HG/SS Route 29 is my favorite out of all of the routes. It can both sound like the fresh start of a journey or simply a time to go back home. Other favorites are Route 201, and Unova Route 1.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how Nintendo went from D/P to BW2 *on the same system*? Like seriously, look at those graphical differences, and even the music sounds slightly higher quality (not talking about personal preference/taste, just literally the sound quality). D/P had a 3D overworld, but BW/BW2 pushed that even further and had animated idle pokemon sprites in battles too. Idk, I guess I'm just nostalgic for gen 4 and 5 since they were and still are really my main generations.

+Oh shit he (Dark MegaMan EXE) So pokemon cries are so important to the game that they affect the gameplay? There was nothing wrong with the 3d sprites unless you look at them from an angle. Take a look at mega houndoom from the front and from the side. As for human character sprites, you can't expect them to make fully detailed models like characters from Metal Gear Solid or something. They're already making 720+ models of pokemon. You're either a genwunner or the nostalgia has taken over you completely.
B/W 2 is the pick of them all for me, the refreshing vibes of starting your journey as a follow up of the dramatic events that occured in B/W is appealing. And its always going to be the most nostalgic first route theme for me given I really started getting serious with Pokemon after playing this game

Man, it's crazy coming back to all of these. The nostalgia from the first 3 games, the Gen iV to V tracks that got me when I first started Pokemon as kid, and even X & Y's short route 1... it's all coming back
As short as the route itself was, Vaniville Pathway's (Kalos Route 1's) theme is a masterpiece! It's just such a peaceful & happy theme that always puts a smile on my, & Pokemon's faces! :)
My first Pokémon game was Sapphire. Diamond and Pearl on the DS were pretty good. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were absolutely brilliant and I love them so much.
I remember playing Gold for the first time and ending up in Kanto and how awesome it felt to make it to Kanto's Route 1. Before I knew I was actually going to take on Red later at Mt. Silver, I went on the hunt for him in Pallet Town hoping to confront him. Haha :P
Gen 1, 2 and 3 sound the best, imo. But I don't like the remakes, they are too slow (except Route 1 in FRLG) Apart from the music, Gen2 and 5 are my favs.
