You think your old! When I sat my driving test we had no theory exam. Just the examiner flashing things at you at the end of your test and asking you a few questions about the hignway code.
Keep the videos comming there always a good watch.
Very very lucky lad to work with nick and Adam not all employers are as genuine as nick
By God you meet them all in the lecky game
Fuckinell he’s not gonna shag ya mate
26:33 that was surprising someone’s taught this lad manners, You can tell in the voice it was heartfelt as was your reply. It’s something like this act of kindness that will truly set him up for his career and he’s landed lucky getting you as an employer. He wont know how lucky he is until his classmates are talking about how much of a dick their boss is. He’s gonna be like “ah mines is actually quite nice” so answer tae yer question aye employ him! ✅
To comply with maintenance free regs you need to use the correct connector with the correct box. If you're using 221 connectors you need to use the 221-4 boxes otherwise you're not complying with BS 5733. The cable tie also needs to be fitted so the enclosure is only accessible by using a tool.
That was very nice of you to give that you boy same tools and a bag to get him started 👍👍👍
Ben looks like a great apprentice. Cheers for the glove recommendation - I've just ordered a pair, they look great.
Cracking work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Great work on giving someone an opportunity to work!
It's also not a maintenance free JB if you don't use the correct connectors with the correct box ! Great presentation.
Give the lad a start well done
Didn't know that trick with the hope saw , used use pad saw , brilliant !
Always write a few times along cables - makes life easier when you cut the end off without thinking.
Yer big softie! It’s only old cold coffee, I got used to this when my kids were small, don’t miss it now though.
Must say best video to date, banter , laughs and a new lad, even if you get his name wrong, look forward to seeing your DIY SOS remake, i remeber suggesting it to you a year ago, as youd be great with the help of Adam and your new freind with 2 names.
🎥🎬💻📸
cheers Paul, maybe one day dude
Have you seen that apprentice at artisan electrics? I think his name's Jordan? ......... He's Caggy handed and rubbish 🤣 love the content top blokes
Hey at least that disc will continue to work. Unlike the recent issue somebody had I think it might've been Amazon shows that they had bought paid for were removed! I'll be able to listen to my CD collection or watch my DVD movies whenever I want and I suspect Blu-ray as well as long as the player works! Plus the older stuff is more repairable.
Nice of you to give the lad tools
Just liked! Great content
Great vid guys as allways should that box be further down on the joist ie 50mm just under the joist could be drilled through ?
I'm watching from Ukraine, I don't understand what the video is about, but it's interesting to watch! Like!
Ah that’s class lad, hard to find apprenticeships for young sparkys atm, can’t find one myself. Would defo take him on, will be mint.
Footage of you doing stuff provided, like given. Fair exchange sir.
Yea . Employ someone .
Lv the channel nick
Had the same problem with BG dimmers, the knob is bottoming out on the faceplate, stopping it from switching, put a piece of paper down hole in the knob to pack it out, poor QC, the post needs to be longer on the dimmer module.
Don’t loose the Clubcard, Tesco have some silly new pricing whereby there is a tiered pricing in the shops.
standard sized downlights seem so small to me now, over here I'm using 150mm led wafer down lights. cool trick with the holesaws regardless - thanks
I like the chapters.
been loving the videos, how long are the guys apprentices for before they are fully qualified?
Ben , your learning from two top blokes and serious sparks , u could not ask for better mentors. Keep up the great content Nick . 🤙🤙👍
Much appreciated! cheers tom
So funny when he cut the markings off he went “oh god” we’ve all be there mate I’ve done it more times than enough
29:54 - Lol that scene cut off as Adam about to karate chop your throat! 😂😂
Still can’t get on using croppers to strip and 2nd fix T&E 😅
Dan, Ben it’s Ben… kino off a moment worthy of the dinosaur Nagy
I have stopped using BG dimmers. I don’t know why but I had a similar issue with 2 the best I have found is MK there faultless. It’s just a shame in the price of them
Nick felt so guilty about calling Ben "Dan" he gave him a start, I love it.
Have you ever dimmed the JCC V50 with a dimmable quintic receiver (not the GU10 type)?
what type of jackets is it that you lads wear? that navy blue one with the yellow shoulders
No glove = No love❤
Always where gloves when you can 😀
dunno if this was the problem but I've found with those dimmer switches, they sometimes dont click in properly like you had there, if they are over tightened in the faceplate
Did you explain to Ben how all the green wires go into the green dimmer switch?
Great Video Nick as always!
Legend!
Great stuff Nick with Ben! Who knows where this will end up. Meant to happen Sir Nick. Cheers
Cracking gesture that giving Ben (Dan) the bag and tools and an opportunity to pick up some on site experience 👏🏻
Those tools cost more than pennies but the value they'll bring to Dan .. or Ben is worth way more! Kudos 👏.
Hey Nick, what happened with the other van?
i did my theory test on paper for my back in 2000 ( which was 16th ed )-- the hardest thing for me when on a job at first was doing the cable runs but i was working with someone who showed me where + how to run cables and i taught them how to connect up --- but it's good of you take on Ben so he can learn on site as well cos you know he will be learning form the both of you
Fair play nick keep the youngster instead in a trade
Did you ever do a vid on trade shows? I saw you at a trade show few months ago. Wondered if you ever recorded any footage at the show.
We want more Adam and Morgan 😢 ❤
Ben ? Daniel ? I hear these names in the video I think ?
Morgan’s the lad on site
1 minute 30 into the video and I’m already laughing 😂😂 keep up the good work mate love the content 👌👌
Superrod one is awesome
Nick have you asked your doctor if you have Ankylosing spondylitis. I suffer with back pain had mri scans and all that and I found out I had AS
so is the other van Ad's?
People used to tell there kids not to take sweets from strangers ..... now theyll besaying dont accept electrical tools from strangers !! LOL
U Good Job Bundy !! Best of luck Ben , youve got a good Jedi Master to learn from
Mate, what you have done and are doing for Ben is amazing, Adam is a credit to you and here is hoping Ben goes the same way, as always a cracking vid mate. cheers.
Ware did you get the floor mat from?
I hit the like 👍
Hey Nick,
How do you go about making the hole for the light switch deeper on an existing wall?
Take the existing box out the wall, then either stitch drill or chop out the desired depth 👍🏻
Noice video dude hello Ben 👋
hi Nick im currently looking at a new tester not really fussed on specific brands what's your suggestions please ?and others feel free to say
Megger are decent. Only brand I’ve ever really used but can’t fault them
It's not a maintenance free joint as you used the wrong box, that box was for 222 not 221
😂
🙄🤣
Pretty sure the requirement for the cable tie is to make you require a tool to open it. Has no real bearing on the joint, but to comply with the standard you have to comply with the whole standard.
But you need a tool to lift the floor anyway. Pointless.
@@JC-jv5xw They're not necessarily under floors.
Try 1979 mate, no theory test lol
Take the lad on hopefully he'll do you proud unlike Adam 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Is that the junction box method but with the wago boxes
I would think so
Love how the youngsters take all the stuff out of their burgers. When they have kids and don’t have enough time to pee, let alone pick the onion out their burgers, they will just eat it as is. 👍
A question, did you do a proper apprenticeship or college by yourself? As you started your company about 18 or 19 year old
Funny feeling you didn't
College for 3 years, went self employed at 18 to subcontract then qualified at 19 and went by myself
Ichthyosis?
love your videos but way to many shorts
Fair play to giving another person a chance, maybe Dan can be Adams apprentice..
Nice to see youth being given a chance mate, in all for the future being brought into the trades 👍👍👍
Passed mine in 1970, theory test? What the hell is that?
My theory in 1971 was………paper, no calculator no slide rule…just a logbook 😂
Hi I completed my "Bachelorette degree in Electrical And Electronics Engineering"
Any related jobs available for me
Did Ad take his new recycled toy home? Lol
What's a theory test? I got my car licence the year Nick was born.......... ffs.
Tool to terminate
To be honest nick ots hard to tell with a new trainee I think it's best you get his shirt off oil him up with a can of WD40 and we will have a much better idea ?
Get the cutting grease around his nuts. Not politically correct but hey he is an apprentice
Your hard drive needs checking
@@jasonlee3247 I have a whole folder named " shirtless sparks " and one " guys up steps "
need to see more actual work and less chat about what you're going to be doing : ) but love the channel in the main...
Should I employ this new apprentice? offcose u shut :D
Get a scissors and cut the hood off Bens hoodie. Unprofessional image.
Ten minutes in and another cracking video.
As for marking up cables with arrows and what not why not just label with what the cores are doing? L-N, L-SL, blah blah blah.
No pen needed. One nick on the cable near the end with side cutters is your loop, 2 nicks is the switch drop 3 nicks for a SL & N to a light etc
@@Marco-mg9tv I was taught something similar when I was apprentice but then realised it’s not always the same bloke first fixing and second fixing and codes with arrows or nicks can get confusing for the next chap.
@@chrissharpe2106 fair point. But I always 2nd fix my own work. If I was ever dropped or not called back for 2nd fix then tough luck for the other guy he’ll have to bell them all out !
Hi Nick just reaching out are there any power tools which you don’t need due to upgrading or receiving new tools from brands etc im in need of some power tools if you can message me that would be great.
