I know one guy who makes approx 8Lacs a month while doing government job so he earns goverment pay, bribes on job, do some business or job total 7 to 8Ls. He has taken falt on hard cash downpayment. Actually the hard hit citizen of india are white collar people who rub their asses to get degree and then spent 10 12 hours on job to get 5 10 20L ctc subjext to tax and even work on weekends and unrealistic targets. Goverment dont pay any attention to businesses, agent, farmers etc but its always private workers who are gangra*** by everyone
He was talking about those uneducated/ class 8th/10th passed people. A huge portion of our country is still uneducated and it was for them, not for those students who are studying now.
Option 1: Listen to your Father and get degrees. PERHAPS you will earn more money. PERHAPS you may become your own boss one day. PERHAPS with the accountant's help you will pay lesser taxes. PERHAPS you will spend quality time with your kids & family. Option 2: Don't listen to your Father. Help your Mother in Kitchen and learn culinary skills. DEFINITELY you will earn more money. DEFINITELY you will become your own boss one day. DEFINITELY you will pay zero taxes (as it is mostly a cash based business). DEFINITELY you will spend quality time with your kids & family. Now I understand, why the hierarchy of respect is - Mother, Father, Guru & God.
How the fuck will you spend time with your kids and family when all the time you are at the stall or at home preparing for the stall? Do you think with your mind? That definitely doesn't works for everyone. Not every dosa-maker street vendor earns 1.5 lacs a month. And this guys works his ass off probably to make that much money. It's easy to say "Learn culinary skills and you would definitely get a job". Listen to your father. A degree will bring you less money probably but you would have peace of mind and education. This guy doesn't have a degree but he works his ass of equivalently. Your father stresses on degrees because he loves you and doesn't want you to see working as a daily wage worker. This guy is also a daily wage worker but his daily wage is better. But you never know when this business could be disrupted. A degree won't snatch your working area from you. If it does then you probably don't deserve a degree.

For people saying I'll do this after engineering, I like your sense of humour. But for people who feel he is earning so much more than us, you can see the struggle in that. Having a white collar job and getting salary is way different from what he is doing. He might have gone through so many hardships and you can see he is still working so hard. Facing all those municipal officers and bribes on a daily basis. A single day if he shuts because of sick, he losses a big chunk of his revenue and most importantly customers. Unlike us who have sick leaves, weekends and paid leaves.
Remember one thing these people don't know how tp make it more big but if a engineering or i say educated person is gonna do it then definitely it will be a startup and he definitely find a way and make it big and more profitable then there will be a day when he will be a owner of 4 5 shops and thats it you are end up here seted up good food business with big profit and now its up to you if you wanna pull it more further or you are just satisfied here.
This is not business, its an illegal business. Had this been a proper restaurant then you would need to factor rental costs which itself would had eaten entire profits. Also licenses and compliance. So this is like smuggling, make money without rules.
Hence the bribery. His customers are ok with the service, standing outdoors and they are not bothered by the hygiene standards. As long as people want to buy he will keep selling. He doesn't need a fancy restaurant to attract customers, just tasty food.

As per your calculation..and after giving to police also..he is earning above 2 lakhs per month.. He said 5000 expense per day..means 150000 monthly U said sale of items multiply by cost is equal to sale of 24,500 per day..which is 720000 monthly.. Let's assume as per seller..business is good for 3 days..and not good for 3 days..and we exclude 1 day totally.. Then also by half of 720000 is 360000 And we can downsize it to 350000 for Police wale chakka (a wheel which makes your business run) Now profit is total sale minus total expense..which is 350000 - 150000 = 200000 So he is making around 24 lakhs yearly.. So we pay taxes so that people like Anna can continue to earn tax free income year on year....and perhaps enjoy all govt benefits side by side...
This is the truth everywhere. Salaried people, including bank employees and government workers, pay taxes. Most business owners and employees, and self employed people evade taxes.
GST forced many business to pay taxes which they were previously not paying and enjoying the cheaper prices ,then suddenly comes GST and smaller businesses couldn't compete with others due to raised price . I Dont know whom to blame. Plus such kind of local vendors pay bribes to police ( which is obivously lot cheaper than the actual taxes thats why they do it ) and many also enjoy BPL previledges n other schemes.

Yes bro these not so educated small vendors earn easily 1.5L to 2L monthly. They think we white collers earn 5L monthly but fact is despite with f** master degrees and with 10yrs experience its still 10L ctc yearly and subject to taxes. The samosa vendors earn 3Ls monthly in hard cash. The government employee hardly work and hardly found on job are doing some job or business and earn money in Lacs.
Modi is brilliant. Everybody will be earning 3L per month if we listen to him.
Why waste time in Quantum Physics, Cryogenics and Tejas and DRDO ?
Go ahead and do it then, Moron.

Exactly. Even Modi was selling tea. I guess it's time to throw my double degrees and keep a pakoda shop.
He was talking about those uneducated/ class 8th/10th passed people. A huge portion of our country is still uneducated and it was for them, not for those students who are studying now.

Imagine this guy hiring a CA to do his taxes.!!..hahahaha...hard work combined with ingenuity always makes a mark in India..
Mariyappan - "Mari" means Rain🌧️
namma mozhi
As per my calculations he has earned appx 6.75 crores. No pain no gain, this line is apt for mariyappan.
Dhanesh Nair in the beginning he only made a fraction of those numbers.
Now I understand, why the hierarchy of respect is - Mother, Father, Guru & God.
bala I never listened to my father, I used to make rotis with my mother when I was small kid. Now I own an Food FMCG company!
@@gspkmr wow !! That's sounds great .
Congrats !!👍👍
@sandesh thank you !
If it does then you probably don't deserve a degree.

profit could be more as he didn't disclose everything honestly. On top of that most of the vendors use ration rice which is very cheap so ultra high profits.

Also we can only wonder how badly the pandemic has affected his business. This is not a stable form of income, unlike white collar jobs.
This made me think, why am i even studying, if the society only respects people who have got money 🙁😞😞
Imandar banda hai. Ekdum style se baat karta hai Aanna 😋

@@TheHybridlogic totally agree. Just saying its nothing surprising he earns that well. What gets shown is one side of the coin. People think lets do that instead of studying but its difficult to follow the right path and achieve v/s working on foot'path' and achieving

There is a dosa stall in Pune..they sell set dosa in leaf plates and use leaf cups for 2 chutneys and sambar too..
Dosa are just 30 a plate..3 set dosa.
That stall is always crowded..we have to wait for 5-10 min to get second round of dosas.
Missing that😭
Mariappan love from tamilnadu ❤️💕❤️
Video is great, but just an addition..... I don't know what the ingredients cost and miscellaneous would be but this is huge now.
Food trucks are booming in India. And the best part about them is they can bud any where at any time.
Making a brand of their own. Wow.
They also mentioned a 5k/wk bribe .
Content is brilliant but I really liked the way video was shot and presented.. Looks like a very smart team is behind these videos. Kudos guys.
Where did the spices expense go and the plates and the extensive hard work these guys put not so convinient as it looks here.
People commenting on his profit are not looking at the hard work he puts in and the fear of loosing his place/business any day. If he opens at 8 AM he must have started working from 5-6 itself.
One of the Hardworking Tamizhan spotted!!

Bravo! Live long scroll.in.
Mariappan ... He is a Tamil guy doing business in mumbai. Nice... Will visit the road side shop when I travel to Mumbai
You screwed his life now everyone will expect more bribe and this place will be allocated to someone politically powerful way to go
Finding a suitable business place is also a crucial part for that success.
As per your calculation..and after giving to police also..he is earning above 2 lakhs per month..
He said 5000 expense per day..means 150000 monthly
U said sale of items multiply by cost is equal to sale of 24,500 per day..which is 720000 monthly..
Let's assume as per seller..business is good for 3 days..and not good for 3 days..and we exclude 1 day totally..
Then also by half of 720000 is 360000
And we can downsize it to 350000 for Police wale chakka (a wheel which makes your business run)
Now profit is total sale minus total expense..which is 350000 - 150000 = 200000
So he is making around 24 lakhs yearly..
Which is more then salary of a Service Delivery Manager and almost 3 times salary of a Manager of companies like HCL, IBM, TCS , Accenture etcetera etcetera...
So I think now it's high time...I must also open Pakoda becho types..
Bcoz Ram ka naam lene se job toh kya..bheek bhi nahi milti

While calculating everything and found my self in Mumbai he earning atleast 2k to 2.5k per day it means he earning 60k to 80k per month.
Well he also mention that he spent bribe means 20k for months
Instead we can invest money into rent.
But hopefully there is something way to earn money more than any graduate holder salary.
Hope after graduation every degree holder start there own business.
No! I won't share this video because if Arun Jaitley comes to know about this he'll tax all the street vendors
What's bad about someone who earns 1.3 lakh a month paying taxes?
Mait shut up
Yeah , for past 70 years we never paid taxes. Now it's painful for us if someone asks us to pay taxes. Aren't u shameful ? Out of 130 crores population only few lakhs are paying taxes. And you all complain that India is underdeveloped. That's what British wanted. Instructed Ney.hroo to not collect any taxes and thus India will be an underdeveloped poor nation.
Perhaps Nirmala sitharaman should see this video and TAX THESE PROPLE? don't see any reason not to?
Appreciating his hardwork........ At the same time income tax officers and GST officers will also appreciate 🤑
There was a lot controversy when our PM said a pakoda seller is self employed. Opposition leaders created much hyped drama on this in the parliament. They must come and ask this guy about job. He would probably laugh at them and tell them about his monthly income. No job in India gonna pay him like this figure if it is believed that he is saying the truth, I hope he is. Pappu should learn from him. Kam se kam dosa khaa ke jaaye gaa aurr kyaa pataa sayad akal bhi aa jaaye.
Thank you for doing business in india
Here's subsidies for you
1. Let your income be more then 12 laks a year you don't need to pay a single penny as a tax
2. no need to pay rent for stall
3 . If bmc takes away your stall just do a bit drama for sympathy
Ideally he should pay tax

Great and congratulations to Anna 🎉 however makes me wonder why do salaried taxpayers always have to contribute to the Indian economy by paying taxes year on year?

Somewhat doubt the numbers... If people earn 15 to 20L pa , all cash, you won't find construction laborers, they'll all become food hawkers...
Bhavin Tolia not everyone has the skill and luck to have loyal customer.
Easy to get a construction job. Out of all businesses only 1% become successful. Others result in loss of investment. You can't expect construction workers to be able to take that risk.
They have taken really popular stalls in with good conditions. Majority don't even earn a fraction of it.

It all depends on taste of your food and service( yes service). I know guys who really earn this much or even higher per month by selling these fast foods. Taste is the essential ingredient for their success. And also price. I mean where will you find a tasty dosa for Rs.30-40 in Bombay. So. Yeah his income is believe able.
Daily economics is a nice concept … would love to watch more of such videos…

Now show his ITR's lol, Nil tax!
I am quite ignorant about taxes as my dad is in defence so it gets deducted on its own from his salary. Can you enlighten me what a civilian is supposed to do? Are they supposed to pay the taxes themselves and if it is not that strict to do so, why do we still have income tax?
He pays ..50% of his profits to staff. It trickles down to society. He pays bribe multiple govt departments. Corporates usually pay less than 2% of total profits to stff. Wake up.
@@yagesh287 its civilians, army mens and everyones above 18 yearsbof age itsbyheir duty to file income tax returns every year. Even if tax is deducted in salary and no other income..then also all have to file tax every year. Thats the only duty

The municipal authorities just vanish them from road sides...which results into losses for such vendors.. Why can't they just provide such vendors space...where they can carry their business without any hassle...Even Foreign Countries have street food space..then why can't we Indian have the same? I don't understand...why aren't our govts. helping them by giving materials at subsidised rates? If they do so, the citizens will get good quality food at cheap rate and this would ultimately result into these vendors' prosperity🙃
Govt won't do , because they r not paying taxes till date.
Excellent video!! Thanks Mariappan Sir & Scroll.in team :) :)

It is clear here that he is not charged any tax on his income this way. Though he falls in the highest income bracket. The hotels pass on whatever tax they are charged directly to the customer. He provides a much required service, though, affordable meals. And this ins nly possible because he pays that weekly bribe of 5000 to keep his space. Speaks volumes about local govt corruption. Good work, @scroll.
