God bless him with ever more success. People like him deserve it who did everything from scratch. It is easy to inherit business from your fathers or fore fathers, but coming from Rs 10 a day to here - Mind blowing. Saw a video where it says a Tree always grows 2 ways. 1 under the soil which no one can see and above the ground that everyone sees. but the real effort, the action is what goes under the soil. the roots breaking thru the soil, holding on to the soil, sucking up the minerals and nutrition to feed the tree that ultimately shows its glory above the soil. some trees even take years to bear fruits, but it is the root system that helps hold it and works incessantly to still keep feeding the tree. The root system is the Values, the effort, the mind and the patience of the business that ultimately shows the results. if the root system is strong , the tree will thrive without a doubt. God bless you Mustafa.
Wow !! A true self made entrepreneur. Many congratulations. By the way, I love the Malabar parota which I enjoyed today, and then I saw this interview. More power to you. And thank you Kamya. More power to you too.
yes, and they fixed it over time. the early parotas weren't the best especially wheat ones as they turned crispy like papadam . But recently that is not the case and the parotas are softer. Good RnD.
Isn't it enough that rich have majority of the money pooled in among themselves. And now taking away the livelihood of small scale vendors. These IIM graduates are not taught to create business, they are taught to monopolise a certain market, and create more riches with more pooled in money. Once we actually lose this large distributed system of idli sellers or small scale vendors, there is no other way to get it back if ID or such monopolised companies fail to perform.
That's how market and consumer preferences evolve, If small vendors can't cater to the quality that consumers want, they'll shift to alternatives. The more value you deliver, people will pay
I recieved overtly fermented batter in a row. So many bubbles and smell that it felt like its spoilt. And i stopped id. Besides they didn't say they don't use preservatives, they are trying to avoid it. My mom's idli batter can never be compared with packaging. It can never sealed. It's the open oxygen with a partial lid, that allows the batter to naturally ferment. And just when it's ready we use it with some baking soda added or store it, not more than a day. Id tastes bland to me. It will only kick off for some days, becoz of the packaging etc. In the long run..everyone will be tired of it. I didn't like the taste of a single product..medhu Vada or idli or parathas. All are surely packaged items. Parathas gave me acidity and gas. Home made is home made. Always.
No matter how much business will try to replicate, they can never create the same experience. And yes..in Andhra toh majority will not use it. The quality of tirupati, chittor idlis is incomparable and I still bless the lady who used to sell hot idlis and tasty chutney in my galli for 10rs during my college days. Becoz of its natural benefits, even doctors recommend it as a light breakfast for patients. I don't think even a single doctor in tirupati or around will recommend such packaged batter made idli to patients. Andhra, especially chittoor tirupati kids have fondest memories becoz of the taste our homemade idlis have. Especially my dad, 60years and still eats his sister-in-law dosas like a child. It's becoz they stone grind, use firewood, iron tawa, and under and surrounded by the trees where the natural oxygen gives it a taste that lasts in memories for years. And for North Indians..who are so fond of this type of packaged idli batter. I just have to say one thing...they are being fooled. Just like Delhi ke aloo ke Paratha, or Kerala ke lucha paratha cannot be replicated, so is south indians idlis or dosas.
Thank You ID for making our lives easier. I lost count of times, i did not keep well and we would hav this fluffy dosas with pickle or sugar. Though one suggestion, please make 500 gms pouch also. It will be nice if you come up with the ID Aloo sabji too
i am confused is it show case of this entrepreneur or that suv u are driving? The same strategy of surrogate advertisement of vijay mallya of pushing kingfisher calendar or water when in reality it was for the liquor 🤣
Such a beautiful story and inspiring podcast ! He’s a true pride of India and it should motivate every Indian that nothing is impossible ❤ also thank you for the lovely home made dosas my family and myself consume at home. Makes me feel like a proud ID customer 😊
Now pahle jaisa quality nahi hai they should focus on that all sald and done matunga ka .ahalaksh.i stores ka atta is better than tbis swit hed ovet to that we ha e to go to that store to get it
