- The four different Pallet Town themes
0:00 - Generation 1 (R/B/Y) - 75 secs
1:14 - Generation 2 (G/S/C) - 85 secs
2:40 - Generation 3 (FR/LG) - 95 secs
4:15 - Generation 4 (HG/SS) - 105 secs
As you can see, it's gotten slower for every new generation of Pokemon games.
UPDATE: This video is from 2010. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee came out in 2018 so their music is not here. - Игры
I remember hearing this tune on Christmas morning... T_T
Izzy mannnnn I got Yellow for Christmas.... my damn childhood!.. I’m 28 and I’ll damn sure tear up hearing the original theme.. life was simple..
Charlie Deaver lol the muffled “Pikachu!” at the start screen lol. While I wasn’t old enough to really truly grasp the game I remember specific things/areas. A lot of good memories.
Now that's what heaven feels like, why didn't I find this comment earlier?!?!
1998 ahh wow I wish I existed
Ok that's good!
gosh this hits home, i don't care how old i get, I'm gonna stay involved with pokemon and preserve my childhood cuz those were the best years of my life
I know it’s been 7 years since this comment but I feel you man Pokémon has always been and will be a part of my life just the thrill of a new adventure with your own Pokémon was just unrivaled
Moooooooooh
@Michael Hanes shut up
Well, you weren't lying

The progressing of the songs in the four different generations, are like LIFE itself:
The first one:
You know nothing of the world - and the song is fast paced, you are very young,, about to go out on adventure and get life experience.
Second:
You return to your homeplace, a bit older, and a bit more experienced. In game, you have been to johto, and seen some of the world. The song progresses a little bit slower - you are a teenager, and have gotten some life experience.
Third:
You are in your late twenties, and the song is slower at pace, as is you. You have seen many parts of the world, and the song represent you finding your ambitions, and getting at peace with what you wanna do in life.
Fourth:
You have achieved your goals (Job, family? and more), and you are getting older. You progress your life at your own pace, not as much eager as you were before in your earlier years...
Bro, that's deep. Boutta make me cry over here. Lol
why must you make me cry? ;__;
+lasse skarpengland Wtf
somehow....thats true....
Do you eat bacon?
Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.
pramath1605 who's iwata? the composer of pallet town theme song?
SilentKnightXD he helped develop gen 2, also former president of nintendo
@@keiji1531 Seriously!? Have you been living in a cave!? He was THE president of Nintendo, a true legend in the gaming industry!
Dark Hunter And helped with the memory problem by making a compression program that allowed gold/silver to contain both kanto/johto
@xyz yqu absolutely.
Gen 4's Pallet Town feels like visiting your old home after moving away for so many years
Finally, someone put my feelings in words I could not understand nor describe
Exactly my first Pokemon game Was Pokemon FR.
Thanks kinda how gen 2 felt
The Pallet Town theme from FR/LG makes me relive my childhood. (The first Pokemon game I ever played was FireRed)
What was it?
+Dominic Raven there's a website that lets you play most game boy games free, including blue. It's called PlayR
Lucien Diame First pokemon game was FireRed. In Chinese. I found it on the ground in a demolition site.
+Aryzen Inniriea wtf
Everybody dies. Some just need a little help.
Man where did all these invisible onion-cutting ninjas come from...
MusicMike512 They came from Japan... others say Kyoto.
kyoto IS in japan.....
D. BrOkEn i think it's from kanto
You never see those ninjas, they cut dem onions and vanish before you even notice!
azhari 98, technically, Kanto IS in Japan
Maybe the music slows down every generation because when the series ends, the song will stop.
nooo! ;_;
THIS MADE ME THINK A LOT AND CRY A LITTLE BYE
you made me sad
F you!
😢😢
NOOO
In my humble opinion, gen 2 were the best games. Simply because you got both regions, a great storyline that remained engaging way longer than any others even now with the exception of their remakes. And, by gen 2, they hadn't wandered too far from the originals; the music was still 8bit and the environments looked similar. To top it all off, you could battle Red,
Rupert Leather 're you kidding us, right?
Edén G. Benavente G. I thought everyone knew red.
Rupert Leather The main character of Generation 1...
Someone please kill Rupert.
Rupert Leather Please tell me you know the story of Red....
An ice cream truck passes every day and has this music on. I didn't even knew it was from Pokémon. I'm mindblown.
HOLY SHIT.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE.
I NEED TO MOVE INTO THAT NEIGHBOURHOOD.
Technology will always be amazing.
alienspacebat Just uploaded a pallet town piano cover on my channel- check it out!
I get the reference!
***** Yeah, Nintendo would never let the fat guy talk about ALL the great things technology has done for us.
Gen 1 Pallet Town is probably my favorite song. Period. I get such nostalgia every time I hear it.
I'm home. Time to start a new journey.
Bruh remember when you were a kid and life didnt suck Lol
Yeah lmao
Since I grew up playing Leaf Green, Gen 3 Pallet Town will always be my favorite. I miss the old days where I spent every minute of every day beating- or at least trying to- the game.
I grew up with fr so I feel ya
Mia Grooms the best things i can say about the gen 3 remake of gen 1 is pallet town and team rocket (Idk how but I explicitly remembers team rocket over all esle, probably cuz of all those rattata)
AnimalProductionz Sameee I beat the game with only a level 96 charizard and a shit ton of potions and hm slaved and revives
I like the background choir in gen 1
FR/LG is my favorite, I think the song sounds better when slowed down.
And in the key of A.
Solarie you like pokemons?
Praise the sun, brother.
Fire Red was my _first_ Pallet town
I love how it's in a different key than the others
I'm gonna have to say Gen 1's version is the best. Call it nostalgia based judgement, but Gen 1's Pallet Town theme gives that feeling that tells you "Welcome to this amazing world where you will train to be the best. Along the way, you will learn the values of teamwork and to care for the creatures you train. Your journey begins here."
The truth !
I like it best because it's not slow.
zeldaed123 For me, it's the best due to the fact that it doesn't seem to be crammed full of instruments that the two remakes seem to be plagued with making it sound kind of shit, and has a somberness that gen 2 doesn't.
zeldaed123 Generation 1 is just like you described, where generation 4 is more of a "Welcome home" theme
>somberness
Yeah, I think that's just due to hardware/soundchip limitations and your imagination talking.

I meant GameBoy Colour. I've edited it.
HG/SS were to me, the best pokemon games ever, the story line was long, there were many things to do after the elite 4. I loved it. 💕
For me b2w2 were best
@ayyyhum as a shiny hunter, you aren't suffering enough for legendaries

Don't cry! But I agree. I want to cry as well
Memories
Hearing people talking of any version other than gen1 as their first makes me feel old. I hope if one day I have a son we could both enjoy pokemon, or even a grandson
Blue was my first, well... technically it was my older brothers copy. But I used to play it on my GBA when he was in school XD
So yes, gen 1 is my first generation, later on when my brother moved out, he passed on his copy of blue to me... I have the urge to play it this weekend but, the save battery is dead and it's not keeping my progress TTwTT
You can change the battery.
I started playing pokemon like idk 3 weeks ago yea sounds lame i never played pokemon before btw it was gen 3 (lg)
You want to feel really old? First pokemon game I got was pokemon Y.
maybe your daughters would like pokemon too, you never know :)
i think the very first generation has the best music for pallet town😊this music means a lot to my childhood, i really wish could turn back time😢😢
Ya the first gen rocked!
I wish I could turn back time too, so I could be 9 again.
I like the background choir
0:00 Generation 1 (R/B/Y) - 75 secs
1:14 Generation 2 (G/S/C) - 85 secs
2:40 Generation 3 (FR/LG) - 95 secs
4:15 Generation 4 (HG/SS) - 105 secs
Your Welcome and Have a Nice Rest Of Your Day! ☺
The original version will always be the best ...
3rd generation is the best to me because of nostalgia
Why do I cry whenever I hear this
I was gonna say the same thing ;_;
\
WHAAAAA-
Cause we grew UP , and This song is good memories
When I hear this I think of Iwata. RIP.
+Epicfilmslol Watch Pokemon that was created by Satoshi Tajiri
+Tekki P. Paraculista They think of it because we would not have Kanto in Johto if not for Iwata. They were working on the game and weren't able to fit all of GS onto the cartridge. Iwata saved the project with some mad programmer skills, and not only made enough room for the game itself, but freed up so much space, they were able to have Kanto fit as well. If not for Iwata, there would only be two tracks in this. It wouldn't have been in more than just RBY/FRLG.
+Tekki P. Paraculista Iwata still had a huge part in pokemon though
***** And the compression was done by Iwata
Love Pokemon to the heart, i'm a long time fan. You cannot believe it but, Pokemon has helped me in my hard and stressful times.
We deepply love Pokémon! ❤
My favorite game of all time is Pokemon HG/SS. We can walk with Pokemon, travel to other regions and battle Red. Allthough I can't play it anymore 'cause my 2DS is updated so I can't play my R4 Card... (My family don't have enough money to buy me a real copy of Pokemon SS so we have to buy the R4 Card)
If you consider upgrading your flashcard, go with the supercard dstwo. it still works fine on my 3ds
If you really can't afford actual copies, do indeed invest in a dstwo. It plays pretty much every ds game and continues to work with new updates.
It also comes with a built in gba emulator, multiple save support, real time saving and cheating, getting around piracy blocks without patches, sdhc support, multiple languages, more ram, extra cpu, support for many file types others can't play (especially video files) and you can download an emulator for pretty much every system from before the ps1, but including gbc and gba.
Really, I recommend you look into it instead of buying another R4i sdhc gold super 3ds+ ultra updated edition.
For a cheaper one, R4i-SDHC still works as of update 9.5.0-23.
I agree in every way
Galaxy Celestial Master Aww, that's too bad. Oh well, when you can get it for yourself, it will be so much better because of the prolonged excitement.
The best one (for myself, feel free to disagree) is hands down R/B/Y Gen 1. It's still tugs on heartstrings from my childhood years :)
No ones gonna disagree! Can't hate on the classics
My favorites are the first and third,
Gen 1 hasn't aged well
100%
Matthew Valenzuela same and i didnt even grow up with gen 1 lol
I hold a strange nostalgia for the gen 1 pallet town theme despite never playing gen 1 once. I only played gen 2 and I went through Kanto wondering if I needed to play gen 1 to actually enjoy the nostalgia trip.
Idk why but i get ur feel
FireRed/LeafGreen are the best, and HeartGold/SoulSilver's is pretty good too.
*FireRed/LeafGreen's is
Super Luigi Your correction is incorrect.
No, it's not...
Yasuo His correction is right. He refers to the soundtrack, not the version, so he ad 's.
Nia Cybermon Sorry
Who else thinks generation 1 sounds the best?
+DPlex HD awesome
Edward Elric I do
I agree with the short guy
TwinSpinner WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL THAT THEY CAN ONLY BE SEEN WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS?!
Edward Elric Whoa, you're a pretty feisty shrimp, aren't ya? Looks like you salvaged that automail from the bottom of a scrap heap!
Fire Red brings back memories
I am fourteen right now. I played this game when I was right or nine when my mom bought it at a yard sale for 20$
Gen 3 is the one that gives me pangs of nostalgia. Leafgreen was my first pokemon game. That wavy quality about it is so nice.
this gives me extreme nostalgia
+Dominic Raven GUESS WHAT
IM ALSO 14
AND I STILL PLAY THEM
TOP THAT
Same here. I'm literally crying...
yeah, you're right. i missed my childhood time😢😢
Nicholai 9x19 Ahh... I'm 18, but I miss childhood when I was 14... Because that's when depression set in, and I no positive outlook on life.
I miss being younger than 6, because it was when I was 6 that I gained a sleeping disorder, and since then I never had a full sleep again.
Nicholai 9x19
It's OK... I kinda just jumped in, and I don't see any point of offence.
I'm surprised at the hate the G/S/C version is getting.
SomeFluffer1964 I am too...I actually like that version because the beautiful melody of the original is enchanted by the new harmonies and just makes the main melody more beautiful, imo (also slowing it down a tad also helped the melody to sing more)
Gold version was the first actual pokemon game I really played (Not really counting Stadium 1 or 2 because it's not the same.
"All boys leave home someday." Every time I hear this I know I'm in for a hell of an adventure... and It makes me tear up just saying to myself
So nolstagic... I still play blue and red version! Never gets hold! And i love in gold or silver go back to kanto and see how it looks after 4 hears! Silver was the best! Nostalgic and a long storyline
I miss the inocent time when i was playing this.
cries tears of nostalgia even through i never had a gb i had a emulator
I know that feel....
Good times...
Same lol
I had GBC and one of my second cousin had GBA and me and my big brother played Pokemon Yellow and Gold when I was a kid and this makes me nostalgic because of it..... Haaah...... Miss those days 😢😢
I like it simple. Gen 1 is the best.
I know it's been 6 years but gen 3 is the best

Yeah. Pure nostalgia.
Wow, it's amazing to see how the mucic's changed over the years! Nostalgia! Plus, your annotations gave me a good chuckle. =)
25 years later, it's an amazing beginning in Gen 1 and 3, a nostalgic reminder, and gen 4? A powerful and triumphant retrospective of everything you've been through. Thank you pallet town. You're welcoming arms have brought joy to millions
The best one is Gen 1, because it's give you a feeling like "Welcome to this awesome world where you will be the champion. Along the way, you will earn badges and defeat the elite four. Your journey begins here."
Like if you have the same opinion.

Nicholas Svitak
You mean fuck the real Pokémon fans.
Jason Gunn-Davis I really hope your joking
FR/LG>Yellow>HG/SS>Crystal
Yellow was my first gameboy game ^^
Gen 2 is what had the most impact for me. It was the short-term nostalgia from the first gen that it triggered...And the fact that the story took place three years later...What they did to enhance the original melody via new harmony lines (which were also beautiful) made the melody "sing" even more, and do so nostalgically. The slight slowing down of the tempo also helped to achieve this effect as well! (I even remember mentally attaching this music to the Red battle because I was just feeling that connection of "this is what came before" (where now that same red trainer you controlled was now a master...so his hometown was more grand in that sense). So I'll always have a special place for the Silver version!
This song legit makes me cry, It shouts hometown, ya know? It not only gives us that nostalgia feeling with the beginning of the adventure but also gives me that motherly embrace back home. Like I was gone for so long and and am finally back...Home
Ikr
Same this music right here is so emotional and beautiful ❤️😭🥰

Thanks for the music just wanted to know what pallet town sounded like but i never knew they were in the other games too!
when i started up lets go pikachu and heard the theme i literally strated crying, i grew up too much with pokemon and had to come here to listen to the red and blue one.
My favorite is Gen 3 (FireRed & LeafGreen).

I have to disagree with your taste in games m8. But, you're solid on cars. Love Nissan GTR-R35
God the gen 4 music is so relaxing it's like the music just melted all over my ears.
Dat gen 4 just makes me happy inside, like with the chirping of whatever in the background.
The first always is and always will be the best, the music just blends together so perfectly
There's something about this music that makes me feel peaceful. Whenever I hear this song, it feels like I'm home, just like Red in this game too.
you took the words right out of my mouth!
Despite only being 22 years old, I deeply love the 1st Gen. of Pokémon! ❤
Heart Gold and Soul Silver's music had so much dedication And love put into them. It's amazing
Nostalgia... You feel it?
One word:
Legendary !
BEST VIDEO EVER ! BEST THEMES PUT TOGETHER ! A QUADRILLION LIKES FOR U MAN!
Pokemon songs are great, but nothing can beat the song played in Pallet Town! Love this song, but with all generations, it's the BOMB! Great job! This video deserve to get into my "Best Songs List" ! Congrats!
i like the pallet town from gen 1 and gen 3
gen 1 music was just simply beautiful magic :')
When u first start your pokemon journey, this is the music that welcomes you. So caring and joyful, playful with a true sense of excitement.
Omg it real does bring a tear to your eye after all these years
Generation 1, we use to ditch class to trade Pokemon lol. Good times, good times!
Generation 4 was the best... Obviously
Kirbychu d/p/pt was already amazing but gen 2 remake, hands down exploded outta this world. The very first games that I actually had trouble against the elite four (hg/ss) damn you lance and your underlevel dragonite
I just listened to the Lavender town theme, I'm so glad I came onto this video, very soothing.
I remember dad coming home from work and giving me a pokemon game, my first pokemon game, Pokemon Yellow.
For some reason the red/blue version is my favorite :/
Same
Jason Pathmarajah ?
What Engineer said is true, Heart gold and Soul silver were the best games I have ever bought. I still have them but I lost interest in it due to my loss of interest in pokemon. Black and White had a cheesy storyline and it was easy, after you beat the elite four your basically done the game. Literally.
I take it you haven't played Black and White 2?
***** I said heartgold was the best game I bought. Black 2 and white 2 improved a lot, and I'm glad they made a remake of black and white. But black 2 and white 2 will never beat heart gold and soul silver.
*****
so yah I played black and white and black and white 2
Cheesy storyline? It had a more gripping story than the usual 'beat these guys', it's story beats the normal 'stories' by far. Cheesy my ass.
@@Goliath1337 lol calm down, it's her opinion. Personally I didnt enjoy gen 5 at all.

Got here after learning Ash's journey is over. I didn't watch an episode of the anime in like 10 years but the news hit me like a truck. Damn.
Shit. it's been way too long. I like the new games don't get me wrong. But at times like this, I'm glad I grew up with generation 1 and 2. It was so simple yet challenging and lovable. As I said, I have no hate for the newer games. It's just that this takes me back to a time where I was young and dumb. When life was concise. Hearing this really soothes my heart and calms me down for an unfathomable reason. I've not heard the pallet town theme properly in 3 years due to how busy I am. I'll never forget how Pokemon created my childhood.

Gets slower and slower lolol
Simply lovely. My favorites have to be the first and last one. Both seem to give it that somber yet cheery vibe that just seems perfect. The first one trumps all, obviously. It has a bit of an innocence in it that just works for setting out on the Pokemon journey.
Jesus, havent even realize i was 16 until i hear these songs when i was playing this game back when i was 7, the everyday grinding was so real. Now hearing these songs are just make my childhood come back and miss every moment of it
1.25x speed and everything is good tho :3
+Shinori Shun and 1.5x speed for the slower one :3
Gen 3 by a mile
HG SS beats it by a mile leaving gen 3 in the dust and glued to the road
Xarai 3rd gen is better I grew up with it and he probably did also and IT CAME FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*****
I'm not quite sure that's sound logic lol
I feel some of the people here simply do know what it felt like to be laying in bed with a fat clunky Gameboy with the light extension just to see Pokémon Gen 1. Mom has already said it time for bed, you have school in the morning. Unable to fall asleep because of the adventure and quest to become the best. I am so glad to know this is the stuff I grew up on, you have to love Pokémon and most def have to love the 90’s
Out of all the comments here, yours triggered that nostalgia the best. Sometimes years go by when I don't think about the 90s in any detail at all, and then I click on a video like this and the memories all come flooding back in an instant. Strange how it feels like all of it was a lifetime ago, though.
several months from now, we'll be returning to this song...
see you later ash old frend
this may be weird but fire red is the only pokemon game ive ever played XD
but hey im playing emerald now :D
Nick Locicero u liking it so far? :) It's my personal favorite :D
Jeremy Xu yeah I am liking it alot. I have a shiftry, gyrados, blaziken, aggron, and hariyama. i havent been playing it that much because of school so im only at the 6th gym but i might beat it during spring break
Nick Locicero cool to know people that can play any Generation of games even if they are 3 Gen old. It doesn't make the game any worse than it was in it's time :)
Andru (Zoular)
These games are definently awesome even if they're old. I still have a gameboy advance SP along with my DSI. Emerald and Firered are still in my room, and theyre AWSOME
Pokemon used strength
Pokemons defense grew!
Pokemon used nostalgia!
Its Super Effective!
All our comments sounds like they could have came from any one of the random NPCs we talked to in every town.
pokemon yellow is my favorite
I think it's safe to say that gen 1 will never be beaten, it's been 20 years and none of the other gens have come anywhere near as captivating as the nice music and actually memorable pokemon they had back then. Just saying, the later gens had Bidoofs, gen 1 had Charizard......I think gen 1 wins.
Don't generalize. Gen 1 had its own Bidoof equivalent (Rattata).
I do like Red/Blue's theme the best out of these four, mostly because I've always prefer upbeat tunes to slower ones.
Very true, but as far as memorable pokemon go it's hard to beat gen 1.
John Smith You're right. Gen 1 does have the most memorial Pokémon out of all the generations because that's where it all began.
***** Good point. But all generations have their share of awesome Pokémon, so you can't really just use an example of one Pokémon out of the hundreds of them
No. Other gens are better than gen 1. Just because It's the starting gen doesn't mean it's better. In my opinion all the other gens had more memorable music than this. Although I have to say this song is enchanting.
I think we all miss having the thrill for a new adventure one where we explore and discover not just places around but ourselves as well, the most important thing is that you can’t go this journey alone wether it’s your Mom waiting for you at home or the team you built around yourself knowing that you’ll never be alone, funny thing is we just didn’t have enough experience to put what we felt into words and we’re just young it’s only now after growing up that we realize that life and a family are probably the most important thing we could ever have, we were even earning money doing something we really like Winning battles!!!! Never did we know that life wouldn’t be as easy as Pokémon and I guess that why we miss this nostalgic feeling so much...
Play Gen 2 on 1.25x speed, Gen 3 on 1.5x speed, and Gen 4 on 1.75x speed and they sound like Gen 1's.
