to clean up.
Goat cheese and goat milk sells at a premium here in Texas. Also small goats are sold for BBQ meat down here called " cabrito " Delicious meat for sure. Great build on the goat milker stand. Thank you.
We can't sell goat milk here in Michigan, we might be able to sell cheese or other products though, I will have to check into that.
I like the height and the use of recycled materials. The ability to sit next to the stand with your feet and legs under the stand makes it ergonomic for the milker.
I think the head holder should have some neck slots cut and the boards actually be closer together when closed. This would limit the up and down and front to back movement of the head. The bottom of the moving slat would need a small angle cut to allow the slat to open wide for entering and exit.
The width of the platform may prove to be a problem but it can be remedied with a small fence/railing on the side not used for milking to keep the goats close to you while milking. This will make it easier on your back.
Great build project for very little money!
Getting ready to build one with scrap materials and pallets... and I am contemplating using the pallet frame pieces for the neck boards because they have a curve already started. I don't have a jig saw on hand, so I can use the inset to start and saw down to the next one, then give it a good sanding. Hope mind turns out as useful and thanks for the great video.
fantastic tutorial! Now i just need to find some time to get ours done! :)
It was awesome to see you have help today.
Really nice looking milking stand. Can't wait to see the actual milking!! Kayla is getting to be quite the woodworker, learning lots. Great work!!
This is the NEATEST pallet wood goat milking stand that I have seen anyone build. This is what I will try to pattern mine by when we get to that point. Thank you for sharing.
bhharris I agree. I'm going to have to build one of these soon.
I think you did a wonderful job making that. Like you said and you should change the board so it is a little higher than the rest but I guess it all works out. I would have drilled a hole and I would have had a chain mounted there with a large Bolt so I would have had a few different size holes and I could just put the large bolt through the hole to whatever size I needed this way the bolt never gets lost
Just a tip, when you are milking a goat they tend to slip so I suggest placing some sandpaper on the part where their feet go
That's awesome he did all that with pallet wood
Very awesome design. Also love your girls being in the videos. They steal the show.
Marcus Kloepping Kids should be in every video.
Just finished my goat stand and pretty much the same as yours, thanks so much. Cheers
I know this videos is older. But I also think that putting scateboard deck tape on it would help with grip in case any milk spills, so its not slippery
Well done! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
neat idea on the neck lock mechanism. Not quite sure what the silver high heels on the milking stand was but it did make me laugh.
Lol, we are not sure either
real helpful, well explained Thank YOU!!!!
Another great video my man. Thanks
That’s awesome, thank you for the great ideas
Roofing or grit grip on that platform wouldn't hurt. Otherwise stellar build. We're gonna make one using your design this weekend 😉
Great job! Thanks for sharing
Awesome idea! Looks like you are good to go(at).
Jamie Kuntz Lol!
SSL Family Mom I couldn't help myself lol!
Looks great! Just wish you would have included measurements
Very Very good job 👏 👍 👌
Nice work! Very resourceful..
Awesome!! Quite innovative!
this is awesome!!
Looks good.
Great idea
Nice one mate
Install a handle bar style to the top of the wood to grab onto... or a door knob....
Very nice!
I like this better than the goat milking stations you buy and for a handle use one of the handles you got with one of your screwguns or your grinder it will work that's what I do with them cause ya never use them on the tool
Good job man
Nice job on that!
Damned brilliant!!!! Thx
Thank you again
awesome! This will save us 100 plus$
Looking good. Hey I caught you after posting 7 seconds. Lucky number. :-)
Very nice
For the head clamp I would have drilled a series of holes horizontally that a bolt could slide through, then you can adjust it for each goats head size.
I thought about that or making a slot and then a wing nut to tighten it, in the end the block seems pretty simple
dope idea
Insert a dowel rod in the end of the keeper to make it grabable...
Cool
Two years later...is it still in operation??? We bought our first goats yesterday and are just getting started!!!!!
Yes, still ready to milk goats as soon as they deliver this year
Looks functional and the price was right.
my favorite part was the price:)
Nice work 😀
Bees wax is a good lubricant for sliding wood, melt it down and brush it on. They used to use the technique for sill plates before pressure treat. A thin layer, to much and it'll get in the way specially in the winter.
Great idea, I will try that. I have some beeswax!
What about making like a grid in the feeder so the goats have to work a little to eat the feed.
I agree, saves feed, but even better than that is when they have to concentrate to get the feed, they are less likely to be bothered by the milking. In other words less kicking.
Hey man. Great video. What size are the thin wood pieces ,off the old pallet you use ? Making my list!😁
You did a great job building the goat milking station stand but like you said Chance the head board longer to lock the neck in . but you forgot one more thing what if the goat kicks while you are milking her you need something to hold her legs bàck.
Maybe a washer between the wood and the stantion. And definitely put some rope on the wooden plug.... save it from being lost or used as a toy
Great idea!
If I was to start over, I'd milk goats, make and sell goat cheese. Hard to fine good goat cheese. Teagards...
How tall are your stool legs?
How are the bees?
i think its grk screws
linoleum ?
sand it
Bath Towel on the Goat..... LOL....
Old broken screw driver into the top of the Neck Board Adjusters...
ok....time to go cave man on my pallets hanging out side....
First....
Have you milked goats before? You don't milk them the same as cows. I love milking goats much easier.
