  • You can use faux sponge rollers for more than just walls. I use them to apply multiple colors on pool decks and patios. below is a link to the article breaking down more details for you.

    Guess I'll have to find an alternative sponge roller since I can't find the one you use. Think I'll buy a sheet of backerboard like you did to test my skills and see the results before I do the patio.

    Thanks for the fine video. I am going to try the middle one. I am having trouble finding a good roller. Do you have any suggestions? Have a blessed day.

    I recently stained my concrete, two coats of the water base and I apply two coats of the clear sealer. After watching your video, I like the look of the sponge am I able to go over the top of the clearcoat with a coat of sponge paint, and then clearcoat on top of that? Thank you.

      Yes you can. I would recommend using a stiff brush to scratch the surface first. Water based sealers don’t re-emulsify. Scratching it will insure a better bond.

    It’s been a few years since you posted this and I could Google it but your an expert whereas Google… not so sure about that…what temperature should the concrete be about/between before you paint it?

    • @ConcreteMystique
      @ConcreteMystique  5 месяцев назад

      between 50 and 80 degrees. under 50 will take longer to dry. over 80 can cause bubbles and blistering.

    Do you finish with a clear sealer to protect? If so, do you use matte or satin, or gloss finish? I have a fairly big concrete patio..2500sq. ft. Any thoughts? Thanks for the great video. WiL

      sorry for the late reply. yes I use a clear sealer to finish it. I also add grip to the final coating for slip resistance. I recoat and add grip every 2-3 years to maintain the look. it is very easy to maintain.

      @@ConcreteMystique do you add grip to the paint? Or the seller or both? What base paint? usually use for concrete?

    • @ConcreteMystique
      @ConcreteMystique  Год назад

      @@belllui5923 I tell you exactly what I am using in the video, Colortop from Sherwin Williams. You add grip to the final clear coat. I did not add the grip or the clear coat in this video.

      @@ConcreteMystique Not sure I understand. If the product with color is sealer, why do you also need a clear sealer?

    • @ConcreteMystique
      @ConcreteMystique  Год назад

      @@robertd9850 you don't "need" more sealer. Adding a final sealer coat over it allows for gloss and you can add grip if you are worried about slip resistance.
