I bought Uno Synth back in July 2019, after a long think about getting the Uno or a Volca.. I'm really happy with it now I've seen this. I've only just seen your demo, and it's the best demo I have seen yet on the Uno. Hooking your guitar up to it is fantastic. I'm surprised more axemen don't use synths in their set-up. I love the Baba O'Reilly pattern. Please put your patterns/patches on the IKM website.
Nice demo, I just got one of these on the used market...you hit the nail on the head. It is very flexible. Sounds really great with breath control. If you need a tiny MIDI controller, it's useful for that also. Like drones and arpeggios, etc.
Wow this turned out to be quite the find after only looking for Uno demos. I bought a large midi keyboard a while back and got the Yamaha cs maybe a year ago so seeing some examples of them interfacing is really cool. I ordered the Uno recently and got a Behringer crave as well a couple week ago. The best bit though from the video is that I had know idea there was a device that could turn a regular guitar into a midi controller. The biggest problem for me has been I am a novice at best when it comes to playing piano/keyboard..... I have 17 years experience with guitar so that is going to completely change the game for me, thank you thank you!
The UNO is the perfect pal for my Reface CS, which sounds great, but does not have a sequencer or arp. Like how you can change the patch on the UNO, and the seq/arp stays in sync... gets past the 16 step limit of the sequencer, allowing you to play your sequences in any order you want, for as long as you want.
ho ly cow, just saw this for the first time here, and that guitar to midi, wow, never saw that before, seems like a huge step from that guitar that had to be produced for midi, on a list now.
Great overview! Thank you! Can you do a comparison with a Korg? Only drawback for me on this is the touch screen, I prefer buttons. But this does everything I want. Do the Korg minis have arpeggiators?
Just to mention: The UNO will shut off with no warning if you do not catch the battery warning on the 3-digit screen. Best bet is if you see the warning, save and then change the batteries......do not push it or you will end up losing your work.
Can you please cover how to run these external sources through the synth, like mp3 players and the guitar? It is impossible to find any good information out there, everything is reviews and the most basic information about how it the synth works. No one shows hookups and settings.
Great demo of the Uno Synth! I bought one. I hope you'll do some kind of showcase at GearFest. Where can I get your downloadable presets? They're fantastic! I will gladly buy you a beer (or several) if you could also do a demo of the Stranger Things theme song!
Hi Tyler. There are two 3.5mm jacks on the back marked MIDI IN and OUT. UNO Synth comes with two MIDI adapters that have a 3.5mm plug on one end, and a standard 5-Pin DIN MIDI jack on the other end. This allows you to use standard MIDI cables to and from other devices. -_Daniel_
I know this is a year and a half old, but I'm curious how you get polyphonic sounds from that Yamaha to play "polyphonically" through a monophonic synth such as the Uno? I'm really quite new to synth setups, so you'll have to forgive me if this is a simple explanation.
Hi Kevin. The only connections between the UNO Synth and the Yamaha Reface CS are MIDI. So, neither of them are "playing through" each other, only controlling each other. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
@@sweetwater Ah, ok, so maybe it's because I only have a MIDI keyboard (Arturia Keystep) which, even though it's poly itself, it can't play chords on the UnoSynth because the Keystep doesn't have its own sounds, unlike your Yamaha. Is that my issue?
@@Heimstatte If I remember correctly, the UnoSynth also have audio in so you can actually feed a polyphonic synth into the Unosynth and use the Unosynths filters, envelopes and lfo:s on that sound. But here I think they are both sent separately through their own mixer channel (or directly into different ins on an audiocard)
Hi Foos Dogg. Just call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, who will have a record of your purchase. They'll ask me for the presets which they'll then email to you. -_Daniel_
No no no you forgot birdland! 😆 Only joking great fun and informitive i love things like this and the volca keys that have an interface that makes it so expressive and fun. Its the way it shold be 😃
But as far as recording? Isn’t the line out Headphone not a great output to record ? I’m not able to plug to computer but I have tons of Analog recording.
You’re the best in the business Daniel, nobody does demos like you.

That guitar midi is crazy. Awesome demo, thank you.

Wonder if anyone has combine this one and a Blofeld?

Great demo man, you know your shit and enjoy the equipment . I'm sold definitely going to buy

I've got this one! Love it!
How can I run a guitar through this like you did?
Wow thank you!
Awesome demo! What's that little silver keyboard you MIDI'd it too?
Hi thefonz003. The white keyboard in front of me is the Yamaha Reface CS Virtual Analog Synth. Thanks for watching!
@@sweetwater - Oh, wow! I was sure it was a true analog. Those are some pretty sweet tones.
IK Multimedia should pay this guy
Can you please elaborate on the Life's Been Good patch ? Are these patches available for download ? Thanks for a great video.

I don't understand how you use a midi controller on this thing. Can someone please explain??

Got one of these for Christmas from Sweetwater. It's awesome! Where would I find Daniel's presets?

that p-lock is even much stronger than elektron stuff...
Does it have a audio line out? Or only audio over USB?
There's a line-in and a line/headphones-out (3.5mm jacks). You can see them both in use in the overhead shots at the top-left of the Uno synth.
But as far as recording? Isn’t the line out Headphone not a great output to record ? I’m not able to plug to computer but I have tons of Analog recording.

I really like the UNO, but too bad I have to go through a PC to change a lot of the parameters. I like hardware that's dedicated!
Looks more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!!!
Hi Keith. Just wait until you pair it with an UNO Drum. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
