😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

EV incentives are no where near the numbers that ICE vehicles and Big Oil have gotten historically but you're right, ALL incentives should be ended. EVs are strong enough on their own now and don't need them anymore. Maybe legacy ICE makers who make EVs will be needing another couple of bailouts in the next couple of years so the government should be saving their money for that.

They dont have resell or junk value.
You cant travel continuously from point A to point B across multiple states.
Youll spend half your vacation waiting for your vehicle to be able to continue.
Who wants ev charging stations at a state park or national forest...not me personally.
EVs today have a weight and combustion problem.
I'm a expert at propulsion engineering.
I started build EVs in my teens. I received my degree through the military.
And even with a degree I could see EVs no matter the configuration are just built for single purpose use.
Trains, submarines and other hybrids still consume more than a conventional gasoline or diesel.

We need Hybrids that can actually plug in and have a decent battery. putting an ICE in a EV and powering it off the ICE is straight up pointless and actively antithetical to the point of EV's. I bought the Tesla for local driving and I slow charge it at home each night. I also live in TN so it does not get crazy cold and power is cheap. It costs 2.8 cents per mile to drive the Tesla Y. It cost 13.3 cents per mile to drive my Camry. I am saving about 50 dollars a month on fuel and I do not need to refill at a charging station unless I take a 300 mile trip. Over all I am very pleased with the EV. I of course did go with a tesla since that is what they do instead of a ford or some other company pretending to do EV cars. Most of the EV complaints appear to be non tesla complaints. When the solid state batteries come out range will no longer be an issue but needing a strong electric grid will be needed of course.

I think the depreciation is one of the biggest problems. I watched another channel where the owner of a Polestar 2 provided an update after 2 years of ownership. The car had already lost 60% of it's value and once the battery warranty expires after 100,000 miles the car will have lost 75% of it's value in less than 3 years, that's pretty wild. However it's understandable people don't want to pay a lot for a car when replacing the battery will cost more than twice the value of the car. Also understandable dealer don't want to sell used EVs out of warranty as they have to provide some warranty and they could end up losing a lot of money.

Additionally it’s easy to see that when tax revenue from petroleum sales drops, the feds will come after EV drivers as well as increasing taxation on other sources. Add in that while EVs might be cleaner to drive depending on how electricity is generated in your area, the carbon footprint in their manufacturing isn’t stellar.

Funny how this 'news channel' fails to mention that the very same Consumer Reports article it references says (directly from the article): The Model Y joins the Model 3 in earning CR Recommended status.
“Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y are now the sweet spot in the automotive industry when it comes to building electric cars,” Fisher says. “While Tesla is still a relatively new car company, it has more experience producing EVs than any other automaker.”
“While Tesla’s EV components are generally reliable, the company continues to struggle with the build quality of its vehicles,” says Steven Elek, who leads the auto data analytics program at CR. “Tesla powertrains are now pretty solid for the most part, but Tesla owners report a lot of build quality issues including irregular paint, broken trim, door handles that don’t work, and trunks that don’t close. All of these pull down the brand’s reliability score.”

EVs sales are growing everywhere on the planet. (50% in China, 95% in Norway, 8% in USA, etc.).
To conquer the rest of the world market, electric cars (EVs) only have to be technically superior to the Internal Combustion Engine cars (ICE). It’s clearly the case.
    1. EVs are simpler to make: Tesla, for instance, has reduced the number of pieces for the front part of the vehicle from 70 pieces to only one. (It’s the same thing for the rear part of its vehicles.)
    2. Tesla, BYD and Volvo demonstrated that it was possible to produce profitable EVs; something legacy producers like GM or Toyota are unable to do. It’s because they feared bankruptcy that many companies stopped producing EVs.
    3. The price of EVs is falling rapidly due to the rapidly falling price of their batteries (- 30% in 2023).
    4. No cobalt or nickel are used to produce the most modern EVs.
    5. EVs pollute much less than ICE cars, especially when they move.
    6. EVs are more stable on roads because their heavy batteries are located at the bottom of the car.
    7. EVS protect better their occupants when there is a collision due to the rigidity of their battery packs.
    8. There are fewer than ten (10) moving parts in an EV engine compared to more than a thousand in an ICE car. That reduction in the number of pieces means that less machinery are used to produce them. As a result, producing electric cars creates less pollution.
    9. EVs accelerate more rapidly than ICE cars when their drivers try to overtake other cars.
    10. The brakes on an EV last much longer due to their regenerative braking system.
    11. The dashboard of an EV is much simpler to produce since almost all the controls are on the on-board computer.
    12. There are fewer liquids in an EV (windshield cleaning fluid, battery fluid).
    13. EVs are roomier than ICE cars because their engines are much smaller.
    14. Most technical problems on an EV can be solved ¨over the air¨ without having to go to a dealer.
    15. EVs don’t need to go to the dealer for regular maintenance.
    16. Everybody can buy an EV on the Internet without having to go to a dealer.
    17. Recharging an EV is 80% cheaper than filling the tank of an ICE car.
    18. Nowadays, there are multiple ways to produce electricity. (N.B. In 2023, solar panels are the cheapest way to produce electricity. And they almost never need long transmission lines).
    19. Nowadays, charging stations are everywhere while the number of gas stations is decreasing.
    20. Contrary to ICE cars, EVs can be recharged at home.
    21. EV owners say they have no problem with the autonomy of their vehicle.
    22. If EVs explode from time to time, 200,000 ICE cars explode every year in USA.
    23. Finally, we need to replace ICE cars with EVs for two other reasons. First, because petroleum is becoming scarcer on the planet and, second, because we all need to stop depending on an explosive region like the Middle East for our main source of energy.
    24. Etc.

Some information might be true to a certain level of EVs. I bought a tesla model 3, and it's the best decision I've made and will never go back to gasoline car. I've traveled in my tesla long distances and never faced an issue with charging. In fact, i enjoy traveling in my tesla than i ever did in my previous gas cars. Tesla super chargers are everywhere and are the most reliable. The quick response and agility of the car compares to many expensive gas cars. When you charge at home, the cost is 1/5 th of gas and never have to stop at a gas station. Charging outside is about half the cost of gasoline. The range anxiety is the problem with most non ev users, but a 250 range would be more than enough for 4 day use without recharging (at home). Tires last as long as a regular car, but all depends on your frequent rotation and driving habit. Mine rated at 40k miles and have over 44k and are still going. EVs have smooth and quieter rides, instant torque, no smell nor fumes, no oil changes, and the best part is never having to stop at a gas station line. They are cheaper to maintain on the long run.

Overpriced, low range, unrepairable, high insurance, hard on tires, no charging infrastructure and very low lifespan. EVs are junk!

I like my Tesla. I use it for local driving so the range and tire thing is not a problem. So far I am happy but who knows in the long run. I have owned my tesla for only 2 months so far.

Propaganda at best. I see more EV’s and new Tesla’s on the road everyday. This video isn’t telling the truth of what’s going on. Just another trash video.

You are so right, we have a plug in hybrid for only local driving. For long trips, we take the gas car.

I don't have an EV but this channel seems biased to the point of sounding totally anti-EV. Not sure I can trust someone who doesn't show the Pros but only the Cons. And the alarmist titles don't help either.

More pointless anti-EV propaganda. The international energy agency predict that EV/hybrid sales will increase by 20% in 2024. They also add, to denigrate another anti-EV talking point, that within 5 years the cost of buying an EV will be at parity with ICE vehicles.

Bought a used EV with 100TKM on the dashboard 7 years ago. Now at 310TKM. Never regretted it. Never had any serious problem charging, only when the 12V battery failed I had to jump start it and replace the 12V battery.

I have one question as long as gas powered generators still exist are EVs actually worse for the environment since we're making electricity from gas ?

Nothing is mentioned above a BIGGER concern involving EV ownership. EVs spontaneously burst into flames or explode due to cracks or minor damage to the EV batteries or flimsy construction. Also, due to the location where the batteries are housed, neither firefighters nor car owners can extinguish the flame source with exterior forces (water, etc) as the batteries (the source) are completely enclosed on all sides. Even if u can extinguish the flames, they could reignite at any time. Firefighter need to be informed beforehand about an EV being the fire source. This way they can bring a new tool to extinguish the burning EV.

You only have one chance to make a first impression. If these companies would’ve done things right the first time and not forced everything down our throats, things might’ve been different.

Have an EV on a control electric rate of .05 cent which very cheap. About 165 miles per $3.00 gal of gas. Charging at home, great. On the road, kind of a pain. It's a learning prosses.
