I have to admit that when I started this project I had no idea how much work it was going to be…since making the track back in 2016 I brought in the backhoe to expand it, I’ve installed a barrier with old tires, and I’ve dumped several loads fill. Here’s the original track construction video: ruclips.net/video/PVLXisM2b54/видео.html
Hey Jason! Can you say RC PARADISE!! Soooo awesomely beautiful! Fantastic work! You’ve put a ton of work into the track and it shows! So cool I can’t say it enough absolutely awesome!
Yeah it's luck and living down here in Ecuador where land is cheap. I bought 20 acres in this area for about what you'de pay for a nice SUV in the US 😄
Holy heavens above, what's NOT TO LIKE! I freaking love it, a 300 meter race track in you're back yard, awesome I just wanna go for a look around and not race, the scenery is amazing, to die for. Oh man, you're sooooo feckin lucky to live there and have it all. The bigger track is so much better. I'm well jell now. 😀 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks a lot David! It was a super fun project but also a ton of work. If you do it, plan for drainage, water run off is probably the most important thing because it WILL get wrecked in the wintertime!
Hei...i remember that one..nice to see again...you got some amazing footage with that onboard camera...will go back and watch again your videos fore sure..
Nice track man! I am building a track of my own at my house and I am wondering how you keep yours groomed? Mainly curious how you are keeping the grass from growing on it.
Thanks a lot for that, really appreciate it! The only way to keep grass from growing in the lanes is to use weed killer. I don't really like to use nasty chemicals but I've got a big tank and I can do the whole thing in a few hours, 2 or 3 times per year. The other alternative is to jut the grass short, a different length than the infield.
That's a good idea, but then you would get soooo dizzy. Seriously, I've tried it! The best setup for an RC track I think is a gentle slope, that way you can see the cars from a distance. Thanks for watching hope you stick around (haven't uploaded in a while but I'm about to change that 🤘)
I used a ton of land just because I had it available on a rural farm. If you are considering a project like this, my advice is to chose scale (i.e, 1/10 or 1/12 if you don't have a tone of space) and layout according to how much space you have and don't forget about how much maintenance it will take once it starts raining and the weeds start to grow... Good luck
Hey Juan, not too much because I already owned the land and I had already hired the machinery to do other work on the farm. Mostly it cost time and sweat 😂
You got that right, it's all about drainage! I've learned the hardway to make sure you have some sort of grade and to build your ramps parallel, not perpendicular to the natural flow of water....

The birds! Awesome Jason. It's a huge area you've got to work with. Great video and tips. You've got the right tools and material to do it right
Super cool. Building a track in my half acre back yard right now. Thanks for the tips. My lot is totally flat so I have a lot of work ahead of me.

very awesome. and great insight... can you post a shot of the track layout with approximate lengths of each section?
Lucky for some having an entire countryside as your garden Lol
