@@barnir8795 yes. they used to be around 99 bucks the same as the Alpha(which is better) but now they are only 75 which is the right price for it. It was the best 100 dollar headset after the Alpha but now that they are 75, I would say you are getting much more than you are paying.
It was my first headset that I bought 4 years ago (Gun Metal color). And yes, it still works like the first day (I am a careful person with my peripherals). I am still impressed by its sound, but to be honest, I prefer to use them without the option of 7.1 enabled. My Cloud II accompanied me in many video games, great moments and laughs with my friends. Really recommended for those who want to buy their first gaming headphones. It became my first gaming headset that lasted for years thanks to its excellent durability. Now I bought a Redragon Zeus (thanks to the recommendation of this channel) to be my main headset. I will keep the Cloud II in its original box. Retire them? not at all, I will start a headphone collection and my Cloud II will be the main one in my collection.
Thanks to your review I bought the Cloud II yesterday. I'm very satisfied with it and even when connected to the PS4 controller the sound is still very loud, I was afraid that the sound difference headphone jack vs USB was much bigger. Thanks for your video and the way you present it professionally.
I've had these for 5 years and they've taken a lot of abuse, they are still 100% in tact and they are still just as good as when I got them. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a headset to buy and never have to think about again.
Just bought mine today from the Black Week Sale at Media Markt, Germany. This review here helped me a lot. Probably the greatest headset in this price class. The build quality of the cables and the Sound Card is amazing, something that sadly was not the case on my old headset, the Lioncast LX 60. Also, it´s nice how many extras are included in the whole package. And also it´s not just you who feels that strange pressure point at the top of the headset, it indeed just has not enough movement to even it out. But I got used to it after a couple of hours and it is not a catastrophic discomfort. It took me a long way to find a new headset and I am happy to finally find this one. Overall very satisfied.
@@MrTeehee56 yes its really good. The headband is the most comfortable one i've used in a long time. The audio quality is also really good. Especially because you can modify the sound settings in the steelseries tool. I own a couple of hifi audio headsets, with some tweaking, it suprised me with how close it got to my VModa M100 Master headphones. (Hi-fi). Of course it wont beat it audio wise. But it is really good. Also, you can get plastic/leather earpads if you want to make the sound even better. Battery lasts really long, mic is good (not as good as steelseries claims) but fits the bill. Definately recommend it.
It is so amazing! I've been using it for almost 3 years and it still holds up. I need new of the leather pads. So much more tougher than its competition at its release year.

Ok now, Techne, your videos and comparisons on the hyper x cloud 2 and v2 blackshark have caused me to go back and really dig deeper into the sound of the hyper x cloud 2 wired and because of you I spent hours of focused attention on all the elements of the headset and sound quality. Surprisingly the cloud 2 wired still, still stands up and sounds fantastic. WhAt I learned especially using the headset with the ps5, don’t use the 7.1 feature but simply turn up the volume and the headset handles incredible ranges highs mids and lows at amazing volumes without overpowering the headset. Blank Parker Hi there, I had the same problem as you when I first received it, I noticed that the sound was quite low considering it was max volume and noticed that the dongle wasn’t fully working. After some research I learnt that it needed to be updated from www.hyperxgaming.com/en/support/technical/downloads/87032 or you could just search cloud 2 update and it should be the first one that shows up. Although the update needs to be done on a computer. The sound has definitely gone better and can now access all features (ps4)
This headset had lasted me 3 years and I've finally decided to upgrade to the same headset as my old one has many tears on the wires due to tangling but I recommend these to everyone
Matas Krisciunas Just ordered them today! My last headset went out after 3 years so I’m really looking forward to these. Anything I should know about them before they arrive?

I just upgraded to steelseries pro wireless though, shipment comes in tomorrow. :D Also even the pleather ear cups are breathable, ive had plenty 12+ hour sessions without any discomfort in any area (i wear glasses too btw)
BlueKnightCRAZE yeah these have ruined every other headset for me. I’ve used the hyper cloud II Headset for 2 years and just recently the cable has bit the dust. I figured I’d buy a nice new set so I bought some Astro A40s (praised for being extremely comfy) and they are not nearly as comfy as the hyperx headset.
These feel like clouds on my head.. most comfortable headphones and feels better built and quality than turtle Beach... plus sound is amazing... all in all they basically feel like they are worth double the price
I've recommended these several times and nobody has been disappointed. I like that you really emphasized the things you didn't like as personal preference. I think that was very responsible. What I would like to have seen was when you said "the build isn't the best", etc. What are you comparing them to? It would be extremely helpful to quickly point out some competing alternatives in the same category. I think people like myself are trying to see what the next level up from a device like this is. Liked your video, buddy. Thank you for the refresh update!
thank you so much for the kind words. yeah I have thought about that, showing others, but again I'm not saying the build is bad, just saying it's on par with other headsets. many comparisons to come.
Nice review, i bought the revolver s and give it back cos its really unconfortable and heavy, now i got the cloud 2. I thing the sound was better in the revolver but the cloud is confy. Still need to check it more! great content keep up the good work
Yes! I went and bought the Astro A40 with mix amp when mine died after 5 years of use, and ended up returning them and buying another pair of Cloud 2's. They sound better IMO and are definitely more comfortable.
If the mic is super robotic man thats a YOU issue as im using hyperx cloud 2 had initial robot then it never happened again so id check internet speeds as thats a major way to robot
@@blaketrujillo7165 Haven't gone that far in testing yet, but the instructions say that you can plug the cable only in to the controllers audiojack. You can use a controller adapter for bettering your audio quality.
I saw a review of some other youtuber(not very renowned) that since kingston sold hyperx to hp in 2021, the cloud 2 quality has gone to shit. the earcups quality, sound degraded also they don't provide the pouch anymore. so any chance you could revisit this and check if that's really the case? i was looking to buy this and that review stopped me. but i still want to buy thats why i want to be sure
Best friggin headset I've ever owned. My dog chomped through the cable on my original model HyperX Cloud, and I ordered the Cloud II immediately. The original Cloud's mic was crap but the headset itself was the most comfortable thing I ever wore. Any of the other brands, (Turtle Beach, Razer, Logitech, Playstation) my ears (I have big ones) would hurt after awhile and I'd get a pressure point on the top of my head. These don't at all. They get a little warm, but can easily game all friggin day with them. The sound quality on the Cloud II's mic is WAY better as well. On the Cloud, I'd get guys on Discord constantly asking me to repeat myself as it was quiet, but the Cloud II is crystal clear!
Hey Techne ! Great reviews as always man ! I’m planning on getting a new headset for ps4 and I’m Looking for something for fps games .. so would u recommend these or the turtle beach recon 200 ??
had a cloud 2 for 2 years, now i have the void pro usb i like the comfort of both equally, cloud is tighter and more secure so it wont move while the void pro is a little lighter and more loose, so when i turn my head too fast it moves a bit i wear glasses - i wear/wore those headsets for often more than 10 hours at a time and i have only had the problem of the cloud pressing on the cheekbone or the frames in the beginning, after about a week of wearing them it went away/i got used to it, dont know which, but it was gone and thats the main point i like the bass on the cloud more, probably because the earcups are tighter and pleather instead of that fabric type on the void pro sound is more customizable on the void though and i really like that, but thats more for listening to music than for gaming, the preset for gaming i use i pretty much the same as the 7.1 sound on the cloud, again with the exception of the bass void pro feels flimsy though, i feel like its gonna break the moment i sit on it by accident or if i were to throw it against the wall - cloud 2 has way better build quality - in the 2 years ive had it i abused it A LOT i sat on it, threw it on the ground several times, threw it against the wall several times, beat it against the table, you get the idea, it didnt have a good time, but it held up without a problem - until the outside cable connecting to the right earcup got that loose connection, at that point i fixed it in place with zip ties and duct tape and continued to use it for 4 months and it worked, the reason it got the loose connection was just me being dumb though, tried to show off how sturdy it is and pulled on the cable too hard, thats when the problem started conclusion: for music that not bass heavy - void pro for music thats bass heavy - cloud 2 for gaming if you rage a lot - cloud 2 for gaming if you are calm - void pro (unless you really like that bass) if you just want a headset you can abuse - cloud 2
Nice review 👍 I've always had problems with headsets, i bought the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 and I was very disappointed. I have the opportunity to buy a new one and i am thinking about some, i play on the PS4, can u give me some advice on witch? I thought about the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition, HyperX Cloud Revolver S, HyperX Cloud 2 or Astro a50?
I’m looking for a Xbox headset and currently using the $20 Turtle Beach Recons. What headset could you recommend for Call of Duty as I play with friends but I don’t hear anything from the headset and rely from the TV audio/them if they hear stuff. Should I wait for these to be on sale or what budget headset do you recommend for a FPS?
I think the grey one looks more “Sophisticated”, it’s the one I have, beautiful headset for gaming, or just listening to tunes. I like the sound better than my $400 beats studio3 wireless
I liked your vid because of your end comments lol. Why is it called a pro gaming headset? Why can't it just be a gaming headset? do I look pro? I don't feel pro. I definitely wasn't playing pro Cheers for the review mate
I just bought these and its almost 2021, definitely worth the money so far. I had steelseries siberia 800 before and they cost like $500 brand new all those years ago. Hyperx cloud 2 is miles ahead for me. I really do think these are worth the money for like $70 even after a year of your video
whats the best gaming headset in your opinion for fortnite i have a 200 dollar budget and im not sure what to get. i want really good sound quality with good 7.1 but im not sure if i should go for these or something more expensive since thats half my budget. i dont care about mic quality because i have a separate condenser mic.
Very thorough review, thank you! My headset is coming today and I’m super excited! The MAIN draw for me with the cloud II is the comfort as I wear glasses and my current headset really starts to hurt after a couple of hours. Everything else is a bonus, so it’s great to see that the sound and the mic are so great! Hopefully this headset greatly improves the quality of my gaming sessions.
thank you so much. I also wear glasses, and I really wish this headset had some sort of swivel, they tend to press on my cheek bone a bit much. I gotta say SteelSeries headset are the most cozy out there, ruclips.net/p/PL_QjcHP9SIIqtRFwsotAQUE_sDZuOGGej
I've had this headset for almost 3 years now. And it has been an amazing headset, not just for comfortability, but also sound! Anyone who sees this comment and is thinking to buy a new headset, this is one of my recommendations. 👍 Steelseries Arctis 5 is also a good option. These are ones I have.
@@xaltersmix3162 Yes, as he said on the video you can enable surround sound 7.1 whenever you want, and the sound quality is also very good even without the surround sound 👌
Had this bad boy for three years. Build quality is just something i can't say outload. The speakers are crisp and the sound is amazing. The quality of these speakers. Trying to buy a couple of them, but i already see they flush on the market. Not like all the other products nowadays, you can't even search for the serial numbers, and they're gone.
@@boiiiiiii5741 feels like the outsides been braided in some kind of nylon. the insides feels kind of stiff like a steel wire. flexable at the same time but more stiff than others. the stiff interior helps with the build quality.

Amar me and by brother both had these and honestly sad to say I just bought a steel series. The hyperx just let me down. It broke a lot and it eventually got false connection. If you you want something that’ll last you half a year I recommend. Otherwise there’s other options
@@itzfyr335 I and my brother did just buy this. for 59 each. And I agree with you, they are good and comfortable, but they have a bad connection. But if something happend I will return them to the store. But thank you so much👍👌
I have two pairs of these, no regrets. Also handy if you want a great headset for walking outside, the small cable length to the 3.5mm plug is handy, doesn't get in the way like longer cables do.
I had a Logitech and it broke exactly in the middle where the HyperX has the metal hanger, exactly where it splits up into the two lanes in fact. It's not just that it is metal it's also that it connects in two places with the speakercup whereas most other headsets only have one connection, directly in one line with the headband to the speakercubs which makes them much more fragile. It's exaclty where all the pressure is when you pull them apart like you also did multiple times in the video.
If u want more comfort and the 7.1 surround sound then go for the cloud ii. If u want the better sound and mic quality then go for the alphas. Personally, I think the cloud ii is the better value as it’s still good overall.
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Pro - Look like Pro, feel like Pro, be like Pro! That's how they should have said it. Anyway, great review. I was choosing between this headset, Razer Kraken Tournament edition and SteelSeries Arctis 5 for my girlfriend and as I have mentioned, I got her the Arctis 5 based on your and some other reviews. And now seing this one, I believe I made the right choice + SteelSeries Arctis 5 looks the best out of the three. So thank you for your reviews, they deffinetly help out to people like us! @@CFG50 yeah, I would go Arctis 5 also!
@@TheTechne noted sir its on my top priority now!
@@TheTechne you still didn't mention the headphones that are comparable to it in terms of solidness
Nice review, i bought the revolver s and give it back cos its really unconfortable and heavy, now i got the cloud 2. I thing the sound was better in the revolver but the cloud is confy. Still need to check it more! great content keep up the good work
sound is definitely better in the revolvers as it is their largest soundstage, but I am glad you found a headset you enjoy!
I always check your channel for reviews when I’m buying tech! Thanks!
thank you!!!
Hey bro love the videos! do you know if the sound card is compatible with other headphones?
didn't try it, but it does simply connect 3.5 so I don't see why not

Hi techne! Is it still worth it to buy hyperx cloud 2 this year 2021?
Yes! I went and bought the Astro A40 with mix amp when mine died after 5 years of use, and ended up returning them and buying another pair of Cloud 2's. They sound better IMO and are definitely more comfortable.
In my opinion the only big downside to having one of these is the mic quality. Its super robotic.
@Gaunter O'Dimm fr well said
If the mic is super robotic man thats a YOU issue as im using hyperx cloud 2 had initial robot then it never happened again so id check internet speeds as thats a major way to robot
i love youre channel too youre awesome you answer people back if u have a answer ect most utubers dont sadly keep up gj
does the mic work if you plug it into a pc with the usb?
Yes it does just got a pair of these.
What if I plug the usb into my xbox, or xbox controller

I’m planning on getting a new headset for ps4 and I’m
Looking for something for fps games .. so would u recommend these or the turtle beach recon 200 ??

HyperX Cloud 2 or Corsair Void Pro RGB Wired? Which one?
had a cloud 2 for 2 years, now i have the void pro usb
i like the comfort of both equally, cloud is tighter and more secure so it wont move while the void pro is a little lighter and more loose, so when i turn my head too fast it moves a bit
i wear glasses - i wear/wore those headsets for often more than 10 hours at a time and i have only had the problem of the cloud pressing on the cheekbone or the frames in the beginning, after about a week of wearing them it went away/i got used to it, dont know which, but it was gone and thats the main point
i like the bass on the cloud more, probably because the earcups are tighter and pleather instead of that fabric type on the void pro
sound is more customizable on the void though and i really like that, but thats more for listening to music than for gaming, the preset for gaming i use i pretty much the same as the 7.1 sound on the cloud, again with the exception of the bass
void pro feels flimsy though, i feel like its gonna break the moment i sit on it by accident or if i were to throw it against the wall - cloud 2 has way better build quality - in the 2 years ive had it i abused it A LOT i sat on it, threw it on the ground several times, threw it against the wall several times, beat it against the table, you get the idea, it didnt have a good time, but it held up without a problem - until the outside cable connecting to the right earcup got that loose connection, at that point i fixed it in place with zip ties and duct tape and continued to use it for 4 months and it worked, the reason it got the loose connection was just me being dumb though, tried to show off how sturdy it is and pulled on the cable too hard, thats when the problem started
conclusion:
for music that not bass heavy - void pro
for music thats bass heavy - cloud 2
for gaming if you rage a lot - cloud 2
for gaming if you are calm - void pro (unless you really like that bass)
if you just want a headset you can abuse - cloud 2
wow thanks, i choose the hyperx cloud 2.
Makabe Masamune Cloud 2

“Sophisticated”, it’s the one I have, beautiful headset for gaming, or just listening to tunes. I like the sound better than my $400 beats studio3 wireless
Really? I've been looking for new headphones and was considering the beats. I'm still not yet comfortable on the $300+ price tags of newer headsets.
Beats suck for sound quality. Go for Sony or Bose
Hi ! Just a quick Add question , does it work on laptops ? MacBookAir to be exact. A response is highly appreciated .Thanks.

The quality of these speakers. Trying to buy a couple of them, but i already see they flush on the market. Not like all the other products nowadays, you can't even search for the serial numbers, and they're gone.

cloud 2
I have two pairs of these, no regrets. Also handy if you want a great headset for walking outside, the small cable length to the 3.5mm plug is handy, doesn't get in the way like longer cables do.
“Goodnight, sleep tight” ahh music 💀💀
I had a Logitech and it broke exactly in the middle where the HyperX has the metal hanger, exactly where it splits up into the two lanes in fact. It's not just that it is metal it's also that it connects in two places with the speakercup whereas most other headsets only have one connection, directly in one line with the headband to the speakercubs which makes them much more fragile. It's exaclty where all the pressure is when you pull them apart like you also did multiple times in the video.
What do you suggest turtle beach or hyperX ? For ps4
depends the model of each
Are those headsets good to listen music?
