I had the honor to be present when a Navy MOH winner was on my base. For some reason he asked me to take a walk with him and told me to watch. When approached by 2 senior officers, he refused to salute at which point they started to “dress him down” but he showed them his MOH they immediately snapped to attention & saluted him! What a life changing event! We didn’t stop laughing until we got to the enlisted mens club where we attempted to lose appropriate numbers of brain cells! Thank you Chief for your service and sacrifice!

On behalf on the ungrateful nation of New Zealand, I raise my hand in congratulations to you for your actions on behalf of your fellow Marines and fellow humans.
My country has forgotten the sacrifices made by many Marines from 1941 through to the end of WWII in 1945.
I on the other hand have been raised by a family which chooses to recognize that freedom is never free and it does indeed take men like yourself, to maintain and keep that freedom.
Once again, I give my thanks to you and the entire Marine Service Corps for keeping New Zealand free during and after the War.

Every military man must honor this man by saluting him first, even the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, every military officer, even of the highest rank, even those of our allies in NATO! When a medal of honor recipient arrives anywhere, on a NATO facility anywhere in the world, all persons there are notified and put on alert lest they miss the duty and privilege of honoring this man with a first salute. Furthermore, every man must stand to attention, even the military's highest ranking general, when this man enters the room. Also, this man is the only one who is allowed to remain sitting even if the military's highest ranking officer should enter. Wow!

20 dislikes from 20 snowflakes who will never understand the concept of serving something greater than themselves. Or the act of fighting for your brothers at your side. Semper Fidelis brother.

Who the fuck are you? I'm a retired military member and respect people's right to disagree. I don't agree with them, but fought to protect that right. Just chill, dude. Everyone has that right.
