  • How to video for applying water based stain on concrete. In this video i used valspar semi transparent concrete stain from LOWES, first time using this product and i think it turned out decent. Only thing i would of done different is did a better job masking off areas, clean up was a little harder than i thought.

    After scouring for tutorials and reviews on the Behr Stain product (lacking info) your video single handily sold me on the Valspar stain. Project turned out perfect and nice idea with the glitter!

      not hard imo. just plan everything out and you will be fine.. clean area, get a good sprayer mine did clog up a few times and would drip from nozzle so have a rag handy to wipe up those drips if it happens and if you really like the stain look and not so solid look go light with the sprayer, move quick. remember you can always go back and add more to darken it but you can't remove it if you go to heavy the first time. test sprayer out on a peice of cardboard or something just to get an idea of the flow. good luck 👍

    That turned out beautifully. Question: is the satin flammable after it dries. I know concrete paint can still be flammable after drying. I'm wondering because I would like to use this technique on the floor in the kitchen where my wood stove sits. The stove is on concrete pavers, but the entire kitchen floor is concrete. I would like this color you used. I had thought the only thing I could do would be to paint the floor. But I don't want to do anything that might make the surface of the floor flammable despite it being concrete.

    • @AllThingsCool
      @AllThingsCool  8 месяцев назад +1

      to get the stained look it's best to use the sprayer in a circular or random pattern If you use a roller or brush it will give a more solid paint look. Also go light you can you can always add more color/coats but you can't remove it

    Seems that even spraying is important to avoid light and dark spots. I’d recommend using a graco sprayer vs a pump system

    • @AllThingsCool
      @AllThingsCool  7 месяцев назад

      your correct all about the application better to spray light and record in spots if needed, go to heavy you lose the stain effect

    can I use a brush to apply the stain/sealer ? last year we did Stamped overlays with square design (two colors), I wan to change the color of alternating squares AND seal the whole area, so it has to be with a roller, can't spray as it will be selective applying of the stain, the sealer will be for the entire area, can use spray.
