I always thought there should be a Former Champion trainer class, it’s makes them sound more powerful then just calling them Pokémon Trainer (sweet remix btw)
To be fair, Pokémon Trainer is only ever given to 3 kinds of trainers, the Player characters, the rivals, and the champions that are not a champion at that moment. In all cases, they’re always related to being historically incredible trainers, whether they’re destined for greatness like the players and rivals, or they’re outright former legends all together, having already made their mark in history. It’s honestly funny how only characters that are among the greatest can actually possess the genuine role of Pokémon Trainer in of itself as an actual title, despite the fact that it would normally imply being so basic that they don’t even belong to the other Trainer classes reserved for npc’s. Edit: Ok, I just looked it over and there are other trainers that have the class that don’t fit the above, but in return they are still important, whether they be the Stat Trainers from Sinnoh, important storyline characters like N(who was even a former champion in of itself), or even Elite Four members/Gym Leaders/Frontier Brains that were neither battled in their respective facilities nor as their role(either on break or outright former), including the Straiton Trio(B2W2 Link Event) Malva(postgame Looker Event battle) and Anabel(in Alola). My point still stands that it is only given to very important NPC’s.

I wish there were more official remixes of previously existing themes from older generations that don’t simply update the sound font like remake remixes do. I’m talking about how GSC music made completely new arrangements of all the Kanto themes, sans a few of them such as this one. Good on you for pushing this concept man, love this stuff.

this is great! i always thought it was a _little_ bit of a missed opportunity that blue didn't have his own theme in the johto games, but I guess it makes sense considering you're battling him as the final gym leader. still would've been cool though :p
It slightly bothers me that you didn't fully respect the Gameboy limitations with this track (having two base-tracks/sawtooth noises playing at once for instance), but nitpick aside this is pretty good
Feels like this would be the more canonically accurate song to play when Gold fights Red, as epic as the actual song is, even tho it’s just Lance’s reused
