- Just finished this winter project. Track is all wood. High banks are 8’ and 12’ radius - sand added to paint for extra grip. Banking goes to 90 degrees!
Micro b on this track would be crazy cool
Now that that new losi micro b is out I bet this track would be perfect for it
I can hear it now, you can build that but you can't re-tile the kitchen! Nice work dude. Looks fun!
🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Huh
Me all the time
Yup some Kyosho Mini Z or even the old Losi Micro-T (1/36) would be fun. Neat track
By far the best basement course I've seen. I'd like to watch some more racing footage on this track.
Thanks, we put a lot of work into it. Covid has stopped us from running on it last year, we hope to get some running/racing videos on it later this year. We’ll be adding some jumps too hopefully.
Can see it now.. booze flowin, trash talkin, beatin and banging, dollars exchanging. Count me in
Your my kind of dude. Building one as I type. Basement floor is 30ft by 8ft > Got a bunch of tips here, and I thank you for it Brother! Cheers from deeep in the Mtns of NY.
That would be perfect for Mini-z. The blue truck looks a bit oversized for the track. Track itself is beautiful.
That's an amazing design. Looks like it just needs to be slightly bigger
Wow, nice work. That is a lot of work. You would make a good boat builder...lol. Cheers.
Looks stunning. Great worK!
Thank you!
I bet mini z buggies are blast on this track. Nice work buddy 👍
best track I've seen well done
You did a far better job handling those turns than I could have. I’d need a esc with reverse. Nice work.
Thanks! I’ve run a lot of laps on the track and thankfully I’ve got reverse too!
this reminds me of a Charlotte Roval race track. amazing work!
nice job Jon & scotty
Im amazed and admire your craftmanship. Thank you for sharing.
Nice! Bummer if you get bored and wanna change it up though..
That’s really cool, you should totally race 1/28th scale cars in there!
Insanely overbuilt... Every track I built indoor and out I quickly bore with so the ability to change is important. For banks I cut out the templates/ shape with plywood which could be spaced far apart seeing they are not load bearing and then used thin sheets bent to form and secured. To change simply move them. Painted pool noodles which can be bent to taste again allow ability to easily change.
Awesome creation 😎🤘thank you so much for sharing 👍
Thanks Tom!
That's one sweet track.
Imagine playing Mario Kart Live Home Circuit on a Track like this. That would be amazing.
Emax interceptors!! They are 2wd.. but FPV as well!! It could really be like Mario Kart then!
카트라이더 리볼트 있습니다 vs 마리오카트 않습니다
Seems like it needs slightly smaller scale cars and perhaps a small tabletop in the midsection or some sort of elevation change obstacle? Even a bridge going over the long straight would be cool and give it a nice scale feel. Nice layout and build!
Nice driving
Starting mine! I finally got a big house with a huge 2nd story unfinished no load bearing walls! :F
That course is amazing!
This would def be perfect for some Kyosho MiniZ Buggies and the Carisma GT24B.
Hope youre having fun with that!
I think the mini z or micro t would be more fun on here. Or an rally car that could hit the sides and not catch a tire, like the latrax rally. Really cool though!
we put tire glue on the tire sidewalls so they dont catch on the track walls - it made a big big difference
we run 1/18 and 1/24 scale vehicles on the track
Excellent job! That's a real nice indoor track. I am so glad you didn't carpet it.
Thank you! We never considered carpet but we did add sand to the paint for extra grip in all corners and on the high banks.
Cooool! I'm gonna have to make one for me!! Looks very nice
Congratulations on the effort of putting together the track.
I see that it was very laborious to assemble the part of the elevated curves and they are not used as well, perhaps less height to be able to take it at full speed, otherwise I do not see that it is optimal to use it over the flat internal part of the curve.
we can easily hit the high banks at full speed and reach the top of them if we want to. the driving part of the video was from the first few laps ever run on the track. the high banks are also much faster than the flat parts of the curves.
Wow man incredible work. Congrats
Wow, good use of lockdown time 👍👍
Not good use of money 👍🏼👍🏼
Fantastic job brother
Thanks Dustin!
Why don't you have more subs? Its cool what you made!
That's awesome. To race multi car go down in size. Just seen some smaller racer cars perfect fit for that
Thanks for the comment Steve. We race multiple cars on this track, 1/18 and 1/24 scale. Once you get the feel for the track it’s very possible to pass in many places with either scale but it is easier with the smaller scale(s).
Pro Build. Nice work
Thank you!
Seems a smaller drift car wpukd be way funner for your track? Have you heard of those little 50 dollar drift cars? They are fun as hell
We run a couple different scale vehicles on the track. I’m not familiar with the cars you mentioned. There is sand (grip) in the paint on the track surface so I’m not sure a drift car would be the way to go. Either way, thanks for your input.
Frickin' beautiful track bruh!!!! 👍💯
Thank you!!!
This is incredible... amazing job!
thank you
Awesome job, that puts my outdoor track to shame!
Great job, looks awesome
Thank you!
Nice work I love the track!🤙
Thank you!!
Amazing! What a great use of space, got so much in that space. Epic well done.
Thank you! We spent a lot of time on the design to maximize the space and work around the pole and sump pump.
@@jonludwig you are very welcome. Yeah it's a flawless design and really challenging. I've subscribed mate all the best look forward to more videos. Cheers
Nicely done!!! Even if you had no friends into R/C racing, I'm sure you will now . . . likely far too many since four years ago.
This gives me hope that I can come up with something good for the space I have at my shop (it's 20' x 40'). That track has some seriously tight corners, but yeah, looks like fun.
this track is 12’x28’ - yes, it has some tight corners but they keep you on your toes - we think its a great combination of not too tricky but definitely not boring.
What materials are you using? I am guessing it's MDF panels for the floor surface? What thickness did you go with? How's the traction?
Bill Kugler I think it was 5/8 ply on floor - traction is great, we added sand in the paint in corners and high banks
rad. im def not good enough for a track that wide though id be stuck to a wall probably the whole way
Great track build. It would be cool if it had a large bank at each end to do some top speed oval racing then drop in one dividing wall so it uses the infield as well but its your track and is amazing as it is.
Thanks! I totally agree on an oval with the high banks. It would be awesome and very high speed but would probably produce some expensive accidents too.
@@jonludwig very true.
I have a mini z chassis that is almost snapped in half just from bouncing off the skirting boards.
Wow that was amazing control on car
Sweet! Haven't gotten into racing, this gives me hope!
Looks like a great little track
There’s a lot of skill there
Need to put some Carisma GT24-B's on there and let em rip; have room for passing with 1/24th scales. Great work on the track overall-very nice finished product. I built an off-road track myself in my basement composed of wood, rubber flooring, and covered with carpet. Plenty of elevation change, but no subfloor so nowhere near as nice finished lanes. Your lanes would be better for beginners because you technically can't go outside of them. I used probably 1/2" by 1" wood strips from Lowes for the lanes on the ground, but the buggies are able to drive over them, and I never put in a sub floor so I can't anchor any lanes to the floor securely besides nailing them together. Great job on the track.
Thanks for the comments! We run 1/18 & 1/24 scale on this track. 1/18 (open wheel) is great once you get some laps under the belt - many places to pass. 1/24 is definitely easier and they’re 4wd and wicked fast. As for the track, the walls turned out great and yes, you can run up against them without going over them most of the time. We put tire glue on our tire sidewalls which really helps them slide along the wall instead of gripping onto (and over) it. We just added grip sand to all of the curves last weekend. We used it on the high banks and it turned out so nicely that we decided to do the curves too. Huge improvement to the overall drivability of the track. Thanks again!
sick track
Awesome track m8!
Thank you!
Man that looks good! I wanna build one now! Awesome job!
Thanks Nate!
This is so fkkkn cool, can make an awesome small scale track with limited space
THANKS! The track is 12’x28’ and a blast to run. The high banks were worth the effort!
Very cool bro!
Thanks!
I think miniz (1:28) would be good... it will give a lot of fun
yes, mini z’s would also be great on this track!
This is really sweet. But the kids still wont be interested.
Fucking awesome dude. Great work.
That is really slick
I would love to shred that rc track with my 1/16 buggy
Absolutely bad ass !!
Thanks!
very cool ; nice job
Stuff like this what gets me going
Uhh
@@glo5015 I mean it makes me wanna make a track lol
mudpuddle_fpv mp_fpv nah, homemade indoor RC tracks give me a boner too. No shame in it, bro.
Fantastic workmanship
Great job
If only I had the skills and the time
BRILLIANT!!
Epic!
I'd love to run my gt24 rally on that track! Absolutely sick!
That's awesome!!
ideal for kyosho 1 28 buggy
Nice you need some jumps too.
Thanks! Jumps and a dedicated on/off ramp will be added to the track one of these days....
Dream track
Absolutely fantastic! Great inspiration right here. Amazing job! 🚀 Keep it up.

🙌
THANK YOU!
The only problem i see eith this is not being able to race with another car due lack of space, but that may just be the scale of this particular truck. Besides that, execution is near perfect! would love to see a Mini Z buggy inside there :)
Thanks for the comment. We run multiple cars on the track, 1/18 and 1/24 scale. With 1/18 it is tight but there are many places where passing is possible once you have some laps under your belt. 1/24 cars are definitely easier. I have another video posted that shows both scales running the track if you’re interested. Thank again!
Very cool!
Very nice track but might need even smaller cars like the kyosho mini z 1/28th scale! 👍🏼
man this was awesomely done. Well made my brotha 💯 💪
Thank you!
I used to do designs like that with paper like that in the 8th grade I didn't know I could make it tho lol I did crazy designs like speed racer level crazy plus I didn't have time to.make cause I was in middle school
Sweet track
Thanks!
epic work!! I'd kill to have somewhere big enough to do something like that (and by 'like that'... I mean nothing like that at all, is it would be a train wreck if I even attempted to build something like that :) ) - But carpet and cardboard jumps would keep me happy :)
Thank you. Nothing wrong with cardboard and carpet, imo. 👍
this is amazing dude...i will be ur friend lmao...come kick it
I did this in my finished basement which is huge has wet bar pool table carpeting master bed and bathroom down there family room and my game room and Rc track which is just a oval/road course CRC rc carpet track for the 1/24 scale miniz racing and 1/12 scale oval nascar cup/truck and latemodel and of course the 1rc cars sprints crate late super late and modifieds and the rest of the 1rc cars with full timing system idk why I built it when we have a giant indoor club carpet track that has free practice everyday during week and race every Thursday and sat all year round for last ten years
Amazing track nice job
thanks John!
If you build it they will come! Che-che-che.haw-haw-haww.jason sounds sorry.but sereiously.that is a a rc racers dream track.nice vid.subscribed!
Thanks!!!
Crazy cool
Thank you!
I have a pretty decent idea I guess, if you know what an emax interceptor is, great!
If you don't though, it's a 1/24-ish 2wd FPV car that is fully proportional.
It isn't the most "torquey" RC car but it has a nice top speed of around 15-20 km/h depending on the surface. 1s LiPo battery, built in car charging! And a nice FPV camera.
You'd have to keep your speed up for that climb though. Not the most powerful, but once it gets going, (it's pretty good at accelerating, don't worry) it has more power.
You can race with friends in first person. It can slide out if you aren't careful and it makes it really fun!
Just an idea though. They are about 55 USD for the car and the remote and 90-ish USD for the Goggles/full RTR kit. The other one/cheaper one is still RTR but without the Goggles.
Going around those banks would be epic in FPV
The track looks amazing too! :)
Thanks! I hope to get some fpv video this winter. That and a few jumps are on my hope-to-do list.
@@jonludwig I'm excited! Can't wait to watch them! :)
Very nice track, good work. But in 1/18 it will be hard to overtake....
Thanks. Overtaking is possible in several places but yes, not easy. We like the challenge of it.
Perfect for the mini Z
I would love to have a course like that to run our mini z's that's so dope
Would love to run my Carisma GT24TR on that track......wow.
Pas mal, joli circuit, personellement je remonterais un peu les barrières intérieures dans les relevés ce qui élargirait les virage intérieurs
some Daytona Banks on that thing
Awesome dude, it inspired me
Thank you!
That is freaken awesome.
Thanks Rance!
Классная трасса!!! 👍👍👍
Kinds sucks it has such sharp corners right after that bank, would be nice to kinda keep the momentum going
The smaller high bank has the straight away right after it so we can keep the momentum going - or slingshot out of it. The sharp corner after the larger high bank is a real challenge and really tests braking and overall driving skills. Also, we can run the track backwards and slingshot out of the larger high bank if we want. Either way, those banks are fun!!!
the life of a bachelor
wow, this is cool!
