That’s awesome man. Have fun with your build. Yeah, I hope you have a clean engine to start with as well. I love learning all the nuances of K series. RBB3, 4…all the variations that are out there and what changed through the years. Did you specifically look for the RBB3 or is that what your local shop had so that’s what you went with?
@RefineMovement yes i specifically wanted the rrb3 or 4 variant. My orignal plan when i bought my 95 civic si was to build the stock d16z6 cause the engine and chassis is orginal 115k miles hope fully i can sell the full z6 engine transmission and everything for a decent price to put toward the my k24 engine cause its not cheap but im sure it will be worth it in the end
I have pulled a lot of k24a2 engines in the US. I work at ignition performance and we buy copart tsx cars all the time. We have found that the rbb-3 and 4 were found in 2005 model tsx cars from the factory. Depends on the month they were produced. So it is not just 06-08 with the 5 extra horsepower and bigger valves.
@@TrentCole-et1lp this is the first time this has ever came about if what you say in fact true. I don't doubt that there are random things like this to happen. And I know that the following years, are typically made the previous year. So it's very possible
OMG 😲 that was pure car porn and I want more of it, can't wait till the next vid!!! Man you have a beautiful engine right there, it is going to be an absolute monster and it will literally be a night and day difference feeling it in your light as hell EG chassis!!!! Hell yea, this is gonna be so fun to watch and be a part of, thank you for bringing us all along for this amazing ride!! 🤜🤌🤛
Absolutely filthy content! lol Thank you very much for watching the video and I'm happy to hear you are as excited as I am about this series. This engine will for sure make the EG a different car. Should be wild to feel lol. Next Thursdays episode we tackle porting out the K24 cylinder head! Its a good one!
@RefineMovement I'm ready! That'll be a fun one for sure. Feels like back in the day watching the Sopranos religiously every week, patiently waiting for the next episode 👊
you have the 06-08 one, noiceeeee. since you are tracking the car, i would recommend using a prb intake manifold off a k20a2. yes i said that. it'll provide low end torque for the track. my 05 k24 made 240whp with one. standard bolt ons, prb oil pump, 50* vtc, 3" exhaust is sweet spot. mine carried max tq across whole midrange while using a 70mm tb and ported tb opening
after watching the video, if youre doing a full build then scratch what i said and toss in some 12.5:1 pistons in there. perfect streetable compression and great on track
That's exactly what I got! Weisco 12.5:1's. Thanks for your detailed explanation on why you'd recommend the prb if it was stock though. Those sound like some healthy numbers, I bet it was a blast to drive
another video! lets go! this channel deserves success.
I greatly appreciate that! Please share the video, it really helps. Thanks for being around here!
soo how much you wanting for those oem rods and pistons
I just got one on my 2004 honda Element. Exciting ronsee this
Oh that’s cool going into the Element!
Good to see Jimmy in Action! Doing what he Loves, and Of Course next to the Super Hero Bill!
Jimmy and Bill are fantastic at what they do!
Nice! Looking forward to this series!
Hi from Brazil. I Love k series.
Good job 👍
Yes Sir! Fun begins Let's Goooooo!!!
It for sure has! Tearing this engine down made it real for me as well! lol
0:08 I noticed green paint on crank pulley and when I bought my jdm k24a my crank pulley had green paint as well any reason why?
Eagle eye! I believe that paint is there as a mark from the factory that the bolt has been properly torqued down.
🔥🔥Nice rbb4 im putting an rbb3 in my 95 hatch si i hope my engine is as clean as that one when i open it up and build it

The JDM k24a did not get the bump that the usdm 06-08 k24a2 got. The JDM k24a unfortunately kept the 04-05 spec and came in the Honda Odyssey absolute
Oh interesting, I’ll have to look into that. Thanks

@ not very possible as you say. We pull them all the time. We have 8 tsx at the shop currently being parted. 4 of them are 05 with rbb-3 heafd

Can you use those pistons and rods on a k24a4 block with a k20 head
yes
Don’t forget the rbc 50* cam gear
It’s 2025 , get the 19mm weighted socket !
K is the way 😎
When your engine guy looks and sounds like Matt Farah with hair ...

LETS GOOOOOOO
Where did you buy the motor?
I got this one at JDM Orlando. I’ve used Sunshine JDM buying my d series in the past, I like them too
Shoulda ran it a season or two before opening it up
😮
The old low mileage engine law has been thrown out the door for over a decade buddy
Shaken Law still in effect buddy
@ no buddy. Like I said that was decades ago
First
I thought you were DudeDad
Real OGs knows the JDM low mileage is a Joke... Most get thrown and taken out from a many cars before it gets here.. God luck.
