The one thing they also do not tell you is if they will even do a press and clean on your book even after you paid for the service. I had a submission of ten books that I had sent in and they held them at CCS for almost 9 months before forwarding them to CGC for grading. Once I got the books back I was really shocked with some of the grades I got back to include what was in the graders notes. I had three books that were in their original polybags, so when the notes on those books indicated polybag creases then I knew that CCS had not even pressed them. I had another book that wasn't polybagged and it came back with fingerprints in the graders notes. I then decided to never use CCS ever again. Like you said Bry learning how to press and clean comics is not that complicated and I have had some amazing results doing it myself without paying someone else for the service or the long turn around time.
Exactly why I don’t recommend CCS, poly bag creases can be very difficult to remove, sometimes requiring humidity. I have no doubt they pressed your book but it was probably a quick press and clearly wasn’t enough. The fact that they “called it good” is garbage…
Yup. Horrible experience with CCS. I had a couple more modern books with the most simple pressable defects. Every single one still had them. I couldve got them out with my presser. Guess that's what I get for being lazy. Ccs is a total scam.
Super helpful video Bry, especially for those just starting out submitting to CGC. I wish I had seen your video a year or two ago when I began my journey of CGC submissions😂. Oh well, a day late and a dollar short is my motto. Your videos are such a great educational resource for the comic book community. Thank you very much and keep on posting!
You sir are a fount of knowledge! Appreciate your assessment of all the ins and outs associated with CGC. So many options- it’s good to have a little guidance.
I'm slowly getting back into collecting comics. Things have changed so much since I lost my old collection 15 years ago..and your videos are helping me so much thanks for all you do keep up the great work
Great video. Thanks for breaking down the details! Personally I haven't ever had a book graded, as I prefer mine raw, but I have a ton of keys that I have considered grading. Your guidance is very helpful!
The pre video you did before this one helped me out a lot in my grading decisions. We are a sports shop and we sent our first books off yesterday for grading and I will say this “I will will pay the prices of grading comics all day!”
Maaaaaan this one is an eye-opener in terms of savings when you do your own pressing. Thanks for this. I'm still not sure I have time time or patience to learn how to do it but I'm certainly going to think about it!
If you remember, CCS used to offer two options of pressing: "quick press" and "full/reg press". Then one day they said in an email they have improved pressing sooo much they only have one option to choose from now.....pretty sure it's ALL the 'old' quick press now. Which means very minimal results.
I recently started collecting again. I'm incredibly interested in the whole process of grading. I'm learning a lot following you. I appreciate you breaking it all down. Thanks for sharing another great video! 👍👍
I’m thinking about doing my first CGC submission. This video helped a lot as to how much a submission will be and if the book would be worth grading. Keep up the great informative videos! 👍👌🙏
Wow! Great video Bry! This one was super helpful. I've been collecting for many years but never had a book graded. I still might not, but it's nice to understand the system now! Thanks!
Nice breakdown on CGC services for those that are on the fence and have not yet submitted books. My first submission had an error on my part. I submitted a pre 1975 book with modern books and this was before they had a hiring boom. It took 8 months to get them back!! Lesson learned. Submit only same era books. My second submission of 5 moderns went well and they were back within about 45 days so, not the 20 days currently stated, but I was pleased. Glad to see they've gotten better at return times. I've considered CBCS for a few books as I have signatures not witnessed and they offer a verified sig series, though I've not done it yet. Lastly, despite stories of dread from others on submissions, mine will go to CGC as they are indeed the premiere service and I am happy with the work they've done on my books. Now if they could only get Quality control to not send out books with newton rings. Ah, well...Best to all. PS; there's a guy on YT with a hack for newton rings but it looks crazy. ruclips.net/video/bKf-d-ZxBKQ/видео.html&lc=Ugwp79D2MlXjkXnp-qp4AaABAg.9lk2Jo4LUlX9llV8EhYPCs
Am new to l comics like really new like started 2 week ago and this guy help me so much he helped me not pay to much on a reprint even tho first print and 2 print look so damn simpler in truth he saved me money
Great and timely video Bry! Getting ready to do my first submission and this was super helpful. As always appreciate the detail and honest/straight forward information.
Hey Bry, just got back into collecting. I forgot how much joy these little devils bring into my life. Thank you for all of the detailed and clear information. Keep up the good work!
Great video. Thanks for the info and tips. I asked myself the same questions about CCS pressing. I've started pressing my own books, rather than paying extra fees and further time delays on returns. It's hard to imagine paying 15 extra dollars for a process which they do not clearly define.
Great video Bry 👍. So glad you broke this down and explained what can be a confusing process for someone who's never sent their books to CGC. Hey, I'm saving your video for reference later. 😂. Take care.
I'm also hesitant to trust CCS, regardless of turnaround times. Thanks for that breakdown too! I couldn't decide if I should upgrade to Elite or not, but after this video I realize it's not something that will benefit me. Very helpful, Bry.
Bry comics I'm enjoying more and more collecting still learning been 25yrs since I've been into collecting comics really only read them back then , Now relive my youth . This video has been very informative thank you. Saving money to get least one graded one day. Looking forward to my 1st not framed by myself But to put me one up graded silver age. Can be graded 5.0 wall. I'd still be blessed! Thanks for the info on rookie mistake comments! Happy collector!
Fantastic video. These informative videos you’ve been releasing are gold. I really wish these were around in 2014 when I was trying to figure all this out by myself (and when grading prices were like $12 or $14)! Bravo my guy 👏
I agree - I hope CCS at least gives more details about their pressing service since I’ve had some modern books that seem to still have some creases here and there after availing of their service.
I am just learning about submitting my comics, well, considered magazines, and I appreciate your videos. A little different than tcg subs. Thank you for your videos. Also, my first comic read as a kod was the uncanny xmen and Kitty Pride was one of my favorite characters, so that was cool to hear your comic information. Very neat.
Fantastic video! Some excellent info on CGC a few things I didn't know. Thanks for taking the time to give us a great video and tips to save$$.. Have a great night, see ya next video
Love this number crunching, it really does give insight in the process and assessment of value. I did the Canadian per book and I find the sweet spot was 15 books at 47.40 per book shipping via Canada Post. CGC shipping has been way faster in general. Last submission took less than a month. 6 months ago it was taking about 4 months round trip previously at it's fastest. Always learning with your content. Good stuff.
Thank you very much Sir for this video, it was very help. All your videos are helpful. Please keep up the amazing work you guys are doing. Have a blessed day God bless

❤
Great video! Also a good reference for even buying slabbed books on auction. Much appreciated. Cheers
Same here

So what you're saying is stay away from CCS, lol 😀
Thanks for the video Bry!
I'm new here 😂hoping to get a better idea on grading some of my better comics. Thanks for your videos and help
Super helpful video Bry, especially for those just starting out submitting to CGC. I wish I had seen your video a year or two ago when I began my journey of CGC submissions😂. Great video thank you

Great video. I got some comics i want 2 grade. This will help me choose my options. Thanks !
You sir are a fount of knowledge! Appreciate your assessment of all the ins and outs associated with CGC. So many options- it’s good to have a little guidance.
Glad to help!

Amazing video! You clarified so much info in such a concise and digestible clip! Thanks for providing this overview to the comic community.
I'm slowly getting back into collecting comics. Things have changed so much since I lost my old collection 15 years ago..and your videos are helping me so much thanks for all you do keep up the great work
I have a large collection let me know what you’re trying to get back.
This was a great video as a new collector and looking into really just grading some of may favorite covers thanks.
Thanks for the insights - I have dozens of titles I was planning to have graded and your perspectives were invaluable.
very informtive...thank you...looks like I need to learn to clean and press
I've just decided to have some of my books graded and quickly realized I had no idea...good stuff
Thanks for the helpful videos. I’ve been wanting to go through the process of trying to grade everything that is worthwhile in my collection. Cheers
Ty very helpful info im actually digging in the collection to do some submissions
Great video. Thanks for breaking down the details! Personally I haven't ever had a book graded, as I prefer mine raw, but I have a ton of keys that I have considered grading. Your guidance is very helpful!
Hopefully the time it takes to receive your books back has improved. Great video.
Thanks, great info!! Agreed, can't use a presser that doesn't offer minimal disclosure of their process.
I had figured out some of this myself but there's some great extra details in here - top notch video, Bry!
Thank you for this in depth and informative video walk thorough about the costs of grading comics!
You can do it!
If you remember, CCS used to offer two options of pressing: "quick press" and "full/reg press". Then one day they said in an email they have improved pressing sooo much they only have one option to choose from now.....pretty sure it's ALL the 'old' quick press now. Which means very minimal results.
I have a very large collection for sale if you would be interested let me know.
Awesome vid! Just got into collecting recently and your videos help a lot!
I recently started collecting again. I'm incredibly interested in the whole process of grading. I'm learning a lot following you. I appreciate you breaking it all down. Thanks for sharing another great video! 👍👍
Good content. I have just started to grade some keys I have, so I'm still learning what ways to go.
I’m thinking about doing my first CGC submission. This video helped a lot as to how much a submission will be and if the book would be worth grading. Keep up the great informative videos! 👍👌🙏
Thank you!
Another great video, Bry! The spreadsheet breakdown was really helpful, and confirms how important it is to learn how to press your own books.
Wow! Great video Bry! This one was super helpful. I've been collecting for many years but never had a book graded. I still might not, but it's nice to understand the system now! Thanks!

Its hard to justify the grading cost for most modern books.
Great and timely video Bry! Getting ready to do my first submission and this was super helpful. As always appreciate the detail and honest/straight forward information.
Thanks, I always wanted to learn the process of grading my comics. Great information!
Thanks for the info. Very Helpful!

Hey Bry, just got back into collecting. I forgot how much joy these little devils bring into my life. Thank you for all of the detailed and clear information. Keep up the good work!
They are so good! And thank you!
Thank you so much for doing this I was all over their website trying to get even an inkling of prices and everything seemed so cryptic.
In the post 2000 modern age, transparency as a business is key.
It’s not just a vibe, it’s literally what makes a product or service viable.
Great video. Thanks for the info and tips. I asked myself the same questions about CCS pressing. I've started pressing my own books, rather than paying extra fees and further time delays on returns. It's hard to imagine paying 15 extra dollars for a process which they do not clearly define.
Super helpful Thank you so much for the continent I got so much out of it.

Great video. Seeing the numbers on xcell is a great visual for different options
Thanks for the info; I was always on the fence on what books to grade. This helps.
Great breakdown! I'm about to make my first submission to CGC so this was very helpful!

Hey Bry awesome info I have watched this several times. Thank you for all the valuable information.
Nice breakdown Bry! I agree with the pressing secrecy…
Great video Bry, the costs of stabbing is crazy, and now with the market correctingyou have to pick only the valuable books for submission.
I'm also hesitant to trust CCS, regardless of turnaround times. Thanks for that breakdown too! I couldn't decide if I should upgrade to Elite or not, but after this video I realize it's not something that will benefit me. Very helpful, Bry.
Appreciate your content. As someone new to the hobby I'm looking to learn as much as possible

I agree - I hope CCS at least gives more details about their pressing service since I’ve had some modern books that seem to still have some creases here and there after availing of their service.
I appreciate the explanation. It all seems very complicated to me.
It is unless you do it often, then it’s second nature
Thank you for the Information on slabs
Love the info videos keep them coming please!!!

Great video, I'm actually looking to sub some stuff too so very helpful
Thank you for the video Bry thinking about getting my Fantastic Four & X-Men books reslabbed with the custom labels next year.
