I'll see if can give enough explanation in a comment, if not there's tons of videos on YT. Basically you grip the collar behind the neck the same way you would a baseball bat only that the neck is between the hands. Then as your body goes 180 degrees so that your feet is in the opposite direction of the opponent's feet, your forearms naturally crisscross creating a scissor action on the neck, cutting off the blood supply.

Baseball choke…I googled let’s break this down
Blue Guy flips Green guy over
Green Guy has ahold of Blue Guys shirt collar (🥋Gi) with each hand on opposing sides of the Blue Guys neck. (Left hand right side of neck Right hand left side of neck)
With Green Guy turning around while still tightly holding the collars of Blue Guy. Green Guys wrists then cross across the throat of Blue Guy applying pressure to the airway.

No. Mosty correct but the pressure is applied to the arteries in the neck. Blood choke, not wind choke.
Thats a cross collar choke, baseball choke is same hands on same lapel. (IE. RIght hand on right side of neck)
The reason this works so well is because is because the aggressor (Blue on top) is pushing for a position that would normally be advantageous
He cleared the legs, hes in side control and trying to move to the back
Unfortunately, the further the Top moves into a good position, the tigher the choke becomes

This is actually pretty impressive for two white belts. That throw was smooth as f×ck! Absolutely beautiful. And catching that submission was equally as smooth. Very sneaky..very well executed..he didn't even realize he was in trouble until the blackness was already closing in. These two guys both have alot of talent, and I hope they stay with it! Well done guys!

Have you ever seen a cat fight? Or finish off prey once they get front claws in it? (My cat would also do this when we had play fights, but the sweetheart kept her claws in, just used soft paws): when you close in, they'll often flop down to the ground on their side, with their belly toward you. But don't think they're vulnerable. The tactic is that they'll use their front claws to grab the upper part of their target's body, and pull them in to bite the head and neck, while simultaneously kicking and clawing the target's innards out with their back feet. Very efficient. They go down, but it's so they can free up ALL their weapons at once. My cat would fall, grab my wrist with her front paws, play-bite at both sides of my hand, and "gut" my forearm with her hind feet. Classic. Then she'd POP! to her feet, and coolly strut a little: "Yeah! WHO'S bad 'round HEAH? Uh-HUH! I GOT sump'n f'YOU! C'mon heah an' get it, nah!"
That's one place my training was lacking. I never learned how to fight on the ground. Closest I ever got was to drop into a low squat on one leg and my hands, while extending my other leg out as far as I could, and used it to sweep in a wide arc, looking to take both my opponent's feet out from under him, from his back to his front. In sparring, we only went for the front leg. But in a real fight, the idea was to send his feet flying forward and up, so he'd fall hard on his back, or better, on his shoulders, neck, and back of the head for a knockout.

@@sledgenwedge yep, the green guy grabbed the blue guys collar. Grab material like a baseball bat, with the neck in between the forearms, and start twisting.
It's a bit of a cheat because most people don't wear gee, I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong. It would not work with a tie or a tee shirt
@@franciscomarquez9845 I respectfully disagree. In theory you can do it with a jacket, or grab enough tshirt material. The material only serves as a handle for the hands to grab on, all the work is being done by applying force to the neck by the blades of the forearm. Cheers 🍻

Reading your opponent, figuring out what's on his mind, is as much a fighting skill as the moves themselves.
Many moons ago, when I was a blue belt in Tang Soo Do, our instructor put me in the middle of a "circle of death". Basically, I had 3 opponents. They were all equal or lower belts to me. The least experienced got behind me. He saw me watching him over my shoulder a couple of times, and was hesitant. But I'd seen him spar at least a dozen times. So I quit watching him, and started a countdown in my head while I concentrated on the bigger "threats" in front of me. When it felt right, I threw a blind back kick right to his midsection. The Instructor yelled, "You're out, Eric!", leaving me to "fight" the other two. I didn't win, but I did get Eric off of me! 😁

I've been strangled unconscious by a baseball bat choke before too, they never feel like much initially but the more you move around the tighter it gets. It also feels like youre winning because the person doing the choke is giving up position, which makes it deceivingly effective

He interfered less than one second after the blue guy went limp. The feinting phase of any fight is usually not super interesting to watch, especially when most of what is going on is grappling.

@@Mike-ul7of A couple throws, a sweep, a reap and good defense. If a white belt stays very basic but does the few things he/she can do flawlessly, they can have some success.

Always have to be careful and respect the baseball choke. But the way he was able to hold it after having his back taken is pretty impressive. I would really like to feel that variant as usually it comes from allowing a guard pass and your legs or twisting back is enough to safely block it (usually giving up the passing points to return to neutral until I am 100% safe again). Fun stuff.

@@teeanahera8949 Yes when I was doing judo competitions I was sometimes given a belt to wear by the referee. Sometimes I even kept my normal belt and put the other one on top.
