- This is a truly great idea in a pilothouse concept. The Nautilus 36 combines the underbody of a C&C 37 for swift passages, a functional cockpit and a great interior for "wet gear less" offshore cruising.
It's easy to see over the pilothouse for average height sailors for day sailing plus accommodating six of your friends in comfort. Inside the Nautilus features two swivel seats to navigate & pilot from, plus two quarter berths in main cabin.
Two steps down to port she has a convertible dinette and an efficient galley. Forward is a good sized head and a large V berth.
Her engine is the larger Perkins 50hp and her sail inventory includes new mainsail and 120% jib plus two spinnakers in case one contemplates the occasional club or offshore race.
This Nautilus 36 received an extensive refit starting in 2018 and has only been sailed occasionally since relaunch in 2021. New sails, electronics, interior cushions and redone wood work, deck paint, batteries, headsail furling, new windows and ports/hatches plus more.

Very handsome boat, a timeless blend of form and function.
I actually laughed, out loud, about half-way through, because that boat is so beautiful.
Wow!
To me it looks like the perfect boat!
Oh someone lucky, or should I say fortunate, will own that ship, very, very, cool.
Nice walk through of a gorgeous pocket cruiser. Thank you!
Thanks for making this video…and all the others too. You are making something really useful and special.
Just found your channel, but this is exactly the content I needed, keep it up!
Welcome aboard!
Great boat very practical temperate climate sailing or exploring. Lovely condition inside and out.
I really really hope this boat or another will be yours one day soon or later...you deserve it..and i relly hope so !
I think pilot house is the right way to go. Colvic Victor 40' are very good value for money. It can be had for less than £40,000. It's ketch and centre cockpit. Plenty of space. The thing is each boat has a different internal arrangement, (they were built to particular owner's specifications), so you can find exactly the kind of layout that you're looking for, if you're lucky.
Dang you look great with the haircut. Love the pilot house.
Thank s for our afford!
Im locking for a fast low drift Fessel can bring me everywhere! Solo
I've been looking at that boat for years
Definitely a lot of boat for the price and usable. Sailing Uma has done 9 years of full time cruising now on a 28 feet fixer upper, so, in comparison, this would be palatial. It still only got one double berth though and I am a white Dane, who sunburn easily. One day in that cockpit, never able to escape the weather and sun, I would be stuck indoors for a week with sunburns. At least I would need to splash out on some covering of that cockpit of a sort, if I went with a boat like this. Look at Yachtall and especially boats in the Netherlands however, if you do like this kind of boat, where a lot of these type of boats are for sail at reasonable prices.
Uma is a 36 foot Pearson 365
@@blobzilla69 Comfortable? A couple with already two kids? Get real, man! Where would you put your children in a boat like that? They would have no private space, but left to sleep in open pilot berths, that in all conditions. Imagine that on a rough passage one day. Your first language is not English? Mine is not, but I do know, what palatial means, and if you do not, look it up! It is a common used word, for crying out loud!
@@John-Nada That actually only makes my point even stronger: They can not even have guests onboard for longer stays!
Love it. And at a super reasonable price.
Is this boat n fresh water? Must be, what a beauty!
No description seen on my phone. How much
Not a C&C hull. Designed by Henry Adriaanse. Also a 40' variant with the same lines. A customer of mine sailed his 40 from Halifax to Vancouver the long way. That was a seriously well-built boat.
The question is complicated. Henrik Adriaanse was a junior designer in the Cuthbertson and Cassion architecture firm which combined with several nearby Canadian builders to form C&C. The lines of the Nautilus 36 are clearly an adaptation of the C&C 37 which Adriaanse helped draw in 1977. He left C&C during a downturn to join Art Epp, a builder in Niagara-on-the-Lake to form Aztec Nautic which built the Nautilus 36. Art is now deceased, but left behind this enthusiastic set of blog posts: nautilus-36-pilothouse.blogspot.com/
The greatest change from the C&C to my eye is a widening of the transom and reversing its angle to have a small overhang. I reckon these changes give up speed in favor of greater interior volume and load carrying capacity aft.
(George Hinterhoeller, an established builder who joined Cuthbertson and others to form C&C also used the Nautilus name for his boats when he went back into business after leaving C&C which makes all this confusing for sure.)
People are asking way too much $$ money$ in today's economy..this boat 40k on a good day
at 0:47 the little one on the top of the screen. white hull, blue bottom. can you do a vid on that please??
Noticed sail inventory included spinnakers yet there are no secondary winches. Interesting.
I’ve seen that before on a smaller Tripp boat. The sheet actually went through the cockpit to the winch on the opposite side. It was set up for racing so it made decent sense, but doesn’t make much sense for this boat.
That is a lovely boat
That is an amazing boat
Thousands of spade rudder boats have circumnavigated. I prefer skeg hung too. But, would not relegate a boat to costal just because of a spade rudder. Yeah, nice boat for its size. Would have to look further into engine access.
The narrator would be far more credible if he didn't identify the two quarter berths as "cubbies". He also commented that she might be slow -- her SAD of 17.1 is more than that of the Swan 57 on which we circumnavigated. Whether it is true or not, the presentation of having just stepped aboard is not helpful. It would better if the narrator had actually read the listing so he had a better idea of what he was talking about. About all I can that is good is that a video is very helpful in understanding a boat, even when the broker has done a good job of it, as he has here.
Wow. His title is "learning the lines". Not "I'm a know it all".. btw not 1/4 births.. maybe an 1/8 birth. Lol.. prob only used in bad weather rarely and doubt nightly. A 1/4 birth can be nightly comfortably.. by most humans..
This guy doesn't have much experience with boats. He's kind of learning as he goes. I'll bet anything he calls fenders bumpers lol
Thanks!
Holy moly❣️
Nice boat for the money
Small less water aboard if swamped
This boat needs a second cabin. Where would you put the kids.
We’re can I find the price and spec
Need a pilot house. Steal hull. World expedition boat 45' 50'
Your channel is now 6, 7 years old, didn't you learn enough about lines? Do you plan to sail?
Nice condition down below, but pilothouses don't generally do it for me...
Well it looks like if you pull out the stairs behind the engine you will get more access to engine. We're you afraid to show or what?
Hope you have dodged the smoke from the fires ....
Beautifol boat; !!!
Hey has room to Sun bath
Do you lie down while on watch? Danger Will Robinson!
So you want us "viewers" to buy it for you and Randi!
Love guys you jordie most lets see your baby som ti.e
Rudder is a liability as a cruiser
Looks vulnerable with no protection against collisions or those pesky Biscay orcas
Lost one once.....
As someone who loves the water but can’t take sun any more I like the huge pilot house. A Bimini over the open deck 1:42 to the rear would complete accommodating this old man.
This boat has so many little touches like the worked hand holds in the cabin. I don’t see a usage blemish anywhere. This level of care should mean the engine is well kept. Pretty for sure.
What was the price?
Why don't u give the price
Also give info for the beginner I never owned a sail boat in the market
I would have to get rid of those through the deck chain plates that would drive me crazy I would move the chain plates out board on the outside of the hull
I have a 37 footer with the engine below the sole. I do my own maintenance and I really wish it wasn’t.
That price seems extremely reasonable for what appears to be a pretty well kept boat for its age,If anyone is looking for a great boat at a great price your video should seal the deal.
that type of keel is a no/no. you get stranded somewhere and the tide goes out, you are in a world of trouble. The visibility from the helm is compromised because of that cabin.
Nice overnight day cruiser with plenty of scope to personify
You crazy Collinet's! It looks sturdy & capable
Very clean boat, Put a wind vane for rudder redundancy and should be good to go,
Clean example, spotless.
Sweet boat!
So no round vents in the windows in this one... bummer..
The sarcasm is strong with this one!
Nice boat. My only comment is that the prop is waay forward of the rudder so don't expect snappy performance under power
7kn speed according to sailboatdata.
Where is this boat? For sale?
Great boat for colder climates.
I see 4 bed for up to 6 people...
A steal hull like it ?
Sweet boat.
Need one now to ,if trump or any of his type gets in office again. Have to leave the USA
