Always hang your doors first before you fit architraves and door stops, if you need to pack out the frame with shims you cannot access with the architrave on..doing everything arse backwards..
Well done mate , I’ve been self employed for over30 years so I know what your up against . It’s great to see a young guy with the right attitude to get things done and improving day by day . All the best 👍
Thankyou mate I really appreciate the kind words
Fair play to you lad, being self employed and managing to get the work done as well as quotes and editing and posting videos on top of that is dedication
Thankyou mate it really is, it's 2am right now n I'm sorting tools and editing 😂😂, appreciate it thankyou
Not easy taking the leap and going out on your own, especially having to worry about another body! Killing the game mate, no one does it like us chippys 👏🏻❤️
Thanks matey really appreciate it
Youd one of the best 👌 👍
Good on you sir I’m a self employed joiner too I’ve been working away happily on my own for 30 years 👍
its very hard to get motivate without a big audience behind you , so fair play to you 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thankyou if a can just help a few people with tips or inspire people to start a trade that will do me
Motivation is the hardest part.
Carpentry is hard work but it looks simple and easy.
People think you can turn up with a measuring tape and a handsaw and hang a door in 5 minutes on your way home from work for a tenner
Can you do a day in the life of the aprentice? , keep up the good content 👌🏽
Yep will do this will be the next video I will be working on
Definitely worth it TJ. New too carpentry and being self-employed so having someones insights and general tips is really helpful!
Your a credit to your trade lots of respect
Yes mate It is worth it I’m only 15 but it’s just so useful as I do my own diy and I’ve put doors up before cause of your videos
thanks mate i appreciate this comment
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 keep it going mate
Thanks mate 👍
Hi Bro Its so good to see a young man with a trade I myself am a self employed Carpenter and Joiner and been in the game now for 37 years keep doing that good work and make as much money as you can while your still young and try to get a good team together and you can also make money on them while your working yourself well done and keep up the good work.
Thankyou I appreciate the kind words and your advice
thank you bro your on a madness and I love watching your tick-tock and RUclips
thank you I really appreciate this comment
Just found your channel bro and loving the content, you seem to have the answer for every job you do! Keep it up 🧰🛠️
Thankyou matey I really appreciate your kind words glad your liking the content
Good work man. I am looking at going self employed carpenter when I come back to the uk next year. It's going to be a learn curve
Good job man .. and like the content.. keep it coming !
thankyou
Brilliant videos
👊🏿👍🏿 really enjoying the content
Excellent work!
Thanks matey
Love your videos 💪
thankyou really appreciate it
Great vid bud love the vids keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Yes it’s good to remove all your tools from the van ,nice work 👍👍👍👍
thankyou
That must be a pain to have to load and unload your tools in the van everyday! I have a tool trailer full but where I live I can park it anywhere without having to worry about them. Heck, I have left tool boxes in the back of my pickup truck overnight!
😨 i could never imagine doing that down my area 😓 , i wish i could because it is a hassle unloading and loading the van every morning
This is so cool
thanks mate really appreciate it
Hi. Thanks for the video. An option would be to do a voice over commentary after your editing of the video as apposed to live commentary. That way the audio is sharper. Keep up the good work.
Thanks mate really appreciate the feed back
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 also that way you won’t have the radio on in the background so you can avoid copyright strikes, I think anyway 😅
@@curtisstanfield2803 😂😂😂 I was thinking this actually
My age 70yr old after 50yr working as a joiner retired now funny how everyone wants me to keep working
You need to set up some blocks with rebates to mark up slamming strip archives gaps etc hinge spacing latch markings then you only measure once
that is very true I may do this the next time , thank you
We are all ere to make money so if I can help I will
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 No need to mark them at all had you hung the doors first. I was thinking you were being paid an hourly rate lol
Waste of time putting the door stops on first. Always hang the doors first and fit handles. Then fit the door stops. Hope your On a day rate on that job
We all can’t be as good as you David
Sorry should have mentioned doors weren't here so we couldn't fit any doors
David you slag
Don’t apologise. You do things your way and in the long round you will learn what works best for you.
Another great video my man I’ve never really been interested in site work would you say it’s worth it? I only do domestic work myself so haven’t got any CSCS card.
it’s worth it if you run out of work or can’t find any work , also it’s just alot easier you go to work and get paid and don’t have to deal with clients
Well done ✔️ should the the head strip go on firstly?
depends which ever you feel comfortable with a job like this I would say
Topman
Thanks matey
What price you getting for that size house. I’m a second fixer. I get about £700 for a house of that size (casings fitted on 1st fix)
Where do you get your work from? Maybe you could do a video about that? Keep up the good work!!!
great idea thankyou
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 I'd be interested if you get work from RUclips, apprentice here but I massively appreciate your vids pal and I may think about doing vlogs in the near future
Where do you advertise?
Honestly would appreciate learning if I could and I don’t want any money… please inbox you contact details and I would probably pay to learn lol love the videos, keep up the hard work. Kennedy
Wish I was on London money
Me too
How would you recommend finding a carpenters apprenticeship in the Uk?
i would use the gov.co.uk website , or you could ask local trades men if they would be willing to take on any apprentices
What camera it was filmed you mention go pro which one ?
Go pro hero 9
That van is tidy ? How much do you spend on food at Greg’s . ? Are you on price or day work ? What do you charge for a day ? Where did you carry out your indentured course ? How long was it ? Have you ever done commercial work ? Get the plumber to move the pipes ? Two wrongs dont make a right ? Slamming strips ? Where in the world do they call these by that name please? .
Get the plumber to move the pipes, good one. Rather than kicking up a fuss and going to management etc he used common sense planed a little off the back of the skirts, still looks aesthetically pleasing, granted you would be reluctant to do it in a lounge etc, you've got to use a little discretion with these things
So a plumber will come back to move the pipes for a piece of skirting. Get real, by the time that was sorted would have been quicker just to get over it as the lad did...
I love your energy but iv watch 2 times and your always running late is this a common problem?
😂😂😅 sometimes
Did u get your interest at school.
I first problem I had here his van was not untidy enuf for my liking sorry but that's someone that goes to work not work ....
What phone do you have
iphone 13 and new samsung
Architrive 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s architrave buddy 🤣🤣
🤦🏾♂️💔
No excuse for being late, self employed or not!!!
Said I'm running late not that i was late...
Shutup snob

Just a hint? Don’t buy those company tool belts? Junk, uncomfortable, made in China! Buy for a guy like you an occidental trimmer or There fixed framer? I use a an Akibus custom belt all leather and set up how I want it! Last belt I will wear its expense! Don’t cheap on shoes ? I wear White’s Perry Moc Toe!
You ever drop a sheet of 3/4” hardwood oak ply on your foot? When you do and you will tennis will make sure you break 3/4 toes? Try working with a broken toe?
Eat good! Not like a 15 yr old! So you hv energy all day! I drink AG-1 everyday so I don’t get sick! Stretch and keep a pair of 25 pound DB at your place do arms and shoulders 3/4 times a week!
You’re burning yourself out! Don’t eat crap in a bag or box ! Make your food!
Go to Church and honor the God whom made you ! The world has enough heathens ! Who live like nothing matters but them!
