I can actually see Steven/Wallace's theme fitting really well in GSC. Part of me wonders if songs get cut and then reused in subsequent games. I can see that music being used for either the Box Legendaries, the Elite 4, or even as a replacement for Lance's theme. The style of Johto is a very distinct one, using tons of dotted quater note patterns in its pieces. In fact, that motif is in every single battle theme in the Gen 2 games (though it is a very common motif throughout most of the Pokemon series as a whole). Something about the Hoenn champion theme though would sit better in Johto than other battle themes that share in the same pattern scheme.
It might be due to the GBA included legacy GB's sound spec. With its dual 8bit DAC, it supported everything the GB could do sound wise plus facilitated its backward compatibility with GB/C titles.
This has to be the greatest thing you have EVER produced Eli. Good God Almighty, the amount of talent you possess in composing music is so freaking good, it actually is quite terrifying. Really dude, I tip my hat off to you. This is beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of your greatest works, and I can assure you that there a thousand more to come, should you continue with the way you're going right now. Holy hell dude, job well done.

Cynthia was the hardest champion for me. I was reminded how strong her team was when some random trainer named Cynthia challenged me to a 6 vs 6 singles pokemon battle online a few weeks ago using her very same team. Needless to say I got dominated.
GrEEn Have you played Diamond or Pearl? She can really kick some arse there especially since there is no fairy type so Garchomp is more threatening and it means Spiritomb has no weaknesses (fighting doesn't hit ghost and ghost resists bug dark resists itself and ghost)
Congrats on 50k! A cool idea would be to make annotations for each of the champions' battle pictures, so clicking on the picture will take you to their theme.
And to be honest, in all of my 13 years of living on this Earth, I am a down right HARDCORE Retro Gamer, but not much of a fan of the Pokemon Series as much as other things, but I LOVE OVER THE TOP remixes that were worked on for a long time like this, AND IT'S A COMPILATION!!! That Garchomp and Haxxorus looked awesome. Everything was really great! There is this one part (1:07) that never seems to be replaceable from the original though.
This takes me back, reminds me of the first time I beat the Pokemon League in Gold on the Gameboy Colour. (Because when I was a kid I got stuck on Blue and forgot to play it further.) I remember being stuck at the end with Fraligator as he was beaten just because of Full Restores, but one of my runs he levelled up and that gave him just enough power to defeat the Champion. I was so happy. Fraligator was the first Pokemon I ever got to reach level 100. Aaahhh good times.
My favourite champion would have to be Iris. The starting battle scene and background has to be the most epic by far. In addition, you are fighting in the pokemon league, a place once ravaged by Team Plasma. To see it rebuilt and adding little details such as the planets on the wall only brings back nostalgia from the first game and makes the experience better. Iris's team is also pretty scary tbh.
