Freaking great video. I've had mine for two months I really enjoy playing it. The Uno really proves you don't to be overpriced and have a humongous footprint to make huge sounds
I was just playing my Uno, I like making dreamy sounding arps with it while tweaking the envelopes and filter. It's a fun synth, and very easy to use. The editor is really helpful too, pretty sure you can save unlimited presets there!
One thing to note - they updated the firmware to where you can access features not printed on the front panel (before that, you would've needed to use the software editor)! That definitely improves it. I'm sure Marc will probably mention that at some point, but I figured I'd put that out there.
Have been telling everyone since this guy launched how great the tone is. And with MIDI CCs, saveable patches and an editor makes this synth prob the best value in the budget mono synth space right now.
i have an uno synth connected to an uno drum, how do i drop the drum or the synth for a few patterns and then bring them back in sync, im new to this and not sure what im doing!!! help!!!!
Lol...I was going to say, weren't you standing about 20 feet from Erik and the Uno gang at Superbooth? Yianni (Dreadbox) wanted to see it, so after we walked over to it, I ended up talking to Erik a bit about it. I was definitely impressed enough with the sound, though I admit I had reservations about what I thought was an 80s, membrane-button interface, which Erik explained wasn't the case. When do you get any sleep?
Man, some people are either deaf or crazy. Some guy below said it is lacking in midrange. This thing has strong lows, mid and highs. It's a big, balanced sound.
Hi! Welcome to Automatic Gainsay. Since 2006, I've been demonstrating vintage and analog synthesizers to millions of people. The channel was designed to educate people in regard to the sound and functionality of various synthesizers to aid in their decision to purchase the synthesizer based on what the synthesizer sounds like when it does what it does. My job isn't to show you what I can do with a synthesizer (although I sometimes do that in at least one video for fun), my job is to show you what the synthesizer sounds like when it does what it does. That way, you understand the functionality and sound of the synthesizer instead of the things I can do with the synthesizer, but you may not be able to, etc. Lastly, I don't do "reviews." Reviews are where people tell you what to think about a synthesizer. I do demonstrations... you are free to come to your own conclusions about the synthesizer based on my demonstration of its sound and functionality. Thanks for stopping by!
Reviewing vs. Overviewing … You say tomato, I say tomatoe. You made this 4 part video collection dedicated solely to the Uno and unless I missed something, you never even touched on it's arpeggiator ability at all. For example, can the keys be split into 2 sections where the arpeggiator will operate one half of the keyboard while the other half can be freestyled on much like I can do with my Alesis Micron ?? People such as myself would like to know.
You say tomato, I say exactly what the intent is of this video, and apparently you would rather be argumentative than recognize that you showed up cluelessly with a pointless criticism. What sort of "experimenting" were you looking for? What sort of "experimentation" do you think is possible with a simple two-oscillator monosynth? In addition, you don't recognize that you arrived IN THE MIDST of this video series, and there are actually two more videos to be released... one of them addressing sequencing and arpeggiation. Lastly, that functionality is not present on the Uno.
Love the tone of this synth! It's really fantastic sounding and for the price I'm able to overlook some shortcomings. Thanks for checking it out Mark!
Can't tell you how chuffed I am that you like this! This is the first time I've been grabbed by a piece of hardware for a looooooong time! :-)

This synth has some respectable low-end, and I like the gritty sound of the patches, very harmonic. Sounds great!

That intro tune is bangin'.
Thank you!

I love your videos! The UNO is my first synth and I'm happy to hear you back it up. Plus, your volca beats tutorials help me out, thanks
Good first synth! My first hardware synth (over 6.5 years ago now) was an Alesis Micron - definitely wasn't the best choice for just starting out.
Thank you for this series showing what it can do.
Amazing sound for the price point ... like the demos with 2 UNOs - just need a MIDI controller with keyboard split.

Man those first tones you made sold me! For $199? Love it!
Cheers Marc . I will get to part 5 soon 😁 I am loving my Uno and have subscribed to the channel for more Uno loving
Not bad! Seems like it has it's own personality, lacking in mid range but distinct anyway. Interesting music as always Mark Doty! Thanks for this.
Sounds good to me!
Played with this at Superbooth, was sceptical, it is actually decent.
Oddly enough, it sounds very much like a Juno. Which I like!

Hello Marc! Go to the moog factory and play the Moog One live for us!
I enjoy the percussion too!
How to polyphonic the Uno :)
A Maserati trapped in a frail case . Awesome sounding . Wish there was a pro version. Peace Christo 👽

I heard it's not a membrane but like an ipad. Not sure what that means.
@@AcidTechnoMan5000 yeah, it's some kind of touch-capacitance surface, using the fact your body conducts electricity to detect input.
Maybe one day +AutomaticGainsay will check out Modal Skulpt too 😏
It has drums also... Sold!!!
Cool!
just got mine today £129.00 cant believe how good it sounds and for the price total bargain

Thumbs up Indiana USA.
Well shit, I guess I'm spending another 200$ soon.
This guy isn't much of an experimenter when it comes to this device as far as reviewing it is concerned.
