Omg, I was at this gig. It was at Leicester DeMontfort Uni, btw. Took a first date to it, and she paled into insignificance compared to the gig, lol. Still got the T-shirt, a grey one with a weird monkey-tiger on the front, oddly. Anyway, thankyou sooo much for uploading this, you've made my day
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! One of my favorite bands. Every show I have seen has been fantastic AND they are such nice guys. I am really grateful that you posted this and have subscribed. Looking forward to checking out your content!!
gutted for the tape loss of the start of Velvet Roof, but Taillights fade is amazing and the Red Letter Day songs sound so much better live at this time. Fine. Fine work sir!
@@ScottishTeeVee yes, many times and hopefully again soon. Every Saturday Bill Janovitz plays live from his basement. One silver lining in this mess we're all in.
they are doing some reunion shows, all local...soon. i bet they'll draw bigger crowds than ever...but really were unappreciated in the states, unlike over the pond. i saw a few Toronto shows that were sparsely attended--but the cult bands are usually the best. Even early on with Extra Width Blue Explosion, no problem getting a good spot.
BT played an outdoor show tonight in their hometown of Medfield, MA. They still sound amazing. Their live shows are pretty sporadic and you have to keep tabs on them but they have a new album coming out soon so maybe a tour? 🤞

@@ScottishTeeVee I'd say best scottish band, but Country Teasers are probably the best live band ive seen in decades--doesnt matter where they came from...definitely get compared to the Fall but, besides somehow making their way into a Subway commercial (a twisted cover of No Limits, by a 90s r&b or dance one hitter...they cover New Order to Butthole Surfers to Dr. Octagon, no irony, tough to nail down. I figured you've given so much, id steer you to something a lot of folks missed. Started as a reluctant garage band on Crypt, the lyrics and disposition of leader Ben Wallers kept them safely away from flavor of the month indie. A seriously great example of how music never stopped being vital and inventive. They may have peaked on their final lp, but that would ignore some soon to be legendary singles and essential lp's. Check em out...Secrets In Welsh one of their many unforgettable songs. Surprised Mr. Peel never had them...anyway, Thank You. Saw lots of Buffalo Tom at Let Me Come Over onward, never a weak show...they always came out swinging.
Larry is a tough one, my first and only cat is failing. my ex and i, against the vets advice--he was half dead and needed to be bottle fed 3 times a day, etc. 15 years later the wife is gone and "Bones" has never changed or hissed...ever. i know everyone thinks they got the coolest cat, but...never scratched the records, loved everyone. i guess ill have to catch that one elsewhere...these are awesome. they always delivered live. once, blues explosion touring extra width opened, they opened for My Bloody Valentine and Mercury Rev opened. killer show...but i really went for BT. Rev hadnt put out their best album yet, but are from my town and were great. i guess MBV sold me. nowadays id rather drive an extra hour to Cleveland without dealing with customs, canucks or parking,
Buffalo Tom were often on my Walkman back then. I always bought their albums and saw them twice. But somehow, and it’s difficult to put my finger on it, there was always “something” missing. It’s like a band so close to being excellent but never quite achieving it. Perhaps it was the repetitive nature of the chord progressions from album to album, or maybe Bill’s limited guitar skills, or maybe Tom’s use of the same two or three fills over and over again through the years. I dunno. They’ll always mean something to me but will never mean the world to me.

Incredible Band
They certainly were. Though I should saw still are, as they are still together and active
Saw them at the independent in sf 2 nights ago. Saw them play with my bloody Valentine 30 years ago. Still delivering. Guitar bass drums fuck yeah
I was there at the Independent too and they play with the same 1993 energy thank goodness for all of us. Do you have any clips of that show to post?

Glad you enjoyed it, got many more Buffalo Tom concerts to upload in the next few weeks.
This is about the time my gf broke up with me. I bought 2 BT albums that proved to be life changing. Certainly my favorite local band.
I hope, that as your local band, you have managed to see them a good few times?

@@bryanrussell1427 I have been watching some of the shows from Bill via his Facebook page. You are very lucky to have seen them live.
